It's been talked about to death and back but. JSchlatt joining the DSMP, only ever logging on for lore purposes, playing a fan fucking tastic villain that was an absolute joy to watch on screen, equal parts menacing/intimidating and goofy, completely stealing the show and perfectly matching the silly-but-serious energy of the lore up to that point, doing that for 1 season that I still think is one of the most impossibly coherent and thematically powerful pieces of roleplay media to date, and then having his character die after he'd run his course and never logging on again. was completely fucking legendary. He knew exactly what he needed to do and he did it flawlessly then left.
Sebastian did not learn the lesson🥲

WAIT i just rewatched episode 1 and ivy was found "near gristle" and the grizzly bear was found "up in gristle" COINCIDENCE I THINK NOT ‼️
So I've been writing stories, playing TTRPG and doing basically anything which would require one to come up with a character. Problem is,
Of course, you can build a character's background, their job, their zodiac sign, but what I'm really missing is how to find out how these characters would actually behave, their mannerisms, the way they talk, all of that which makes a human unique and more than just a stat block on a piece of paper.
(It's why I'm writing fanfiction a lot, I know the characters and can sort of guess how they'd behave but it is beyond me how I should do that from scracth so to Tumblr I go pls send help, sincerely, a writer desperately wanting to write original stories 👍)
you know when you finish a series and then you're just expected to keep on living your normal life as if that didn't fundamentally change who you are
how is sherlock coming !! did you finish it i need to know
I'm still at the very beginning, I'm gonna finish the blind banker today so-
(also I don't have every episode available, but I should be good until season 3)
So far, it's pretty good, it's very interesting how many of the memes / gif sets I've seen on Pinterest are in every episode
I'm very excited to watch the Reichenbach Fall though, I've seen a thousand snippets of it but I wanna know how it actually went down
when the fandom is so small that everybody knows everybody
Sneeg was talking about Red Faction and how he thinks the people put on the faction were not good picks for that. Pretty much all of them are passive people who don't stream often. He basically says he thinks more consideration should have been taken about the type of people chosen to be on Red because there are people who would have done great for Red's goal of killing other players (himself included) but the ones chosen were just....not that. It takes a certain type of person to be able to take the hate for killing characters and it's understandable some people wouldn't want to deal with that. I also think skill level wasn't considered either. A lot of the people on Red were silly and comedic people who ultimately are not very knowledgeable in minecraft and don't possess the skills to trap people who do know the game. And then there's also the fact that Red Faction joined late and had to play catch up when it comes to grinding and it's almost impossible to kill someone who's higher level than you.
Like.....it just never was going to work. Every aspect of the Red Faction was not thought out and it's become increasingly obvious by how it's the biggest faction and none of them ever want to log on. Only two of them even attended the ball and one of them switched factions halfway through. No one wants to be on Red Faction and none of the current Red Faction members have the skills or resources to reasonably get a kill. I'm really hoping Tubbo and the server admins just accept that whole concept needs to get scrapped or have a complete overhaul. Maybe make it so people can join Red Faction for a reward (and leave if they want) and it doesn't feel like a punishment both in and out of character
Fanfic is a free hobby.
It's one of the last few things we can have as a society that's free. You can engage, for free. People give you things (art, stories, etc), for free.
Don't buy into the consummerism just because it's everywhere else.
You don't have to consume everything you interact with. You don't have to use things, just because they exist.
You're allowed (still, for now), to have things that are enjoyable for free.
Do you realise how insane the world is? We don't have many places where we can just be, for free anymore, but ao3 is. Did you notice we don't have ads in ao3? We don't have pop ups? Where ELSE do we not have that?
Where else can you just go and not have to wait for a commercial to be over or for ads to be on the sidelines?
I don't think the younger people understand, but the whole of internet used to be like this. YouTubers would do Youtube for free, just because. You couldn't monetise your internet presence before.
Ao3 is like a little preserved corner of the internet where the old internet used to be, and it's being attacked by people who do not understand that free things are allowed to exist without judgment.
Please don't ruin this for us.
Some of us need it.
