Echo slipped deeper into the water, a sigh escaping his lips. He’d not had a bath before. The water was warm around his shoulders, the soft bubbles tickling his skin and easing him into relaxation. You had helped him remove his prosthetics, which had been causing his limbs to ache for quite some time, and then helped him into the water. At first the prospect of a bath seemed a useless hassle to him, but seeing how much you enjoyed them had him acquiescing to see what all the fuss was about. In the little bathroom with the steam fogging up the windows, he had to admit, he got it. Bathing was quite relaxing. He sank deeper into the water, eyes closing.
A knock at the door interrupted his reveries. “It’s only me, can I come in?” Your voice called in from the other side.
“Mhm.”
You opened the door, leaning your weight against the frame and cocked your eyebrow. Echo hadn’t even opened his eyes. “I knew a bath would do your limbs good.”
He smiled. “Yeah, yeah, happy now?”
“Very. I’m just making a cuppa, d’you want one?”
“No thank you, Cyare.”
“Okay. Don’t fall asleep in there.” You wagged a finger at him despite how he still had his eyes closed.
“Oh actually,” he called out, eyes shooting open. “Join me?”
“Give me two minutes.”
Echo watched you gently shut the door, his gaze lingering in your direction. You’d known each other since before his accident. As a medic on Kamino, you’d had plenty of interaction with the clones, and when he’d been found by Rex and the Batch, it was only natural for you to treat him. From then on, you’d sort of been paired together and had joined the Batch as their unofficial medic, although the term was ‘escort’. As if Echo needed one, you’d always scoffed. Through the months you’d become closer still, and it felt inevitable to the two of you that you’d end up together. Echo still remembered the shaking in your hands as you’d held his, eyes wide with anxiety when you told him how you felt.
That was four years ago. The home you’d built on Pabu for the two of you had quickly grown to become a safe zone for Echo, a place where he could relax slightly from the terrors of war. Not that he minded, since he volunteered to aid Rex and the Rebellion, but his body was beginning to fail him, and he was spending more and more time at home. This was how he had ended up in the bath, your special soaps filling the water and easing his aching muscles.
The door creaked open and you reappeared, holding a mug of tea. He watched as you shut the door, quietly wandered over to him, and sat on the ground. You let your weight lean against the bath on one side, your legs folding up to your chest with your tea cradled in your hands.
“When do you think you’ll be flying back to Rex?”
Echo sighed, brushing his hand over his face. “I dunno. Depends on my knees.”
“Hmm… is the water helping?” You sipped your tea.
“It is actually.”
He watched as you smiled behind the rim of your mug. “Maybe you should take baths more often.”
“Maybe I will. I must be a bloody hassle to get in and out though.”
“I don’t mind looking after you.”
“I'm well aware of that cyar’ika.”
The water splashed slightly as he lifted himself up to a sitting position. With his missing limbs, he struggled not to slip in the bath, but you’d been a Saint (as usual) and bought bath grips for the bottom of the surface. His thighs leant against them, hand gripping the handle of the wall that you’d had installed. When he was comfortable, he shifted so he could lean his arm over the side of the bath to rest his chin against. His fingers drummed against the porcelain.
Your eyes narrowed as he stared at you. “What?”
“I was thinking we should watch a movie later.”
“Ooh, which one?”
“Well-“
You put your mug down, snapping your fingers excitedly. “Oh, Phee was on about a horror that sounds pretty good. Or maybe we should watch something a bit more chill? Wait no, I’ve got it.”
Echo grinned, “go on.”
“Princess Mononoke. You’ll love it, I know it.”
“Alright, I’m happy with that. Is it on the Holonet?”
“Yeah. I’ll get it uploaded so we can watch it in bed.”
The soldier agreed, his head lolling to the side so his cheek was against his forearm. You’d never seen him so relaxed; it was quite the sight. Time seemed to pass quickly as you drank your tea and chatted with Echo, the pair of you easily slipping into conversation. Once the mug was empty, you put it down and dipped your hands into the water.
“Ooh getting a bit cold. Do you wanna get out soon?”
You watched Echo nod. “Please.”
“Okay,” your hands automatically found the shower gel you kept to the side, and squeezed some into your palms. When you started cleaning Echo’s skin, he began to protest but you interrupted with a tut.
“I want to. You’re supposed to be relaxing.”
“I guess there’s no stopping you then.” He tried not to smile but did anyway, turning around so you could reach his back.
Your hands worked mindfully around his spine, something which Echo had always been grateful for. You never treated him like he was delicate, but you were thoughtful and no longer needed to ask if what you were doing was alright. The micro-expressions Echo struggled to keep to himself always told you the answers you were looking for. As he turned around completely, you leant forward and pressed a kiss to his shoulder. The soldier smiled and tilted his head to the side, soapy hand coming up to tilt your chin so he could kiss you.
“Hmm,” he watched your eyes linger shut for a moment. “Legs?”
“I’ll do them.”
When he had finished cleaning his thighs, you helped him up onto the side of the bath so he could hold the handrail as you drained the water. The stub of his left arm found your side.
“Hey,”
“Hey.”
“Thank you.”
You smiled softly, “always.”
malachite, belladonna, & bells 🪐
- kybernymph <3
THANKS FOR COMIN' BAAAACK @kybernymph 🤣🎉 For this second spell, that toally doesn't have a buncha Omega in it, we're gonna take this bell...hold it up above this spire of malachite that is surrounded by dried belladonna bits to create this spell!
