Oh my Gods, yes. How did I not think of it. I'm sure you've already written a way better version of this. But I'm going to give it a shot if you don't mind.
(forgive me if there are any mistakes, English is not my first language and I am dyslexic)
I hope you like it.
For a rare occasion I was actually at the camp fire. I don't wanna hear it, Jason insisted. And, I will never admit this out loud but, he said some people were kinda picking on him. Or as he said 'making fun' of him. So here I am, on a late summer night. Sitting with him around the roaring fire. He's managed to convince me let him have my hand, I'm not a big fan but if it makes him feel better I couldn't care less. Most people have already left, leaving only a few people around us. Jason's talking to some Hermes kid, and I can't seem to decide if he sounds tired or nervous. I squeeze his hand, he squeezes back and I relax. Looking into the fire like it would do me any good, sitting here reminds me of meeting Hestia. She sat right were I'm sitting now. She hasn't been here for a while, she probably been busy.
I glace over to Jason as his fingers tense up in mine. Another Hermes kid (he's maybe 16) has joined their conversation. Jason shifts a tiny bit closer to me. Nervous. They haven't said anything rude or weird, but just having them here making him nervous and me mad. How do these boys think they are, I let go of his hand, firmly resting my arm around him. He eases slightly, putting his left hand over mine. We lock fingers. Out of nowhere, the older one decides it's time to test the waters. "I mean" He laughs "You're mother wanted nothing to do with you, your father doesn't either, and no one here wants you around. That must feel.." The words alone have me urging to jump up. But the tone, the audacity, the laughter, no God damn way I'm letting that happen. The younger Hermes kid laughs along. "So wonderful" The few other campers around look over. I chuckle and pull my arm back, raising from my seat next to him, a spot in the dark.
"What now?" I ask, my voice filing the silence. Even the crackling fire seems to go quiet at the challenge. The youngest boy shy's away from the fire. But I call him back "Don't think you can out run me" I warn. He returns to stand at the oldest side. The youngest is a little shorter than me, that would be an easy one. The oldest, about Jason's height, so half a head taller than me. Doesn't matter though. Jason tugs at my hand, I vaguely see him shake his head in the darkness. I shake his hand off. "Do wanna say that again?" I demand. The youngest who hadn't really said anything, shakes his head wildly. "N-no" He mutters. The oldest laughs crossing his arms. "You don't scare me. I said that no one wants-" I cut him off with a punch right in his mouth. Hopefully knocking out a few teeth. The youngest runs away, but I don't notice anything else then the fact that the oldest just hit the ground in front of me. I get in a kick between his legs, and curls on on his side. The only sounds left in the air is the sound of the fire and the bitch groaning. A few other campers chuckle. I crouch down beside him, feet in front of his face. There's a little blood dripping down his chin.
"Leave him alone, got it?" He grimaces and stutters "Y-you fucking psycho!" I chuckle and kick him square in the teeth. That'll hurt to fix. "Got it?" I repeat. Louder this time. "Yes yes!" He yells through the blood spilling out of his mouth. There's blood on my boots. I'll wash them "Nico" Jason's slapped his hand over his mouth. I push myself off the ground and walk back to where Jason is sitting in either awe or in disgust. "You didn't have to do that, I could have handle it on my own" He mutters. "We both know you won't gonna, so I did" I take his hand and pull him up. "Come on, let's get out of here before the little one comes back with Chiron" I say, turning to the firepit. As if on cue the fire dies down, so that everyone around it can see me standing here. "None of you say anything" I grumble. The few vague silhouettes nod, some chuckle and I chuckle along.
On the way back to my cabin, Jason argues with me over the fact that it was not necessary. I kindly remind him that all the times he defends me are not always necessary either. After that, he shut up, and just swings my hand back and forward in his.
Sure Jason is protective of Nico but you can be damn sure I’ll write one about Nico defending Jason.
There might be mistakes, i'm not great with grammer in any language. English is my second language.
You knew Spencer would be late coming home tonight. If he came home, so you decide to indudge yourself by looking around his apartment. You hadn't told Spencer you were staying over until he came home but figured you didn't need to. He'd be happy to see you, right?
You'd certainty be happy to see him again. When he'd rushed out this morning you were barely awake, it was around 4:30 and he'd kissed you goodbye and along with an apology for ruining your weekend plans of staying in with him.
