Here’s the nakie!Crowley version, all finished.
Isn’t it grand!!
(She says she’s gonna do a clothed!Crowley for me to put in the actual story, but lookie!!
nakie!)
Nothing like undressing your personal angel inch by inch, and worshipping every bit.of skin revealed.
Excuse the odd bending because i had to panorama it because my yard's too narrow to step back any farther. Left side is final height. Center pieces have been cut, but im pretty sure i got it spaced out so it *looks* like all sections are equal. Bottom layer still needs to be leveled, and it's supposed to be nice this weekend, so I'm hoping to finish that in the next couple days. Crossing fingers, i alsobhope to get the "aquifer" lined by weeks end.
Looks like i gotta put that finalist patch away. Because we're fucking champions
May 1st 1990!
I first read the book about 10 yrs ago after my friend, who owns a used bookstore that actually does sell books; recommended it to my roommate ( @sentra04 ) and myself. I had been pretty deep in his catalog of “anything by Neil Gaiman” at the time and readily accepted the book. It was an absolute delight and a rather insightful as well as hilarious look at humanity, destiny, and free will.
We had liked it enough to talk about the book with another friend who lived nearby that I had met in an anime fandom, who instantly lit up and talked about how she had read it as a child and upon looking back, little her had “totally shipped Aziraphale and Crowley” and how she had “wanted them to spend their time in the bookshop drinking and talking together forever!” I definitely agreed with that sentiment.
In all honesty, my only complaint about the book was there was just not enough Aziraphale and Crowley in it.
Enter the Good Omens TV series. It came around at a time in my life when I really needed it, and was the loving adaptation this beloved book deserved. PLUS more of Aziraphale and Crowley to love and relate to. These characters helped me find a passion for my art again and were a bright spot in a world I hadn’t realized turned gray. Love of this book and show has helped rekindle and strengthen old friendships as well as build new ones.
So Thank You to @neil-gaiman and Sir Terry Pratchett for your wonderful book, and congratulations! And thank you to the fandom! You’ve brought me so much joy and made this blog a success. I had made it at the end of June last year for unrelated reasons (spite, anger and spite) and you’ve all helped to grow it into an active place to share a truly bright and positive experience. It has just clicked over to 900 followers this week and I’m so grateful!
To Good Omens and it’s legacy!
Turns out my last brick and mortar supplier no longer carries one of the essential pieces that I need for books; didn't find this out until about a week after i ran out and finally was able to get to the store. So .. purchased it online. Long story short, i hate fedex and over two weeks later (almost a month since I ran out) I finally have that missing piece. So... ALL of these got spine work today and I'm looking at this thinking.... I'm actually going to run out of books to work on by the end of the week!!! It feels good because my bookshelf is rocking right now, and it was so much fun, and massive love to the authors who gave me the green light; I hope they all love their pieces! <3 I've changed the way I've done quite a few things from this summer, and it was great to just get a chance to get back into book making. I hadn't realized how much I missed it. And... I *really* suck at leaving feedback, and it seemed the best way to show these novelists just how much their work meant to me. After this set, I'll probably take a book break and get caught up on some cross-stitch, but 2021? I've got a few stories ive got my eye on. =D https://www.instagram.com/p/CIJ5VZXlg2t/?igshid=1d8aoaj87nqod
Got my first tattoo today. @neil-gaiman : this series has meant so very much to me, not just the tv version, but the radio drama and the book that started it all.
Gave the artist Chance the basic idea and he did an amazing job, not just with the tattoo design but with the whole experience. I have high anxiety with new things already, and he and the staff of Aloha Salt Lake were amazing.
