Alright, as strong as Maki is, he usually fights with at least one other bug at his side, so being alone is gonna hamper him no matter what.

Meanwhile, Hornet has been on her own since being a child, and she has a few things going for her Maki doesn't: mobility, range, and area denial. She can set up traps, keep him out of reach while still being a threat, and move considerably more swiftly than Maki. Also, her weapon is made of metal, whereas I think Maki's sword is made of wood. Sure, he can swing it pretty hard, but Hornet could probably just break it if necessary. Sorry, Maki, but she's just got too much over you.

I Am A Cat - a short comic
