Need help finding a fic.

The issue is I don’t remember the name or the plot, just one specific scene. Which doesn’t help as I can’t remember if it was a part of the actual plot or if it was some sort of flashback type of deal.

Anyway so the thing I remember is:

Chuuya and Dazai get into a fight after completing a job. Chuuya chooses to go back to HQ in a huff first, leaving Dazai there.

Oda (who was assisting or part of the clean-up?) was there so Dazai wasn’t too bummed out even as if he felt a bit bad about the fight and somewhat unsettled. Oda offers to make sure he gets back to HQ with Dazai being his annoying self to brush it all off.

His misgivings are not misplaced as Chuuya encounters Q when he gets back to HQ who wants to play with him as Dazai refuses to play with him. Q curses Chuuya and that inadvertently triggers Corruption (though they don’t call it that as this is the first time Chuuya shows that side of his power so this part at least is before DHC since I don’t remember if SB is mentioned later).

When Dazai arrives in a hurry, haven given into worry, Chuuya is wrecking everything and clearly not his usual self. Q is crying and hiding beneath a bench. Dazai at first orders him to stop using his ability as he doesn’t see the doll, but Q reveals he did stop using it but Chuuya didn’t stop being weird and destroying stuff.

So Dazai does end up nullifying Chuuya and they’re both left wondering what the hell all that was about (and there’s casualties as well - I think the fic implied that this was the incident that lead to the decision to lock Q up though that also caused more carnage).

Unfortunately, that’s all I remember so if you recognize it and know what this might be from I would be extremely grateful. I’ve been looking for it for days now but not knowing the title, tags, or summary makes it hard to find.

So one of the most common problems people have with DC is that they won’t let their characters stay dead, it makes something that’s supposed to be a big thing that will permanently change other characters and the world around them feel like a pointless footnote. The obvious solution is to let them stay dead, however I would like to offer another option that is specifically geared toward the Robins.

They die but they don’t stay dead, it happens over and over again, their loved ones are stuck watching them suffer and die again and again only to come back and have the cycle repeat. No matter what they do death always finds them.

They lose sight of what life actually means because their own seems to mean nothing, they start struggling to understand things that use to make so much sense, like why people fight so hard to survive or why death scares so many, because they know they’ll never get to actually be dead.

The public starts to view them as demons or gods or something, because they’ve seen Redhood be stabbed through the heart, they’ve seen Nightwing fall and break himself on the concrete, they’ve seen Signal overload his powers and burn from the inside out, they’ve seen Red Robin’s head be crushed by block of stone, they’ve seen Robin choke and spit up blood before falling still because he was dosed with poison, they’ve seen Batgirls throat be slit, they’ve seen the birds die in dozens of horrific ways and they’ve seen the affect it has on the bats, but the birds come back, again and again, but every time they come back they look sadder, like less came back.

The birds don’t view themselves as the gods the public does, they view themselves as servants, servants of Gotham, of the people, of justice and vengeance, they can only pray that when their job is done they will be able to rest.

Disney just launched a teaser trailer for Encanto, and I am in love! The story takes place in Colombia 🇨🇴 (where my family's from!) and follows a young woman named Mirabel who doesn't have any powers, despite the rest of her family having them.

The trailer looks absolutely beautiful with bright colours and music. The characters look so cool. And MIRABEL LOOKS JUST LIKE ME! 😭 It feels so good to be able to see my culture being represented so stunningly, without gangs or cartels being involved. It's amazing that I know have a Disney character that LOOKS LIKE ME. Her big nose and short curly hair with tanned skin, AND CULTURAL CLOTHES! And the diversity in this movie is on point too! 'Cuz I noticed a cute little black kid and I think there was a white character as well, alongside a couple tanned (probably indigenous descendant) kids as well. Which is nice because it acknowledges Colombia's native and black populations, who are at the center of Colombia's culture! Overall, I can't wait for this movie!

Okay, the one thing I’m confused about because of the new F9 trailer. Dom and Mia are siblings, right? So unless Mia or Don’s brother are half siblings, they should be related....what do you think?

Oooookay buckle up because this answer is going to be longer than you expected because BOY HOWDY do I have some thoughts about the trailer and also about Dom’s dynamic in the series in general.

letting myself be vulnerable for the sake of being honest with myself and others, to be authentic, and learning to let go of the fear of being seen and heard. this is who I am. I care a lot, I feel deeply, and I want people to know that I like them and I want to be there for them. I want to live my little life to the fullest even though my chronic illness often gets in the way and won’t let me do all I want to.

I will be patient with myself and accept that my vulnerability isn’t necessarily a weakness or something that makes me pathetic and that I should hide it. I’m too tired to give a fuck. I want people in my life to know who I am, and I want them to know I care about them, and maybe that will help them feel less afraid of their own vulnerabilities too.

I will be my imperfect self, and I will own it. I am soft, and sensitive, but I am finally letting go of worrying about how people will perceive this. I have found a lot of resilience because I love this world so much, I won’t be anyone else but me, and that’s how I chose to be a part of this place I love.

And it does make me feel a little afraid, but it also makes me feel like I am strong in my own way. It helps me feel I am living life to the fullest.

I care deeply. This is who I am. I am owning up to it. I am alive and one day I will be looking back to this time and I want to know I have lived it to the fullest by being authentic.

Doylist analysis: Both JK Rowling and SE Hinton have the same issue with their writing, where they fail to fully separate THEIR heterosexual woman perspective from the perspective of their teenage boy protagonists, which is why both Harry Potter and Ponyboy Curtis spend an absurd amount of time commenting on how attractive all of the teenage boys around them are. 

Watsonian analysis: Harry Potter and Ponyboy Curtis are both exceptionally bisexual and just havent realized it yet. 

Okay maybe I'm grasping at nothing, but hear me out:

We all know Peter has spidey senses. He used them to defeat Mysterio in Far From Home.

But we see Peter struggling with them all throughout the movie:

(Peter not sensing the banana)

(Peter not sensing Nick Fury in the room)

(Peter not sensing everything around him in the pub was an illusion)

(Finally, Peter not being able to decide whether Happy is real or fake)

Now here we wonder, why is that happening?

Take into account the events of Infinity War. When Thanos snapped his fingers, unlike others, Peter could sense his death coming, that's why he fell into Tony's arms saying, “Mr Stark I don't feel so good”. Imagine such a terrible thing happening to you, feeling the pain everywhere yet not being able to fix it. This could and HAS led to post traumatic stress in Peter. PTSD leads to changes in the body and impotence is one of them. Also the added trauma of his mentor dying? Anyone's mind could've become fucked up after that.

“Okay, so where are you going with this?” you must be thinking.

Well, what if Peter sensed something was unnatural about the water monster (other than the fact it was a monster made up of water, of course) so he shot something at it, just because? But he turned out to be “wrong” because it went right through the drones. He was right about it, but he didn't know then.

Wrongly sensing something so big like that would have created some serious self doubt in Peter.

That's why he must have discarded every tingle in his skin that sensed the illusions around Mysterio in the pub. That's why he must have ignored the possibility of someone being in his and Ned's room. That's why he asked Happy if he was real when he got off the plane.

It's because he was doubting himself and the very abilities that made him Spiderman.

Peter wasn't dumb. He was right about shooting a web at the water monster.
