Turkey

So, I noticed a little translation thingy with the word for Turkey in German:

Turkey

Well, that middle word might seem familiar! The word "Pute" is really similar to alot of "fun" words in other languages. Either spelled or sounds similar.

Turkey
Turkey

Even similar to, but not completely as close to

Turkey

Which brings us to This!

Disclaimer: I'm in no way an expert, but I am just a simple Goof who noticed a mildly funny thingy!

If your friend jumped off a bridge, would you do it too?

Somewhere on a train trestle overlooking a river.

Person A: "Let's Jump”

Person B: "I’m not going to jump off a bridge with you.”

Person A: “But, it would be fun!”

Person B: “No! This is stupid. We're going to break our legs.”

Person A: “Come on! It’s just water. This is the summer life! Just jump into the river.”

Person B: "No!"

Person A: "Please."

Person B: "No!"

Person A: "Sometime you just have to ask yourself: 'if your friend jumped off a bridge, would you do it too?’ Now, what would a true friend do?"

Person B: "..."

Person A: "..."

Person B: "The answer's still No."

Person A: “Fine. Now before you walk away and leave me to jump alone into this river with out anyone to keep me safe and watch out for me. Did you EVER account for the Buddy System? We have to stick together!”

Person B: “.......You got me there…”

Interesting Fact #1

Novels were forbidden in the Spanish colonies by the Inquisition. The literary genre of novels was seen as dangerous. Reading a novel could warrant one jail time and humiliation. Novels weren't published until after independence at the beginning if the 19th century. This ban on fiction was part of the inquisitions goal to rid the "fictional disease" that plagued them.

Information from Latin America: Fiction and Reality by Mario Vargas Llosa.

If you any more information related to the fact, or you have corrections, Please share! I would love to hear!
