There are several beats where no one talks. It stretches. Phantom tilts his head. "Is there a further issue?" He asks.
"Yeah, you're possessing my little brother's fucking corpse. He-fuck!" The red helmeted one (he should probably ask for names) snarled and kicked out at the wall.
"Hood-" the one in black and blue tries to speak, but is ferociously cut off.
"No, don't you DARE tell me to fucking calm down! He's dead! Tim fucking died! Another Robin died alone and in pain in a warehouse, help just a few minutes too late and- fuck! Motherfucking," Hood let out an incensate noise of raise, half cry of anger half sob, "We heard our little brother die, and you ask me if there's a fucking ISSUE?!" It was at this point that Hood turned violently and accusatorily to Phantom.
Phantom paused. He... rarely dealt with the bereaved anymore. He remembered guilt. He remembered grief. He knew that in each moment of intense grief, he imagined that it had felt like dying. Again. He knew better now.
But he also knew it was distant. It had been so, so long since he was human and felt things the way they did. He had long gotten over that, but every so often it panged back into him. The feeling of other. The feeling that though he may command Space, there was still so much between him and others.
Phantom slid off the box he was sitting on and approached Hood. The beings around him scrambled; to get out of or into his way, he didn't know. Hood refused to move. Phantom stopped in front of him.
"I grieve with you," He spoke through still healing vocal cords (deadaloneafraidpainnononoIwanttolivenonoIwantmyDad-) and let the tears he had hardly noticed holding back began to fall. "Your grief is mine, and I grieve with you," And then Phantom began to Sing.
It wasn't in any human tongue. It didn't use vocal cords so it wouldn't strain the child's (a child) body any further.
It echoed and reverberated through the warehouse and heard as others began to sob underneath its weight. It was loss. It was grief. It was despair and pain made into a noise and driven into the soul in horrible, haunting melody.
But there was hope. Of course he added hope, this wasn't the end. Trauma and memories would remain, as would scars, but healing would be found in time. A new joy of lost loved ones coming back because they would not truly rest until they did. It wasn't the end. Not a goodbye, but until I see you again.
Death was not the end.
His Song tapered off in one final warble that rang through the warehouse until silence returned. The people within stared at him. The pretty magic user sniffed heavily before lowering her head. Good, she knew the significance of a Song delivered by one of the dead.
"We are honoured," She spoke tremulously through her own tears.
Phantom inclined his head in return. "The honour is mine," he replied. Then paused. "Hood?" He asked.
"What?" The man asked, voice warbling and broken through his helmet. There was a sharp burst of static that might've been a sniff.
The edges of Phatom's vision through this body was darkening and blurring at the edges. He had forgotten a lot of things about blood loss. Like the dizziness that came with, lightheadedness, and fainting.
"You might want to catch. I don't think adding a concussion to the list of injuries is a good idea," Phantom collapsed in a rush of darkened vision and briefly feeling strong arms catch him and hearing buzzing shouts before he was out.
Tim gets sacrificed in a ritual to summon "the ALL powerful conqueror, Phantom". And by sacrificed, I mean Tim really dies and Danny is forced into his body forcefully.
There's no coming back from that. Not even after the cultists are stopped.
Tim: You made my boyfriend cry. You're gonna WIS-
Danny: Don't say the W word!
Tim:...You better hope you find a good enough hiding spot. It won't work, but it'll at least delay the inevitable.
Danny, at 17, did not have the best love life. This is partially because two of his must haves in a partner are " Will protect me with their life" and "Will commit unspeakable acts of violence for me" or at least beat someone up for his honor.
Naturally, this doesn't always result in the most stable of partners.
His first girlfriend, Valerie, became an anti-hero and broke up with him for his safety.
He finally got with Sam in sophomore year only for the feds to come into class one day to arrest her. To his surprise, her crimes had nothing to do with ghosts but rather an incident where she went too far and committed a few acts of economic terrorism. Danny and Tucker never really learned the specifics of the crimes, and her parents hushed up as many news outlets as they could, so there wasn't much info to go around. All they knew was that she saved thousands of lives by doing it.
In the end, she was sentenced to eight years, and she broke up with him so that he wouldn't wait around for her to get out.
His third partner was a guy named David who was really sweet. Unfortunately, Danny got kidnapped one day by David's arch nemesis, who was some villain with a corny edge lord name. Yeah. David had become a a super hero after they started dating.
And if you guessed that he freaked out and dumped Danny for his own protection, you'd deserve a cookie.
Danny was noticing a pattern here. One that continued with everyone he dated. They always became some kind of hero before dumping him for his own protection, and it was infuriating. Sure, danny could defend himself, but he was never deep enough into the relationship to reveal his phantom half, and frankly, his hero career was something he left behind when he left Amity and destroyed the portals.
He met Tim at a skatepark after Tim fell off his board cause of some jerk speeding out in front of him on his own board, forcing Tim to stop or else hit the guy. The guy was unrepentant and Tim calmed him down (this did not stop him from melting the guys wheels with an ectoblast when no one was looking).
Tim then asked him to coffee. Danny, noticing how cute Tim was, agreed.
Danny was up front with his parents being mad scientists in Illinois. He always was with all the people he dated. It was better not to hide these kinds of things or worse, wait until you're already attached and afraid of losing them. So he always told potential partners as early as possible. Tim seemed a bit put off by this but was calmer about it than most, and they continued chatting.
Tim didn't seem like the type to turn to heroism or anti heroism so he felt safe on their later dates. It was only after he had known Tim for a while that he put the pieces together.
Tim was always covered in bruises that he hid with his clothes and make up, he had complained about batman over the phone when he thought danny could hear, he was rich, he knew how to fight as revealed by his stances and footwork dispite trying to pretend he didn't, and lastly he held a lot of political power and influence being Bruce Wayne's son. Power he had no reservations using when it suited him or he was just feeling petty (that pettiness was part of why danny was falling for him harder than he thought he could)
No wonder Tim was so okay with his parents being rouges.
Tim was a villain!
At least Tim wouldn't leave him like all his exes. Danny doesn't think he could handle it if he did. Another good thing about this is now he can talk more freely about the more villainous and morally gray ideas and inventions when he was alone with Tim.
Tim didn't see anything wrong with Danny's idea to use something similar to cloning pods to make synthetic meats like rump roasts and steaks as a way to end world hunger and was eager to add to the conversation.

