More training faces π Finally, I managed to draw extreme up and down angles. Next up will be left and right π
I am also playing around with light and shadow and still need to figure out how I can make the eye area. I know it's somehow bent inwards but I couldn't quite get it yet. I guess there will be no way around as I draw left and right.
(so exited to see if I could make some crazy animation stuff with that knowlege π€©)
Yup, more background practice. This time a trip to the rooftop in a city at night.
I went a little further and started experimenting with colors. And this is what came out.
I also decided that his hero name is Superspeed.
(I'm still worried that he looks really similar to Denki...)
Also happy that this could be a good step towards creating comics π
Note: I made a picture of myself for drawing the hands and man, that made it a lot easier.
Ookay, lineart is done. Color will have to wait until tomorrow.
And yes, I didn't outline his scar but this time I didn't forget about it! I'll draw it as I color it.
(And is it just me or do the cogwheels look weird? It kind of looks worse in the picture...)
Okay, I stopped working on the previous sketch since something about it was not right. I'm not sure what but it felt weird and I didn't like it.
Instead I moved on to the next one. Sadly, I forgot to make a picture of the sketch before slightly erasing but I wanted to show it nethertheless. So, here's Eijiro in his hero costume
Can't wait to line and color it π
I am currently trying to draw my characters, but since I kind of struggle with that, I decided to take a break from that today and rather start figuring out how to write about them. Then I realized, it's probably best, if I first introduce the main idea that connects all (/most) of them.
As I started, I had two things: motivation and an idea.
After I played Undertale for the first time, I discovered the huge fandom behind it and realized that the world I loved so much had a whole other dimension to it (literally π). I saw the great content people made, like art or music. That made me plant the little seed of motivation into my head. I was thinking, maybe I could make something that great as well.
That was the moment I started to write a story. I didn't feel too confident to draw anything, so the best thing I could do was write. I was really proud of how it turned out. It was pretty basic and stuck to the normal game. I also had this idea (not the one I was talking about up there, but it's important for where I am now) that I was suppressing, since I wanted to focus on my AU.
One evening, I decided to give that idea a chance and after I kept dreaming the entire night about it, I spent the entire morning putting it into words. The phase after that, I call the downfall. My problem is that I am a perfectionist. So I kept rewriting the chapters until I finally managed to break the story for myself. After ten attempts, an almost finished first chapter with thirty pages, almost a year time spent running in circles and a couple other reasons I finally managed to kind of let go. (I still think there could maybe the possibility that I might be able to tell that story, but for now it's best to leave it behind. I also kind of can't let entirely go. For example: I use the main character in my profile pic π)
After realizing that I needed to stop since it lead nowhere, I needed something new to be obsessed with. While writing, I also wrote down a couple of ideas for potential later characters. And as I reviewed what I had collected, I realized that two of them would fit quite well as a duo. First, I still wanted to include my old character as well, but I let go of that after another month.
Now, that I've explained my motivation, it's time to present my idea! (... why is this becoming so long? π )
I wanted to take the concept of the genocide run in another light. I mean sure, there were so many worlds out there, where people just killed for fun or they didn't have another choice. My first characters lean more into the category of it being an accident. Since this was the main concept I was going by, I called my AU 'Club of Genociders' (by now, I don't really like that name but it still fits and I have currently no better idea how to name it.)
After FINALLY having explained my main concept (and rambling too much π) I can tell that this little idea snowballed into such a huge story. I am still struggling to put it all into words, so I figured it's best to share what I have to avoid making the same mistakes again. but what's most important, I love the way everything is evolving. From the characters, over the storyline to major plot twists. I also realized that I keep adding new possible characters to the story (not sure if I'll include them all though. That really depends on how the story turns out.)
If you made it this far, thanks for reading π (I really didn't want to make it that long π )
And originally I just wanted to sketch something meaningless but it evolved into me drawing my character from that session π
Let me introduce you to Nayra, my Tiefling fighter.
I am also lately obsessed with drawing with original art supplies like pencils and coloured pencils. (I am also currently trying myself on watercolours but we shouldn't talk about that π)
Since I forgot to post a picture of the sketch before erasing, I thought: maybe I'll just post my coloring process instead. But guess who forgot to take a picture again.
Jupp. So moving past the first stage to the second. First off, I layed out the base colors but only with minimal pressure. Now I drew in the shadows with a darker pencil and also minimal pressure. Next, it's about to slowly make the colors more vibrant and mix differnt layers of colors to get the exact one I need.
And yes, I did forget about the scar again but added it just after this post.
And if anyone needs a tip on how to get vibrant colors with pencils, start with minimal pressure and keep layering more and more. In the end you can go over the color with more pressure.
Name: Ike
Age: 15
Gender: human - male
Ability: explosive soul
Backstory
After Ike fell to the Underground he befriended Monsterkind. As his AU got attacked and he tried to protect his friends, Ike got heavily hurt and accidentally destroyed his AU. As he was left alone in the white void that was left of his world, Zero decided to take care of him. Since then they're living together in the 'backdoors', a place that Zero created.
Abilities
If Ike's HP drop below 5, his soul starts to glow and erases the entire AU he's currently in. He is also able to redirect energy into his fists and perform power-punches.
Appearance
Ike is wearing a striped orange shirt, blue jeans and orange sneakers. He is also wearing bandages. These bandages were given to him by the monsters before he destroyed his AU. Zero upgraded them, so they would heal him periodically.
Personality
Ike has a sunshine-like personality and always tries to be kind and cheerful. Due to his soul trait, bravery, he is still hotheaded and competitive.
Been doodling. That's my OC Percy. He's a cute one ... also a poor soul. I made him being hunted by a ghost.
Jupp, we're getting there.
Still need to get a name for him...
Okay I made a sick sketch
It's tiny (like on the corner of my sketchbook) but I saw that pose and I was thinking like, okay this is EXACTLY how it looks when he uses his quirk so I scribbled down the pose and then drew him.
I want to make that in big. With markers. And maybe even make a background. And hang it on the wall to Kirishima and Denki.
And I was also thinking of something funny. The way he would describe how he fights with his quirk:
I can use my quirk as a weapon. Just think of it ... like a table. A table isn't dangerous, right? Then you accidentally drop something beneath it, try to pick it up and while getting back up you hit your head against the table. Although, it's just a table, it still hurts, right?
(I'm not sure if I'll allow him to reshape his forcefields but if I do, he would add:
Now imagine the table being a spikey pyramid...)
I'm getting into playing minecraft again π
Made myself a new skin for that and wanted to draw that as well, so I guess I ended up with a new profile picture as well π
Here a picture of the skin I made:
And a fun fact about me: I never really manage to get into the late-game stuff, because I restart way too often. So the strongest tools I ever get, are ironπ
