Could anyone tell me how old at least one of the Batboys (jason, tim, dick, duke, damian) were when Alfred died, or if any of them didn’t exist? I’m blending new and old comics for my writing and I’m having continuity errors.
bruce certainly isn’t perfect, but he isn’t terrible either. i think one of the fandom’s difficulties in writing bruce is that he isn’t just good dad or bad dad.
now, im not saying i write him perfectly, but i really do try and get the layers of his relationships down.
it’s so obvious that bruce cares a whole bunch. he loves his kids (i just sort of ignore the bad-bruce-characterization in some comics lol). the small interactions and chats of batman and robin get these across wonderfully. it’s a shame that some comics completely reduce these soft moments through poor writing.
i got into dc through fanfiction, but the more comics i read, the more i just fall in love with the fandom. the way tim acts older than he is- the way he tries, but there’s always something deeper simmering within- it’s so incredibly.
also, the whole contagion story line? is that just completely unexplored by the fanfiction community? because ohh-my-god it has amazing potential and i’ve never seen anything work with it other than half-heartedly addressing it.
so yeah, im writing a little oneshot for it lol

Dick, Jason, and Tim talk about their greatest fears. Dick is pushy. It takes a moment for Jason and Tim to open up.
Alternately, when one sibling starts to cry, all of them start to cry.
hope someone gives it a read :> it was supposed to be a cute break from the doom and gloom
some more okay-dad!jack drake for you
i dont know if anyone finds jack drake as interesting as i do, but his relationship with tim really draws me in.
even without tim as robin, there is still something drawing them apart, like a mutual misunderstanding between the two. jack acts boarderline selfish in his raising of tim, but he's also grieving in the same way bruce and tim are.
instead of solving the root of the problem (even if tim would have nearly never caved), he sends his son away to cause trouble out of jack's sight. obviously, the writers had to do this for the sake of the story, but its still very sad.
people who blindly hate jack drake either see him hitting too close to home or haven't truly read him enough, and that makes me a little sad.
luckily theyre just comic books lmao
STEPH AND CASS MEETING
THE STARS HAVE ALIGNED
man cass has a badass costume
robin, impulse, and superboy all have nightmares while camping out.
tim's fears are always having to do with becoming too much like batman. like, every time.
TIMBIT CHAPTER 7 (timbits are individual oneshots)
Tim is dying of The Clench.
His condition is rapidly decreasing and Alfred doesn't know how he, Dick, or Bruce will ever be able to handle another loss.

i’m mighty proud of this one :D
people don't utilize tim drake's sneaky sneakiness enough in fanworks. he's a true bat.
also beast boy is just hilarious. im glad im seeing more of him now that im reading teen titans comics
you gotta wonder is tim's blood is just boiling under his mask of cool.
also bonus bart
ill never get tired of them
