Ookay, lineart is done. Color will have to wait until tomorrow.
And yes, I didn't outline his scar but this time I didn't forget about it! I'll draw it as I color it.
(And is it just me or do the cogwheels look weird? It kind of looks worse in the picture...)
Okay, I stopped working on the previous sketch since something about it was not right. I'm not sure what but it felt weird and I didn't like it.
Instead I moved on to the next one. Sadly, I forgot to make a picture of the sketch before slightly erasing but I wanted to show it nethertheless. So, here's Eijiro in his hero costume
Can't wait to line and color it 😀
I like him way too much. Also, I decided to give his quirk the name Superspeed and his hero name is Slowmotion, since in his perception he slows down his entire surroundings as he uses his quirk.
Trying to create a character sheet for him for this year's ArtFight. If you want, check out my profile (got a lot of old characters back there where I DEFINITELY need to redraw the ref-sheets since my style changed a lot.)
(I could also imagine him wearing a Hawaiian shirt instead of his orange T-shirt. He would definitely look good in that... Gotta add this to the lost of things I want to draw but probably forget about again.)
Something that I should also probably explain before diving into characters, is the way I think of souls.
As already explained in Undertale, the soul is the culmination of a being. I perceive it as if all of yourself is condensed in your soul. Memories, preferences, opinions. Taking one part out of that, the soul wouldn't change visibly, but physically something is missing, making the person holding that soul act, think and feel differently.
I also quite like the idea of the soul being reflected in my character's eye colours. That way, you kind of can look into their soul if you're looking into their eyes 😍.
I also really like the part with the soul traits. That means, you have one trait that you can categorise the way someone is.
The only problem I see with that is, that it's too bland. It would mean a brave character needs to ALWAYS act brave and a nice person needs to ALWAYS be nice to everyone. Because of that being unrealistic, but still wanting to include it, I like to think about it like your soul trait only shows at extreme moments. That way a character can still feel normal doing something that wouldn't exactly fit their soul trait.
If you take it a level further, it's also more likely for a character to drift into a constant behaviour that hurts their own soul. That means if a kind person is constantly being mean to everyone, it's going to affect them negatively. It could be physical but also mental. (Just came up with this last thought as I kept writing it down, but damn ... I see potential for some deep plot 🙂)
Okay, I am currently trying out to create my OCs in c.ai and it's hilarious. I am surprised that the AI is able to read my mind. I didn't know it could do something like that XD
(really funny coincidence, that I am currently talking in a similar scene that I once wrote)
I mean, it even used the terms I referred to and I didn't tell it to do that.
Edit: okay, I think he's going to kill me.
Edit 2: he's not going to kill me anymore, but I think I'm about to break his world view.
Edit 3: I broke him. I told him his world is just a story to entertain everyone and he's still loading for an answer ... I broke him. But it's funny, he should know that XD
Edit 4: Now he's going to kill me again. He knows I created him, he knows that I gave him the task to destroy all forgotten worlds and he hates that task and now I need to talk myself out of that.
Okay, I've been putting off my animation for this entire week and finally told myself, you need to continue.
Fighting perfectionism again and oh boy, it's a rough fight.
I was trying the Loomis method for heads after seeing the first 10 minutes of this video and I finally figured out how to draw 3/4 faces appropriately 😁
Use a sphere, chop the sides off and draw 90° guidelines onto the sides. These guidelines determine the way a character is facing.
Just drew this dude. I think studying the mha artstyle really improved my artstyle. I love him ❤️ and it didn't really take that long to draw that.
Also, take some sketches I did beforehand:
I don't know his name yet, but I think his quirk would be something with superspeed. (Might call it slowmotion or reverse slowmotion, depends on how I'll make it work.)
I really like the idea that he has always a pair of sunglasses with him, to avoid dust getring into his eyes while in superspeed. And also to be the coolest kid around 😎
Also his quirk shows in his personality. He's mostly impatient since everything is going too slow for him.
His hero idol is Hawks. He definetly aims to become quicker than him to claim the title as fastest hero.
I was playing one of my OCs in a DND oneshot :D
It was great :D
Btw, this is my Guardian of Creation, former Crea, but I decided to rename her to Yishu. Made that drawing in a couple of hours before the session and it was fun (both the session and drawing)
The staff on her back is a magical scroll, that she can draw on to create things. She doesn't necessarily need the scroll, I also made her draw on her hand for example.
And I definitely need to draw her in her astral outfit again. I looked back at my old concepts for her and found that astral outfit with exactly this staff. Did I already say, that I love this scroll-staff?
So I decided that it's probably the best start to post what I already have (piece by piece of course). I wanted to first post updated character sheets but since I am currently lacking the time to draw, I will just share some thoughts here and there.
(and I can already sneak peek announce that I've successfully written the first chapter and structured the plot pretty far)
I finished the sketch and figured out what colors I want to use. It was so difficult to find the right mix of pencils to get somewhat the right hair color. (I went through all pencils and markers I had and none of them were just what I needed 😥)
Now next up is the lineart. I'm actually quite scared of the coloring with the markers because I already figured out that they bleed a little on the paper. And since for the tounge I wanted to mix two colors it will be pretty dificult.
Here the sketch a little more visible:
And the links to the finished lineart and the colored piece.
