Another life changing read?
These are just two of my beauty bibles! I literally say this all the time but beauty starts from within. What foods you put inside of your body matters a lot more than you think and if you want to have clear skin, glow with health, look vibrant, grow thick shiny hair and strong nails, and radiate beauty overall you should consider refining your dietary habits. You need to eat pretty to be pretty.
I continually refer to this book as a trusted source of information and whenever I need to freshen up my knowledge, overhaul my diet, need new recipe ideas or feel like I am becoming lax. It's filled with information on how to have a good relationship with food, its implications for our health , and how to prevent damage and support our bodies. The author's philosophy encourages holistic health, the book doesn't espouse anything harmful or restrictive ideas though.
The book is filled with lessons that are clear and straightforward, absolutely beautiful graphics, lists, tables that I love to revisit and it has helped me a great deal to improve my diet, give my fridge and kitchen cabinets a makeover, create my own eat pretty pantry staples, and turn the kitchen into a beauty command center. The first book is also structured into seasonal chapters, each featuring the staples of that season.
As someone who has undergone extensive education and coursework in biology and chemistry, I appreciate the thorough explanations regarding ingredients and their impact on our physiology, specific roles of various phytochemicals and nutrients, and how we can switch our genes on and off with food and lifestyle. The book is firmly rooted in science and supported by substantiated facts.
A healthy diet is one of the best ways to honor your beauty and body.
This has been top of my mind for quite a bit but you need to tailor every metric. Individualize the data, elevate the game. What worked for her will very likely not work for you, nobody can offer you their blueprint to success because their story is not yours. You can take inspiration from the effective methods the girls have worked with before but tailor it to fit your own circumstances. Assess your cultural background, you can use geographical mobility and strategic relocation, and start building and leveraging connections, or develop and foster new hobbies and interests you genuinely enjoy, you can apply mindset shifts and strategies if needed, learn the languages that open doors for you, and start deciding how and where you invest your money to upgrade your lifestyle while making strides with your career/education to paint a general picture. But seeking insights into someone's specific choices and experiences can come across as misguided and replicating someone else's path won't give you their results because your personal narrative is one that only you can author. The only way forward is through action customized to you. There’s no shortcut, but the fastest way forward is understanding who you are and your current situation, while calculating every move based on your strengths, opportunities, resources, and realistic goals.

It's not fair
I used to want to be something bigger than myself. I wanted to make an impact that lasted longer than I did. But I learned the way to do that isn't by trying to be bigger than you are. You do it by taking up the space you naturally fill in every moment. You do it by loving the people who naturally come in to your life. You do it by gracefully handling the hard circumstances that naturally occur. You do it by being a friend. A conversation with a stranger makes a bigger impact than a voice to a crowd ever could. Your love for one person can change generations. It's quiet. It's humble. Impact isn't always measured by numbers, it's often times measured by a single life. Your impact may be quiet. But it's rooted deep. May it flourish in ways you may never know about.
Perspectives shifts to make peace with this:
• Disappointment is unavoidable; it’s part of being human.
• Putting yourself first doesn’t mean you care less about others.
• You can’t pour from an empty cup—your well-being matters.
• People who truly care will understand your need for boundaries.
• Disappointment is temporary; resentment from overgiving lasts longer.
• Prioritizing yourself sets an example for others to do the same.
• Your worth isn’t tied to how much you sacrifice for others.
• Saying “no” to others is saying “yes” to yourself.
• You’re responsible for your happiness, not their expectations.
• Growth often feels uncomfortable, but it’s necessary for a fulfilling life.
• Family expectations can feel heavier, but you’re still allowed to set boundaries.
• Disappointing them doesn’t mean you don’t love them—it means you’re human.
• Your needs matter, even if they don’t always align with family traditions or values.
• You can explain your choices, but you’re not responsible for their feelings.
• Loving your family doesn’t mean sacrificing yourself.
• Putting yourself first can strengthen relationships by reducing resentment.
• Healthy boundaries lead to healthier family dynamics over time.
• It’s okay to grow in a direction that feels right for you, even if they don’t understand.
• You are not obligated to meet everyone’s expectations—family or not.
• Peace comes from accepting that love & disappointment can coexist.
Sadly, it’s one you’ll never forget