Since they're black bears, you go on the offensive. Big, loud, and threatening. Scare them away. If it was an Eight Brown Fucking Bears opening, you go on the defensive. Play dead. Minimal moves. They smell fear. If they were white bears, you have the bishops make peace with their gods and send forth your people as sacrifices in hopes that they will sate its hunger before it reaches you.
I'm still pretty new to chess, can anyone tell me what I'm supposed to do if my opponent plays the Eight Fucking Bears opening? I'm really having trouble.
There is too pure for this world Marvel iterations, and then there's slightly unhinged Marvel iterations.
"I can't drive, but I can hotwire it for you,"
"Cap, why do you know how to hotwire a car? Cap? Marvel!?"
Green Lantern: We need someone to drive the car. Cap, why don’t you get behind the wheel?
Captain Marvel: Nope, can’t do that.
GL: What? Why?
Cap, secretly 12yo: I…don’t have a license. It’s irresponsible.
GL: You don’t ha- This a covert mission! Just drive.
Cap, never even played Mario Kart before: It is my moral obligation to obey all traffic laws.
GL: Just drive the car!
Cap: YOU CAN’T MAKE ME

"So do you know how you're able to do this?"
"No, but I have a theory,"
"What is it?"
"So, you know the Geico gecko they use in their ads?"
You adopted what seemed like a normal gecko. One day, it starts walking on two legs and learns to talk back to you in your own language.

He's taking notes. Lex thinks his plan is working and he's going to have a dedicated sidekick/apprentice. Danny is just trying to figure out how to forward this to Superman. He's got his own crazy billionaire, thanks, and one is more than enough.
Vlad names Danny his successor and Lex, under the assumption that Danny is evil like Vlad, starts trying to get Danny to join him like he failed to get Vlad to do by revealing his evil plans.
Danny just stands there like ._.
Sam: Mom, I thought you said he was a scourge upon the family reputation and you hated him?
Pamela: Yes, and he still is, but he's OURS. No one else can have him. Especially not The Waynes.
Family Traditions
The Mansons and the Waynes always had a...rocky relationship. Starting with Alfred facing off against Ida on the battlefield during his time in the British secret service. And cursing when the girl scurried out of his sight.
Although they no longer wanted to kill each other (maybe, they had children to take care of), their rivalry prevailed, and they could start fighting over anything. It was one of the reasons Ida attended to the Wayne Gala and only the Wayne gala. Just to upset the butler.
And this didn't just stay with them, Pamela HATED Bruce Wayne (and the feeling was mutual). They attended galas since they were kids and he was the most fucking annoying person she knew. She couldn't believe how he fooled everyone with "the playboy Brucie", he was obnoxious. And smarter than people gave him credit for. (Also, Pamela was pretty sure he was gay anyway)
Sam didn't want to follow this family tradition but when Damian Wayne tried to stab her with a cooking knife (after she kindly gave him an advice, taking responsibility as the eldest between them), the war begun, again.
Danny started attending those galas only to see things explode after being told this piece of information by Sam. The entire Manson family knew about it but the Waynes had no idea why the Masters heir was there. He even brought popcorn!
"No," He says with a fire in his eyes, teeth bared in a snarl, "You people aren't taking my kid again,"
"This is the first time we've attempted the ritual," the head of the order protests, "You are mistaken,"
"No," the man says again, almost spits it out like it's covered in acid, "It may not have been you that took him. Probably ain't even the same world that he already saved. And you know what happened? He did it,"
Head Mage Pofinerus smiles, and steps further into the jaws of a lion. "Then it must work! He is already a hero, he can save us. He returned to you a hero-"
"He returned to me covered in blood!" The man roars.
He was called John, short for Johnathan. A normal name, for a normal man, who lived a content life with his son, who on holidays and every other summer lived with his mother. His son was the light of his life.
His son stepped out the door one day with a smile.
His son knocked on the door one day, like he didn't have the right to be there anymore.
His son woke up screaming some nights, and would cry out horrors John didn't understand, but wished he could if only for his son.
His son stared out the window some nights, and asked John to remind him the name of the constellations because he had forgotten their names in his time away.
So, so long away.
His son.
His child.
His baby boy, whose voice had only just begun to crack when he stepped out the door, and who knocked on the door with dead eyes.
"No," John said again, perfectly enunciating the word in a way he hadn't seen his high school theatre class, "You don't get to have my son. You don't get to hurt him anymore. I can't fight the monsters underneath his bed," John pumped the shotgun and leveled it at the robed creep in front of him, "But I can sure as hell fight you."
An order of magicians attempts to summon a child hero with a pure heart to save their world from evil forces. They instead get his 40-something-year old dad, with a shotgun.