You'd had half a mind to grab him by his tie and drag him back into bed, but not the strength to do so. So that was you got, your weekend of cuddles and kisses turned into no cuddles, and one kiss. You're not mad but a little disappointed to have his job yet again ruin a planed weekend. While you yourself are in the FBI, you're in a white collar crime unit and therefore you're safe from being called in on your days off.
You try to be understanding, but sometimes it sucks to left alone in the early morning hours. You'd thought about going back to your own apartment, but decided against it. You'd just cleaned op after dinner, and definitely didn't look through his entire kitchen out of pure curesoist. You put on your favorite music before looking through the first of many bookshelves.
You find a book that looks a bit out of place. A book you know isn't Spencer's normal type. It's the romance novel you've been rambling about for almost a week now. Maybe you left your own copy here by actident and Spencer set it away without looking closely. You pull it out and run your hand over the cover. It's not the same addition as yours. It's a newer. Why would Spencer have your favorite book?
If someone else left it here Spencer would have returned it emetlltly.
You yelp as arms settle around you. You hadn't heard Spencer come home over your music.
"I figured you'd find it eventually " He murmurs, pressing a soft kiss to your neck. "Don't scare me like that!" You reach back and half heartily slap his side. He huffs. "Don't snoop around my appartement then" he mumbles, swaying the both you of you from side to side.
You find this behavior odd, sure you like it but it's not normal for Spencer to initiate physical touch. "Hey.. You alright Spence?" you ask, setting the book back on the shelf. You'd discuss it later. You wrap your arms around his. Spencer tucks himself further into you, face burried in your neck. "Tough case?" You question, knowing it had to at least an important case for him to be woken op at 4 in the morning.
"Mhm" He finally hums. You're sure this case was a couple, maybe a boyfriend killed his girlfriend or the other way around, it's the only good reason for Spencer to act like this. "A couple huh?" You ask, maneuvering around to look at the man still clinging to you. He won't met your eyes, only hiding his face in the crook of your neck. "Mhm" you hear him mumble some more but you can't hear him clearly. "What was that Spence? " You ask, gently rubbing his back.
He pulls from just enough to be understandable. "The wife and the mistress killed the cheating husband and left him naked and wrote 'cheater' on his chest with lipstick, then dumpped him in front of a strip club" His breath sends a shiver own your spine. "Damn okay, that's a lot" You say, letting him hide in your embrace. "I'm sorry.....Are you hunrgy?" He shakes his head. "Well, couch cuddles?" You ask, sliding your hand op into his hair, ruffleing it slightly. Spencer nods and you drag the both of you to the couch. Spencer moves to lay under you and you let him, hoping the pressure would help calm him. You settle atop him, carefully avoiding his hipbones knowing laying on them would make you both uncomfortable.
You lay your arms around his neck, shivering as your top slides op and reveal a bit of your lower back. Spencer's arms wrap tightly around you, warm and comforting. You don't bother turning on the TV, only wanting to enjoy Spencer's company. "Spence" You say, shifting slightly. "Yes?" He answers, shifting under you as well. "Why do you have that book anway?"
"You've being talking about it for a while, i wanted to know what it was about"
"So you going to read it?" You asks, laying your head in the crook of his neck, pressing a quick kiss to his skin. "Is that a promblem?" Spencer asks, grazing his hand op under your shirt to feel the warm skin of your back. "No, no i'd love if you'd read it. But be warned" You chuckle "It's not as innocent as it looks"
"I think i'll be alright" Spencer mumbles, sounding tired. You close your eyes, it's not that late, but it's the weekend so sticking to a sleep schedule isn't a high priority at the moment. "Thank you darling" Spencer mumbles. "What for?" "Being here"
"Of course, i love you"
"I love you too"
I laugh as Nico and I come around the corner of the Zeus cabin. Nico pushes me again, covering his mouth to stop laughing. We're at my door for a while, laughing, gently shoving each other, until we both calm down enough to say goodnight. "Oh well" Nico chuckles, holding his stomach. My face hurts from all the laughing and fun we had tonight. "Goodnight honey" I hold back more laughter and lean in for a small kiss. Nico's cheeks spread into an even wider smile, and he leans up to meet me. "Goodnight Grace" He mutters muffling another laugh. I open my door, and wave Nico off. Despite the fact that today was Bianca's birthday and the day started of real shity, we made it work. As I shed my shirt, I realize just how tired I really am. I yawn, sitting down on my bed to get my pants off. I throw my clothes on the floor and head for my window, cracking it open a little to cool down the room. It's a hot night in the middle of summer, so it won't get too cold if I open the window a little. I drag myself back to bed, getting comfortable under a light blanket. A blanket with lightning that Nico gave me for my last birthday. I snuggle into it, the day's joys weighting me down, I've been op since 5 am this morning, so it is bedtime for me. I shift, laying down on my stomach, I lay my arms under my pillow and try to settle in. But it's too hot, so I kick the blanket off. It hurts my hips, so I turn over laying on my back to stare op at the celling. It takes me a while to fall asleep, but when I do drift off, I'm in a happy sleep. I'm half waken by my door creaking open. I reach down to grab my sword, wrap my fingers around the handle ready to threaten whoever came in. But then, there's a small sniffling, I look op, eyes having adjusted to the darkness, it's pitch black in my cabin. "Nico?" I murmur. There's a small, almost sad sound of acknowledgement. I let the sword drop from my hand, sitting op. I reach over and rub my fingers on the candle on my nightstand. I snap my fingers on the wick. It lights op and I pull my fingers away to not burn my myself.
