saw a one piece live action character impressions post that pegged luffy as having daddy issues which is hilarious to me because luffy has, like, the opposite of daddy issues. he has daddy solutions. if you hang out with luffy long enough, your father-related angst starts to resolve. this has happened to multiple characters.
Honestly, at this point I'm more impressed that the Sunny's crows nest can support multiple one ton weights than whatever the hell this exercise Zoro is doing

just went a mile past my destination following some directions bc the guy said “it’s the first house on the left after it becomes a dirt road”
and my hillbilly ass went a whole mile waiting for the dirt until I finally realized that I must be in a place where this is considered dirt:

I am alway confused when people (generally ZoLu shippers but not only, nothing against the ship itself though) characterize Zoro and Luffy's relationship as "Zoro is so obsessed with Luffy that he would follow his orders like a living weapon, no question asked".
Because don't forget that Zoro's role in the story has sometimes been "non ironically yell at Luffy because he is doing something Zoro really has a problem with".
Like, how could you forget "If Usopp does not apologize and you welcome him back anyways, then i am getting the fuck out of here. We're pirates, not school children" ? I also remember a few "Hey Luffy you better take things seriously right now stop joking around" post time skip. Zoro is totally devoted to the Strawhat pirates and their captain, and was notably ready to risk his own death against Kuma to save him (even if at first he was like "if you stop me from becoming the strongest swordman you will pay for it") but he also has his own principles which are not always aligned with Luffy
This right here is actually why I love zolu so much. Zoro is devoted to his crew and his captain, but he isn't at all a Luffy worshipper. He knows Luffy's strengths but he's also well aware of Luffy's weaknesses and shortcomings.
Although he is similar to Luffy on a lot of ways, (I do love me a good dumb and dumber duo) he also acts as Luffy's direct counter in many situations, balancing out his personality. Telling him to step up when necessary, bringing him back down to reality when he gets carried away, and overall pushing him to be a better captain.
And the best thing imo is that he's not afraid to be harsh about it.

I was scrolling through twitter reactions to the newest chapter of One Piece and all the zoro fanboys were creaming themselves like he's the goat, pouring honey on him, he's yonko level and then one stan was like "luffy's got nothing on zoro he'd get bodied in a second" and I swear it was like a swarm of bees on this man all these zoro stans flew upon this dude like locusts saying the same variation of "what are you talking about zoro would suck luffy's dick anytime any place" "how fucking dare you that's his captain bro" these dudes are just one tumblr blog away from writing 10k fanfic on ao3 bet we just gotta open their third eye y'all

So I looove the live action but I'm soooo annoyed that they pretty much gave nami all of sanjis parts in baratie arc. Because a part of sanji even joining the straw hats in the first place is from watching zoro fight Mihawk. There is so much important dialogue from that scene that actually says a lot about sanji. And you know I could be getting nit picky because the live action can't exactly give EVERY detail the original show has obviously. But character changes feel weeeeird. Like Nami also was changed because she watched the fight and ...gave a shit?? Like why would she give a shit? 😒 at that point in the og she was already gone and dealing with her own things. It honestly gives me...woman emotional so woman care about everyone thing. But that's not namis character...it could be another classic case of a lot of male writers don't know how to write women FR. Oda is obviously an exception lol I also hate when they change characters for the one piece movies too (like Nami in strong world for example 😑) anyways rant over ahaha it doesn't bother me enough to not love the live action tho. I just love Nami and the og more lol
