Can we talk about how *safe* Atsushi and Akutagawa feel with each other
How much they're connected to each other is actually insane
They have innate trust with each other (Akutagawa even gave his coat to Atsushi), and they're comfortable with each other, it's wonderful
I think the best depiction of canon "domestic sskk" per se, is in beast
The direct passage from the beast light novel is:
"They continued to shoot the breeze for the next few minutes or so. Both boys shared small yet profound experiences that their colleagues would never be able to understand or even empathize with. The two of them could just be kids, something they seldom did around others.
'This is the first time I've ever been able to talk to someone like this,' the white-haired boy said with a chuckle."
They can relate to each other so strongly, they're opposites yet they feel intertwined. God they have such a well written and like at this point really romantic relationship
I really like how beast can show us a new perspective on sskk (among other things in the Bsd universe), comparing their first meeting in the main series to their first meeting in beast is kinda crazy. When Akutagawa nor Atsushi has the prior information of who they work for, they can get along. In a world with no abilities, no Mafia, no detective agency, they would know each other so well
Also, I'm sure Akutagawa has smiled more than twice in the series, but both most memorable times he's smiled they were both directed at Atsushi (one smile was the one he gave Atsushi while he told him to run before dying, second smile was in beast, shown in the picture above)
It's like Atsushi brings out the best of him, and vice versa. They're just so *perfect* for each other ðŸ˜
I will always love their parallels and similarities, their relationship balance is a perfect representation of the yin and yang
Atsushi knows he can't bear to live without Akutagawa. Akutagawa knows that Atsushi is the only person he's ever met who really, truly understands him. And no matter how much they're in denial about how they're a lot more than just "rivals", they still scream each other's names when one of them gets hurt, because they both *care*
Akutagawa is definitely going to go feral in the next chapter or so oml
hey can you get down real quick so i can whisper evil plans in your ear? thanks

Concept:
I love the idea that in the beginning Dazai tried to mimic how he’d seen others in law enforcement act.
Given he was going to join a detective agency.
One he didn’t exactly know much about other then the Port Mafia’s biases and assumptions of them.
Namely that they were a bunch of goody too shoes who obeyed the law above all else.
And how the second he meets his new partner that he’s completely thrown for a loop. To the point where Dazai seriously wants to sit Mori down and ask if he’d ever met any member of the Agency.
Like ever.
Because the Agency may operate in the light and aid law enforcement but they are a grey organisation.
Dazai recognises several of their clients but what confuses him is that the others are more then aware with their affiliations.
But a job is a job.
Kunikida feels like he should be the poster child for responsibility. And yet he’s the one proposing that they go steal someone’s car.
His ideals aren’t as black and white as they first appeared to be and it fascinates him.
Dazai was already ready to go play nice and smooth things over when the cops got in their way. Only to stand there in shock as Kunikida fearlessly lectured them.
Demanding that they get out of his way because lives are at stake. It takes a second but then Dazai’s right there with him following along.
The Agency are like 4 people who’ve banded together and vowed to save lives and protect this city no matter what.
With whatever methods they see fit to do so and they are loved and feared. With bonds that are forged by stars and every bomb, chainsaw and gun at their disposal.
And Dazai adores them.
Listen Fifteen is Dazai assuming that Chuuya’s some loud brash idiot and how he gets that completely wrong and paying for it.
And I love the concept of that theme carrying on here.
nahh what wrong with my fnaf brah
My Father, My Universe
Thank goodness
I will never get over how much Not by big theif suits Akutagawa
Atsushi seeing Akutagawa's abuse almost first-hand was NOT on my 2025 bingo, I can't believe I lived long enough to see this–
Concept: The Bsd Beast version of chapter 122 is Beast Akutagawa trying to open the door and all his fallen friends standing behind him.
His better halves all helping him open the door.
Thinking about what the Beast version of these current manga events would be.
And somehow it’s even more heartbreaking.
Because Beast Akutagawa has already gone through the pain of losing the people he cares about and blaming himself for it.
The Agency became his new home and now he’s losing them too.
Beast Kunikida, the man who hugged him close and told him he wasn’t evil. He smiles at him now as he fades away.
Beast Junichiro, the boy who came to his aid when he tried to walk a painful path alone. He tried to fight alone to spare him and is taken out with a pained smile.
Beast Kenji, the boy who took his hand showed him he was never alone. His hand is still in Beast Akutugawa’s grasp.
The President apologises but it’s Beast Akutugawa who should be sorry.
Its all his fault.
He’s a jinx. He’s a curse. He couldn’t save his friends then and he can’t save them now. He drops to his knees as the divine being floats closer.
Beast Akutagawa doesn’t fear death. But he’s terrified of being alone in this wretched world. His sister wants nothing to do with him, if shes even still out there now.
But at least now, he can return to the new home he forged.
He closes his eyes and surrenders himself ti his fate. He’s sure the Man in Black is watching in amusement but he doesn’t care.
Oda…I’m sorry.
But before the blade can strike something stops it. Beast Akutagawa looks up stares in surprise at his apparent saviour.
Though he supposed it made sense that the day he let himself die, he’d come face to face with the Reaper.
