Actually I've been thinking over my star trek X mdzs au again (which I plan on drawing soon)

And although I've been pretty vocal abt betazoid!wwx and vulcan!lwj I realised that while watching ds9 the other day...

What abt augment!lwj and trill!wwx instead, like wwx coming back as mxy after death tho still identifying as wwx from back than, lwjs mom (or dad) engineering him for *insert reason* without his consent and no one bothering to tell him even after his parents death, and once he finds out he cuts off lxc and lqr from his life etc etc

Like maybe it's just the ds9 brainworms speaking but.. cmon

Lan wangji raised Wen Yuan to be an upstanding and courteous Lan, but I think if Wei Ying raised him instead, he'd be exactly the same. He's like 12 years old, dragging his grumbling father to someone's house, talking politely and saying they're here to apologize because Wei yings latest crazy experiment blew up someone's house. People would go "what a sweet boy how is he the son of the yiling laozhu!?" And Wei Ying would yell about birthing a-yuan himself and scandalize everyone listening and wen yuan would be standing there sighing because he just smoothed things over