In the low candle light, I can vaguely see Nico standing by my door, holding onto the handle. Nico's dressed in gray sweatpants and an old hoodie of mine that I gave him. He's crying, oh right, night are hard. "What's wrong baby?" I yawn, swinging my legs of the bed to get Nico. "I, I'm sorry" He sniffles, wiping his nose on the sleeve. I shiver in the weirdly cold cabin, how's that possible. I glance over to the window, it's been blown off the hook and wide open. I rush to close it. Strange. I walk to over to a slightly shaking Nico. "Hey, it's okay" I wrap him around in my arms, gently pressing his head to my chest. He cries, clinging to me like I'm the last real thing in the world around him. I don't ask, because I don't need to. It was another nightmare, most likely about Bianca. I walk us back to my bed, gentle feet moving back. He wails, trying to explain but it's so incoherent that he just stops trying. I run my hand down his back, a gentle touch I hope would help. On nights like this, it's all I can do, try to help him calm down, try to just be there for him. I sit on the edge of the bed. Gently pulling him down with me. He let's me, planting his knees on either side of me. He lays his head on my shoulder, his tears spilling down his face and onto my shoulder. He sobs into my shoulder, crying and babbling on about the nightmare, It's still really fucking incoherent, but it doesn't matter, because it makes him feel better. So it doesn't matter if I understand what he saying, he probably won't understand what he was trying say in a couple hours. "And, and she was, the river, and, and she, fell" He squeezes me, clinging onto me like if he go I would disappear. "I know" I whisper. I'm both hoping and not hoping that what he's describing is only a dream. But I'm not sure either of them would make me feel better. If it's only a dream, then how did his mind come up with it. If it's a memory, then, it must be fucking terrifying to relive.
To see your sister fall into a river, and not get out. Is down right traumatic. He's never told me much about his sister, it's hard for him to talk about. Understandably so. She raised him after their mother died, and then she left him and also died. The room falls quiet as Nico stops speaking. The tears too much to manage while talking. He pulls his head away from my shoulder, wiping a lot more tears away with the sleeve. His eyes tell me everything I need to know, he's tired, he's sad, he just can't take any more nightmares, he can't take more nights like this. "I know, I know baby" I hold onto him, as tightly as I can. "We'll get through it" I gently run my hand under op his back, a small gesture I hope would help. "Mhm?" I ask. "Y-Yeah" He sniffles. He yawns through tears. He's tired, he should stay here. "Come on" I gently pat his back. "Bed?" I ask. A tearful Nico nods, shifting off me. I get op, and grab my winter duvet to sleep with, because it's gotten really cold in here. I blow out the candle and I settle back in bed with him, pulling the covers over us. Without a word or any hint, he tucks himself into me, arms loosely wrapped around my hips, and his head tucked into the crook of my neck. Snuggling into me. I wrap my arms around him, holding him tightly. He breaths in my scent, letting the familiar smell calm him down. His breathing slowly returns to normal, but he's still shaking a little. I inhale the lovely smell of Nico, he showers at night and then again in the morning so he smells of some kind of soap, in my half awake state I can't be sure what it smells of. But it's Nico, My Nico. Even with everything he went through, and all the consequences of what he went through, everything I went through, and all the consequences of what I went through, we stick by each other. Because we have to, Nico has no real family, and I only have a sister who I can't really see. We're there for each other, we don't leave, we promised we'd do anything to stick by each other.
