Me: Passionately Argues With Ignorant, Misogyinist People Who Throw Tantrums About Feminism 'just Hating

Me: passionately argues with ignorant, misogyinist people who throw tantrums about feminism 'just hating men and inventing problems', I use the real ideas of feminism, statistics and real stories from real women, to prove that what they say is full bullshit

Also me 10 minutes later: sees a radfem acount talking about how the Y chromosome contains sociopathic behaviour making every men (including trans women) evil from birth, and every woman who dared to get married or give birth betrayed women, with hundreds in the comments praising 4B

Nitpicky hyperonline post

Tbh it’s a bit weird when I see Radfem posts about the trans-ification of tomboys that say that they’re ’turning them into men’. Because you know, they’re not? It’s a quibble but it’s worth remembering when that 20 year old draws random vaguely masculine female character with top surgery scars, that isn’t an act of sex bending. Mind, there’s a long history of sex bending in fandom spaces- it’s a fictional space so it’d be really easy to go, ‘this is x as a male’, but they go out of their way to keep the character female and advertise cosmetic surgery as a way to make them ‘more themselves’. Admittedly this frames the whole thing as deeply sinister- I don’t think people saying ‘hormones would save them’ have actually thought about what that statement implies or who it benefits.

Mind, I’m bi, but mono-sexuality isn’t this mystical impossible to understand thing unless you insist your experiences of the world are universal. It’s actually really easy to believe someone likes one thing and dislikes another even if you enjoy both things.

What Happens When A Country Bans Spanking?
NPR.org
Researchers look at countries that have prohibited corporal punishment for kids and their rate of youth violence.

Now a new study looking at 400,000 youths from 88 countries around the world suggests such bans are making a difference in reducing youth violence. It marks the first systematic assessment of whether an association exists between a ban on corporal punishment and the frequency in which adolescents get into fights.

You know what’s funny?

In the early ‘10s there was this idea of ‘color blindness’ among white people- not actual color blindness but the sentiment, ‘I don’t see race’ as a solution to racism. We kind of realized that saying that doesn’t actually solve anything? It usually just makes you refuse to acknowledge racism exists both in you and the world around you ie ‘I can’t be racist, I don’t even see race. I just see people <3 The lack of black people in my employment is merely a coincidence and I’d totally hate white illegals immigrants just as much as their nonwhite counterparts it’s just about respecting the law.’ Acknowledging race to them was often, ‘being the real racist.’

We now have a situation where people are ‘sex blind’ they don’t even see female people they just see people <3. And what’s funny is race is significantly more ambiguous- there’s actually arguments one could make about not referring to race during discussions of police brutality. I’d disagree with those arguments but they’d at least have some vigor, meanwhile abortion bans exclusively impact people based on sex but we’re supposed to pretend it’s effect is on this general notion of ‘people’. ‘People affected by police brutality’ and ‘people with the capacity to become pregnant’ come from the same damn place.

you are a bad person if you didn't believe the gaiman allegations the first time.

Tbh it reads especially hollow when the ‘skirt go spinny’ crowd mocks the ‘I’m just a girl’ crowd. When a man does the same schtick they eagerly kiss his ass and feminism suddenly becomes being a killjoy asshole who hates women.

I have preestablished biases and beliefs about the world, I acknowledge that and am willing to adjust with new information shared.
