Funniest fandoms are where the fans are like, "I'm obsessed with this. I don't recommend it even slightly."
I hate the “happy Robin” “angry Robin” thing because no Jason was not the happy Robin. Let’s set aside the fact that you can’t really reduce these characters to a singular emotion. Jason Todd was angry as Robin (please note this does not make him the angry Robin, because there is no angry Robin, bc let’s be so fr, they all had angry moments. ) Which makes sense because he was a kid who had to deal with way too much shit. Bruce took him in to help him grow and teach him but his life was tragically cut short.
People associate anger as bad but Jason wasn’t bad, he was a good kid who got dealt a bad hand. As if being 15 wasn’t hard enough he was out there every night facing such awful people, of course he lost his cool every now and then! Yes he believed Robin gave him magic, that doesn’t mean he can’t be angry???? Like these two things can exist at once. I feel like once you acknowledge that Jason wasn’t always cheerful and happy as Robin (and the opposite is true too, he wasn’t always angry and vengeful as Robin) that’s when you truly can appreciate his character. The fandom always either classifies him as the happy Robin or the angry Robin but like why can’t he be both? Why can’t he be happy AND angry? Can one only feel a singular emotion
One of the things I love most is the bond of complicity between Selina and Dick that has been built over the years.
She saw the little, nosy Robin grow up and become a leader, a good man who carries the weight of so many responsibilities, just like his father.
He met the woman behind the thief he wanted to catch so badly, he saw someone who cares about the strays of Gotham (and Batman) as much as she loves jewelry.
Their journey today is independent of Selina and Bruce's relationship. Aside from a certain stupid editorial decision, they have seen each other mature over the years and care for each other like family.
Andrew Minyard better than me fr because if my blue eyed situationship said "thank you, you were amazing" to me after I gave 110% at a fucking stickball game and then immediately gets kidnapped by his serial killer dad he conveniently forgot to tell me about, and I had to learn that my codependent worstie knew the whole time through "gentle persuasion"...
I'd be on the news.
I admittedly don’t know much about Jason Todd’s relationship with Artemis but I propose that their ship name should be Arson.
meeee
Dazai: sets chair on fire and performs satanic rituals
Chuuya: starts making random things float and acting like a demon
Hirotsu: I hate my job
funniest indicator of neil’s exy progression (& his development into his bitch self) is him going from ”nicky and aaron are sooo good! i can’t believe I get to play exy with them!” in tfc to being like ”nicky fucking sucks at exy and if i ever have to see aaron again it will be too soon” in tkm
I dont think he wants help Bruce…
On TikTok I saw a few people use the fact that Jason asked Tim to be his Robin in Battle For the Cowl as evidence that Jason and Tim are really close and the other day I saw the actual panel (I haven’t read BFTC) and I’m shocked that people interpreted that as wholesome. So my takeaway is that they
A. Didn’t see the panel, just saw someone mention it in passing
or
B. Are a little delusional (but hey aren’t we all?)