"Jason?" He mutters, voice more clear but still shaky and a little hoarse. "Yes?" I murmur back to him. "I'm sorry, I shouldn't have woke you op for this, I could have dealt with it myself" He murmurs, muffling his words into the skin of my neck. A small shiver runs down my spine, I should have put on a shirt. "No no no baby" I gently pull his head from my neck, caressing his cheek, bringing it op to my face. "You should have woken me op, just because you can deal with it on your own, doesn't mean you have to" In the darkness I find his lips, placing a light peck on them. "And I don't want you to" I whisper, warm breath against his lips. Nico doesn't respond how I thought he would. He doesn't say a word, only leaning back in for another kiss. I let him, it's a light kiss, the kinda kiss we have when one of us are upset. Light and fluffy. "Wake me op if it happens again" I mumble. Nico makes a small sound of yes before tucking his head back into my neck. "I will" He mumbles.
"Goodnight baby"
"Night"
Parring: Penelope Garcia x Spencer Reid x Derek Morgan
Summary: Penelope comes home to an upset Spencer and Derek trying to comfort him. They help Spencer feel better.
Penelope is so excited to get home. Derek and Spencer took a personal day, while she wanted to join them. She was called in on an emergency and had to leave her little boy with his Daddy. It's not that they don't get along when Spencer's little, it's just that it's harder for Derek to understand him. She hurris op the stairs, so very exited to see her little boy and her co-caregiver and boyfriend after being gone until the night hours.
When she opens the door, she's greeted with a sence she's not happy to see. Derek's trying to get Spencer to take his fingers out from his mouth, and Spencer is having none of it. He's chewing on his fingers and he does not want a teether and he's in tears over this. Derek's desperately trying to calm his tears. "Mama!" Spencer's cries are muffled as he rushes Penelope. She takes him into her embrace and he burries his head into her neck. Derek follows behind him, bright purple teether in his hand. He greets his girlfriend with a kiss. She gives him a very clear look.
What the hell is happending? What did you do?
Derek shrugs and Pen rubs Spencer's back. "Oh baby boy" Penelope snuggles her head into his as she contiues to rub his back. Spencer snuggles close and Penelope knows what she has to do next. She grabs ahold of Spencer's legs and hoists her sweet baby op around her hips. Spencer sniffles and wraps his arms around her neck. Derek sighs quietly as Pen brings their baby to the couch. They all settle down and Penelope motions for the teether. Derek slides op close to them, laying an arm around penelope. She taps Spencer's cheek lightly. Spencer pulls back, still chewing on his two middle fingers.
"You know you can't keep chewing on your fingers, you'll hurt yourself. I'm actaully pretty sure it's already hurting you and that's why you're so upset. So you wil either take this teether, or Daddy wil get you a pacifier. Okay? we just want our sweet baby to be happy"
Spencer slips his fingers from his mouth, still crying slightly and sniffling. "Paci please?" Derek's already op before Spencer gets to please. "That's better, no need for tears baby boy" She uses her thumb to wipe his tears away. It only makes Spencer cry even more. " 'm sorwy Mama" He cries, useing his balled op hands to wipe away more tears. Pen contiues to rub his back soothingly as her little cries. Penelope grabs a tissue and wipes Spencer's face clean of tears and snot. "It's okay, i think you owe Daddy an apology too, don't you?" She asks, almost completely sure he's given Derek a hard time. Spencer nods, lips draw into a sad pout. Derek returns with Spence's favouite pacifier, a kinda clear, plain, light purple pacifier.
Derek goes to pop the pacicfier in his mouth, and he looks rather confused when Spence's hands come op in claws and he pushes it back. Derek glances to Penelope for back-op, she nods towards Spencer. The little grabs his Daddy's hand, glancing to Derek's eyes for a breif moment before focusing on his collarbone instead. " 'm sorwy for givin you a hard time Daddy" Spence mumbles. Derek sighs happliy, holding the pacifier infront of Spence's mouth. "Thank you sweet boy, but it'll be a better apology if you take your pacifier now"
Spence leans forward and takes the pacifier into his mouth even though Derek's not let go of it yet. Derek craddles his cheek as Spence absentmindedly begins to suck on the pacifier. "There's my good little boy, where have you been all day?" Derek teases, dragging his finger tips over Spence's neck, tickling the small boy. Spence wiggles and squeals in Penelope's lap. Penelop tickles his sides and Spence tries to slap all their hands away but fails. He contiues to squeal and wiggle so much that the pacifier drops from his mouth and his gigles and squeals fill the apartment. Penelope's heart melts at her little Spence having fun. "Stop!" Spencer cries with a pout, mood suddenly turing sour again without something to chew or suck on. They do, and Pen grabs his pacifier from between them. She offers it to him and he takes it easyliy, settling down. "Are we having a hard day baby?" Penelope asks, hoping for more insight to her little's mood. Derek pets his cheek. "Yeah, I think we're having a rough day"
"Don't say that, you don't know how he feels about today" Penelope angrily whispers as she leans closer to Derek. "You haven't been with him all day" Derek hisses back.
