ppl will be like i don’t want to read ooc fics and not realise fans have so many personal interpretations of canon that ooc means a different thing to different ppl. like my favourite fics i’ve ever read all have slightly different characterisations and yet i devour them all with hunger. what makes a fic great, to me, maybe has more to do with consistency of voice than with a consensus on what ‘in character’ means, more to do with the quality of writing and the strength of the premise and whether my heart gets shattered and healed or not

as someone who’s only read mdzs by mxtx so far and plans to read svsss and tgcf in the near (but equally as distant) future, EVERY single corner of this fandom is filled with spoiler landmines lmaoooo i’m dodging yall’s posts lefts and right, i have knowledge of soooo many downright bizarre, nonsensical plot points because without context all of this sounds so fucking crazy like i wish so bad someone somewhere is experiencing this exact same predicament coz. wow.

A TMNT Crossover fanfic where it’s just the 2012! TMNT boys trying to explain their Bishop to other versions of themselves.

Imagine the 2003 turtles hearing about a version of Bishop that’s actually an alien utrom that saved Mikey from vivisection.

Imagine the rise turtles having to hear about how he’s a “good kraang” and that he’s only a foot tall outside his robot suit.

Imagine the TOTTMNT boys trying to comprehend that all of the above while trying to wrap their heads around the fact that, somehow, a version of Bishop willingly worked with mutants with the goal to prevent the destruction of humanity.

Tragic canons gives fan fic writers much more freedom! And makes fix-it fics much more interesting especially those newtmas time travel fics heheh

I love newtmas so much genuinely one of my favourite ships and their relationship has LAYERS and I wish Newt could've went with Thomas to safe haven and spent their future together

BUT

If I had the power to somehow change Newts ending I'd keep it the same Wait! Wait! Put the pitchforks and torches down

Now hear me out Newts death was IMPORTANT and honestly to ME atleast what makes Newtmas so much more tragic is the fact that they were frankly doomed from the start (ESPECIALLY in the books) Newt was never gonna be happy he was never gonna be truly "free" something he'd always wanted.. and the fact that Thomas went to the maze after Newts attempt only for Newt to die by HIS OWN hands later on!

Newtmas is good because their ending was written in stone no matter what lengths thomas went for Newt... although they should've kissed 🙈hhehe
