Thinking about an AU where Mobei clan leaders get soulmates

Like when they do the whole king ascension thing, their demon mark appears on their soulmate, and a part of the reason Mobei Jun took Shang Qinghua down is because he just knew it would be him

He watches as Linguang-Jun is defeated and SQH turns to him, the mark having appeared on his forehead, a perfect mirror to Mobei Jun’s, only for SQH to tell him how badly his demon courtship has been failing and then leave

Like he just got confirmation that the person he’s loved for the majority of his life is his soulmate, and they can now get married, only for said soulmate to go on about how badly he’s been hurting them over the years and leave.

And poor SQH in some inn somewhere trying to cover this mark with tears in his eyes because, how can he possibly be Mobei’s soulmate when Mobei has been beating him and treating him like an expendable servant all these years

And when linguang Jun find him and he calls for Mobei, and then makes his demands, Mobei gives a very emotionally stunted apology and admits to his anger at SQH leaving and at having been yelled at by SQQ when binghe came to find out what tf was going on w the closed borders

Then SQH does what he does and talks the both of them to an understanding, and they live happily ever after, hurt/comfort style :)

(And get a big giant northern wedding ofc, with no small amount of binghe trying to figure out how to soulmate-trap SQQ like the man isn’t already his husband)

I remember drawing this with the sole purpose of angst and exploring Loid’s inner turmoil about his “fake” family that he, in fact, loves very much lol. This is one of my favorite comics I have done and I hope you guys like it too if you haven’t seen it before.

Sasha Waybright is a Dakotaraptor…

(Both prey on Oviraptorids, luckily Anzu is big enough to fight back: Don’t worry they’re still friends here.)

Marcy Regina Wu is an Arctic Troodontid.

(She may be small, but she’s craftiest hunter of her time.)

The Plantar Family and by extension all Frogs are Beelzebufo. (So basically nothing’s changed)

Captain Grime is a Saurosuchus: Not a dinosaur, but giant “Land crocodile” that rivaled dinosaurs.

General Yunan is a Megaraptor: Not actually a “raptor,” more related to Tyrannosaurs.

Lady Olivia is a Olorotitan.

King Andrias is a Koolasuchus…

Or a Mastodonsaurus.(which is even larger/scarier)

The Ghost and Molly Mcgee-

Molly Mcgee is a Mononykus.

(A little bug chaser in a big world)

Darryl Mcgee is an Ornithomimus.

(A stone cold criminal)

Libby Stein-Torres is Liaoningosaurus: The tiny armored dinosaur that wants to be a turtle.

(Immensely popular and seemingly cold, but warm and soft deep down)

Scratch is the ghost of a Dimetrodon: Long before dinosaurs even came to be.

Geoff is Moschops: Basically the same but nicer.