Spencer whimpers, scrambling off Penelope's lap and down into the counrer of the living room curling into a sad ball of tears. "Oh, sweet boy i didn't mean it like that, i just..." Derek hurries op and to the crying little. Penelop follows, staying a step away to give Spence an exit route. Derek tries to comfort him, but Spence shys futher away from him. "Little one" Penelope crouchs down "We didn't mean to upset you. We wanna help, can you tell Mama and Daddy what you need to feel better?"
Spence stops rocking and takes the pacifier from his mouth, starting to mumble as he stares at his own feet. Penelope can't understand him at all. She glances to Derek, who also can't understand him. He conitues to mumble and cry. Eventually Spence throws himself at Derek. While Derek is confused, he takes the hysterical boy into his lap. Peneplope slides op next to them and lays an arm around Derek. "Baby, Mama isn't sure she quiet understands what it is you want. Are you hungry? Cause Mama wil get you a snack if that's it" She asks. Spencer turns his head, pacifier back in his mouth. He nods a bit. Penelope smiles. "Okay, Mama wil get you a snack. How else are we feeling? You comfy in those clothes?" Pen asks, gently tugging on Spence's shirt. Spence shrugs and Derek follows his expressions closely. "Oh, ah!" Derek curses himself. "This is my fault, i'm sorry" You both look to him in confusion. Spencer more confused as to why Derek's taking the fall for his behaviour. "Why got op early to say goodbye to Mama and we were gonna stay op and then you'd" He boops Spencer's nose. "Take a nap later, but I forgot" Derek sighs to himself. It all clicksfor Penelope "You're grumpy because you're a little sleepy bug! So Mama's gonna fix you a snack" Penelope pushes herself off the floor. She ruffles Spencer's hair. "While Daddy gets you ready for bed" She hints to Derek, gently pinching his shulder before walking to the kitchen. "Alright kiddo, let's get you in your pj's"
Penelope fixes a small kid's plate of, crackers, apple slides with peanutbutter, two small string cheese's with a juice box. Derek brings back a clearly sleepy Spencer dressed in his little pj's. Penelope brings the snack to the couch and Derek brings Spencer. They settle down with Spencer sat in Derek's lap as he eats his snack. Normally the two would give Spencer a bath 20 mintes before bedtime to give his hair time to dry. But they'll have to skip it tonight, she doubts he'd stay awake long enough for a bath. Spencer eat about half before turing it away. Penelope sets it away in the fidge. Penelope finds herself tired too.
They all snuggle op in bed with Spencer in the middle. Spence yawns and turns to snuggle with Derek. Penelope wraps her arms around Spencer's wasit as Spencer snuggles op to Derek. Derek take him into his arms. Derek kisses Spence's forehead. The little one is asleep in minutes. So is Penelope.
Luke knows he saw Reid putting something in his mouth, at first he thought it was a breath mint, but what mints come in a round blue container? None.
They've been together for a few months and well Luke is aware of Spencer's, special behaviour, and the fact that he has an autism assessment in a week. On the next Wednesday. Luke tries his best to susport him and what he needs but it's hard when Spencer won't tell him because he's embarrassed.
Luke get's in the drives seat, glancing and hoping to spot the blue thing. "Ready to head back to the office?"
"Actually, would you mind dropping me at the metro?" Spencer cutches his bag close to himself. Luke's demeanor takes a dive. "Of course Spence, are you sick?"
"No..." Spencer mumbles, rocking back and forth slightly
"Hey, tell me what's wrong" Luke coaxes gently, locking the car so they won't be bothered. Spencer whimpers a bit, bouncing his leg. "I just...need to go home"
"I can drive you home, why would you wanna take the metro?"
"I just, need to be alone"
"Spencer, anything you need to do to feel better, you can do around me" Luke promises. Spencer bounces his leg a bit more, looking uneasy. "Promise?" Spencer grabs for Luke's hand and Luke gives it to him to hold. "Promise Spence" Luke says again, gently squeezing his hand.
