[ID copied from ALT: A four panel comic showing Noel, Arthur and John during the diner scene in part 39. Panel one: Noel, with his coffee cup to his lips, says “Well, I appreciate the perspective, but… with respect. I was asking John.” Panel two: John, blushes, says “W… What?”, while Arthur, with a shocked expression says, “Oh. I…” Panel three: Noel tilts his coffee cup towards Arthur and says “Presumably, John can hear me.” In the fourth panel, John smiles wide and says “I can.” Arthur says “He… I can.”
Two sketches based on malevolent part 39. The first sketch shows a bust of Arthur looking offended while John looks uncertain. Arthur says “you think I couldn’t do that if I could just see again?” And John says “well. I don’t know that’s why I’m asking”. An arrow points to a second sketch showing Arthur kicking a crying bleeding man into the floor while John looks down nervously. End ID.]
My two favorite parts of this episode were “John gets to experience a human connection” and “Arthur curb stomps a guy just to prove he can, probably.”
Bonus Noel/Charlie concept sketches and lil Arthur and Noel colors under the cut
His prey animal rage has bewitched me have a sketch

[ID copied from ALT: A digital two panel comic style illustration of Kayne and Faroe from Malevolent. In the first panel, labelled carrot, Kayne holds a sleeping Faroe in his arms. She has a halo, opposite of the black one around his head. He is looking at her almost softly and smiling. In the second panel, a close up of Kayne's eyes look direct at the viewer, no smile visible. The second panel is labelled stick. End ID.]

[ID: a two-panel comic of Arthur Lester from Malevolent. The background of the first panel consists of scribbled black strokes, on which John’s yellow dialogue is written. It is largely obscured by Arthur, but visible pieces say, “Oh, God, Arthur, they’ve skinned–” “Blood–” “Rotten–” In speech bubbles that further hide this text, Arthur is saying, “All right, that’s– JOHN, stop, that’s enough!”
In the second panel, Arthur has slapped his right hand firmly over his eyes. The black background has been reduced to a small, angry shape looming over Arthur’s shoulder, with slitted yellow eyes and a sharp-toothed open mouth. John is shouting, “HEY!” /end ID]
[ID: Drawing of Arthur Lester and John Doe from Malevolent. Arthur is sitting on a pile of rocks, one leg propped up, shaking his own hand while looking down and smiling fondly. a transparent claw rests gently on his left arm. He says: “I’ve missed you, my friend”. Arthur is a white man with dark brown, shoulder long hair and various scars on his face, neck and arm. he is wearing a nondescript dark blue jumper and some dark trousers with a long tear on the trousers’ leg. He has dried blood on his face and on his trouser leg. end ID]
not immune to whatever Arthur Lester and John Doe have going on,,,,
we talked about john wearing lipstick and leaving a kissy mark on arthur's forehead - he probably got the idea from a movie watching the female lead leave a lipstick mark on the male lead (i think he would get many ideas about how humans act from movies 🤭)((i also think he enjoys embarrassing arthur above anything else))
[Start ID: Two sketches of John and Arthur from Malevolent. Arthur is a stout man with styled back, dark hair, only one spit curl in the middle, and a mustache. He's wearing a coat with large lapels, a simple collared shirt, and a short tie. John is a very tall human with dark, curled hair, and pronounced cheekbones. He wears a headscarf tied underneath his chin and has 1930's styled makeup with dark eyeshadow, pencil thin eyebrows, and bright red lipstick. He's also wearing a fur lined coat with fur at the lapels and fur at the sleeve ends, as well as gloves. His fingers are drawn sharp, even while wearing gloves. In the first sketch, John leans down and kisses Arthur gently on the forehead, cradling his face with one hand. He says, "Thank you, Arthur". Arthur lets himself be leaned into the kiss, closing one eye on the side that's towards John, the other open with slight surprise. He has a small blush on his face and a stray hair has gone up to show his surprise. In the second sketch, Arthur looks blankly forward with a large blush on his face, up to his ears, and a prominent red lipstick mark on his forehead. Beside him, John is represented by a simplified head and laughs "Pft-" with an amused, fanged smile and a small blush. End ID.]
[ID: A digital drawing colored in a style with thin, textured, sketchy lines. It depicts Arthur and John sat at a piano, visible from the chest up while Arthur plays, and John has his head tucked over his shoulder. Arthur sings in cursive script: "I really can't stay..." and John sings along in all caps: "But Orthur it's cold outside!!!" "I've got to go away..." (in even bigger text, being cut off by John's shoulder: "But Orthur it's cold outside!!!"
The drawing under the cut is a small, sketchy doodle of John's full body. He has six arms and two legs outstretched beneath his yellow cloak, his eyes wide, and he has a santa hat. He says "but ORTHUR!"
Character designs: Arthur is a thin white man with blond hair, a scarred right eye, and a thin mustache. He wears a sweater with a Christmas tree. John is a humanoid, grey-skinned entity with long curly hair falling from his yellow cloak. His face has limited features, but his eyes are yellow half moons that trace lines of gold down his face. End ID.]
