So the last book I read is Welcome To The Nightmare Live by Sang Wo and translated by 98novels. My memory is kind of fucked so I'm not sure what was the last book I finished. It was probably So Witches We Became by Jill Baguchinsky

the thing is: lan xichen does not respect lan wangji's autonomy.

everyone always says that the twin jades is the example of the healthiest sibling relationship but it's not necessarily true. yes, lan xichen can discern lan wangji, his expressions, his feelings, he helps him in the aftermath of the first siege and wei wuxian's death. but at the end of the day he doesn't respect his choices and their consequences by laying blame on wei wuxian for his his actions and punishment.

he doesn't understand and doesn't want to understand the lan wangji did what he did not because of some kind of influence from wei wuxian or whatnot but because he wanted to do it — not only for wei wuxian but for himself as well. because he thought that was the right thing to do, because he chose to do it himself.

and lan xichen denies him these choices.