Spencer pulls out a chewable necklace and begins to chew. Luke does his best to not react, only starting the car to take Spencer home. Sure it's, unusual. But if it helps, then it helps and that's all that matters. Plus, it's harmless, and a lot of Spencer's other self soothing isn't. Spencer's leg is bouncing restlessly as Luke drives. That in is self is not uncommon, but the fact he isn't rocking, not even slightly, is very different. So the, chew thing, is helping.
"How long have you kept that from me?" Luke tries to stop the question, but it comes out anyway. "A month and fourteen days.." Spencer admits, looking down, the chewable necklace still in his mouth.
"And what just is it cariño?" Luke asks gently, turning down the street to Spencer's apartment. Spencer doesn't answer right away, and Luke doesn't press, maybe he's gone non-verbal again.
"C-chewelry"
"What?"
Spencer whimpers and Luke squeezes lightly his hand "I'm not mad, just confused, i don't know what that is..... Do you need some quite?" Luke half whispers as they drive into Spencer's parking space, the parking space that is basically Luke's now. Spencer makes a light humming noise that Luke takes as a yes. So he shuts op. Helping Spencer out of the car isn't always easy, as his body sometimes just freezes op for hours. Luke smiles as Spencer gets out without a tug or a little reassurance. He simply follows Spencer op into his apartment.
By the time Spencer's gotten into more comfortable clothes and his body feels like his own again, Luke's made his bed op for him to rest. "Come on" Luke gently takes Spencer's arm, leading him into bed. Luke's sure he's worn out by now and while he sometimes thinks he's treating him like a child, Spencer's ever protested to the princess treatment. Spencer slips into bed, the chewelry still tucked away in his mouth. Luke would have thought he'd have given it op by now, but he's doesn't mind. It's actually pretty cute.
Spencer's eyes are half closed, Luke still has no clue why or how Spencer got overwhelmed today, but does it really matter? He'll ask him tomorrow. For now, Luke tucks himself in behind Spencer, holding the extremely tired man in his arms.
My family is still staying in half of the church that wasn’t affected by the bombing because there is nowhere else to stay other than tents. They are limited to one small meal a day and one shower a week. They are sleeping on the floors, but no one can sleep since there is bombing everywhere around them. Even when there is no bombing, they can still hear the loud buzzing sound of the military planes above them, which would keep anyone who hears it awake. Along with everything, My grandma has diabetes and osteoporosis, so she can’t walk. She has to take her insulin medication along with many others; however, she has run out of many of her medications.” Am on my knees requesting for donation. Target $450
I'm sorry to say I'm not in a position to donate. Spread this around to people who can.
You wake to a soft tapping sound against the windows. You glance to the slightly open bedroom window, you never liked sleeping with the windows open but Spencer has reasured you countless times that having a slightly open window on the 6th floor of a building was a 0,000085 percent of any violent crime.
There's rain pelting the windows, sending a chill through your bedroom. You snuggle in close to Spencer's neck, pressing yourself flush in behind him.
Spencer makes a small purring sound, the cutest sound he makes when he wakes op. You press a small kiss to his neck, shushing him gently, hoping to not derail the rare night of good sleep he is getting.
"Don't shush me" Spencer half groans, shifting against you. "Why are you op?" He asks, fingers grazing you arm. You sigh, you really didn't want to wake him, but Spencer is and will always be a light sleeper. You nuzzle close to his neck.
"Just the rain, sleep"
"The rain?" Spencer questions with a yawn as he reaches down and tugs the covers op to your necks. "Mmm, sound, temp. Just sleep"
Spencer relaxes into your grip, and soon enough he's back asleep. The rain has always been a comforting sound for you. But not at night, at night any rain, soft or harsh wakes you and may keep you awake for hours if you let it.
Spencer shifts, snoring lightly. You remind yourself that you too rarely get a good night's sleep and close your eyes. To help yourself fall asleep, you go back to an old favorite trick. You slowly slip an am away from Spencer.
You feel around your nightstand, feeling the familiar texture of your earplugs. You pop them in and wrap your arm back around Spencer. You cuddle close, burying your head in the crook of his neck and getting a leg back between Spencer's. While that started as something Spencer asked for, it's become something you do out of habit. It's a nice touch for you both.
It takes only a few seconds for you to fall asleep behind Spencer.