Warnings: Reader is travelling with the batch and technically a nanny/babysitter for Omega (but otherwise nothing much there is developed just mentioned) but Omega is close to "you" because of this. Reader is referred to as a female once (because I got stuck and panicked) Cameos from the rest of the batch but focuses on Hunter and Omega. Omega gets hurt but is very vague, SW typical violence, Marauder is bigger than it is (cuz i fucking say so 🤣🤣). Kinda sorta established relationship, no clear titles at least. Echo being the sass king he is
"Why do I feel like you actually enjoy getting yourself in danger?!" You yelled between shots with your blaster, only peeking at the commando a total of twice.
"I don't enjoy it, my brothers and I just have a magnet for it!" he yelled back, annoyed with your antics
You ducked back behind cover and gave him a disbelieving look
"Oh yes, just you and your brothers are magnets for trouble. Totally don't make the worst decisions ever and have a little girl in your care that has the exact same issue" you sassed, but then you quickly glanced about noticing something unfortunate "OMEGA'S GONE"
It was as if someone had pressed a panic button and loud blaring sirens were going off. Suddenly everyone was rushing out coordinates and if they'd seen her or not - honestly, it was giving you a major headache.
"Where was the last you saw her?" Hunter asked having dove to your side to hide with you "You said you'd keep her right with you"
"I can't babysit it-" you gestured wildly to him and vaguely where the others were "-you all outta her!"
Hunter groaned and hung his helmuted head for a moment
"Alright, look. We'll keep the blaster-fire at bay, you...you find the kid"
With an extremely displeased look on your face, you agreed. You just knew, deep down in the pit of your soul, it'd be just your luck to die via blaster shot looking for a guy's sister-daughter. Now wouldn't it.
"You're lucky I love you!" you yelled out and then continued to grumble as you crawled through the debris "Blonde, blonde, blonde - come on kiddo..."
You carefully searched about, narrowly avoiding blaster fire as you hunted down the tween - only to fall right on top of her
"Don't hey me, what are you doing down here?!" you huffed, not really mad just stressed beyond beleif
"Hey...!" she whined rubbing her head
"Being stuck, I couldn't get out when I fell in" she grumbked
"Why? Doesn't look too tall" you mused gathering yourself and having to jump to reach the ledge of the small aclove
"Because I can't jump" she mumbled looking away
To this confusing admission, you turned about to see her leg all banged up. In an instant all frustration left your system as concern flooded it in the very same moment. You couched next to the girl and gingerly pulled the debris from around her anckle and leg
"Oh....oh sweetie..." she cooed softly in pity
Despite her stubborn attempt at holding them back, which was honestly amazing with how much pain she should be in, a flood burst out and she began wailing
"Okay, just one second honey" you said in a soft and caring tone, quickly getting her leg free and then delicately pulling her to your lap.
It took some very careful maneuvering and even further gentle prodding to ensure her form was safely settled in your hold in a way that would not injury her further
She clung to you and wailed harder
"Alright, its alright" you soothed, petting her hair as she sobbed into yohr neck "Such a strong girl, you did so good."
Reaching into your belt you pulled up your commlink
"I'm going to need a pick up for a very bruised flower here" you called quietly "We're in a bit of a precarious situation and Omega is hurt - she's very upset so if you boys could finish off those goons and get over here ASAP, that'd be great"
"Omega's hurt?!"
"Where are the coordinates?"
"How far are you two, think you can wave an object or something to give us a b-"
"Enough" Hunter huffed as his brothers promptly went into protection mode, then called your name "-give us cords, we'll be right there"
"I'll do what I can here" you promised then held Omega tighter "Alright, your brothers are coming just hold on okay?"
It took a bit of time before the batch was able to get to you both. Echo's helm was the first to peek in at you - before he yelled for his brothers to hurry their asses over. Then Tech peeked in to assess the location, and then Wrecker dropped down to help the two of you out of the collapsed pocket - the largest of the group carefully holding Omega up out of the hole for his brothers to grab before he pushed you up and then climbed out himself.
But with that completed, the lot of you quickly ferried Omega to the maurader to treat her wounds.
"Omega, I cannot properly treat your wounds with you clinging to her" Tech complained with a cross looK.
Omega had found a way onto your lap and clung to you during the whole process and had then on made the doctoring job quite the pain while she cried quietly into your shoulder
"If she needs her, let the kid be" Hunter sighed, a bit dejected but he waited until the bandaging process was complete and everyone had parted to wind down before he sat with you both
"Hunterrr" Omega whined, tilting away from you to lean into his shoulder instead
"I got you" he soothed
The two of you did an awkward juggle of her body, trying to avoid a grab or unwanted touch while trying to move her safely, but the second she was close enough she had latched her arms onto Hunter as if she were made of velcro.
The designated father, in the moment, let out a breath as he leaned into her tight hold - just happy that she was seeking comfort in him and that she was safe.
You had no intentions of feeling the way you did for Hunter or the rest of the batch when you'd first agreed to be Omega's glorified babysitter. But as time wore on, being in close quarters with them all only made you feel like you'd be pulled into a family circle unlike any you'd thought even possible. But, you'd be lying if you said that your feelings were entirely familial...you recently had, regretfully and accidentally, fostered emotions for the bandana-ed leader of the squad. You were quite mad about it too, especially when you first realized it. But no matter what you did, nothing seemed to change your heart's view. And it most certainly wasn't changing from watching him cradle and embrace the young girl as if she were made of the most precious materials in the galaxy.
"- thank you" he said in a soft tone, his gaze meeting yours
You were called out of your thoughts by your name falling from his lips
You tried not to see into the affection that was lingering there as plain as day. Tried not to notice how he squeezed your thigh in a silent thank you. Nor how sweetly he said you name...
"I just sat with her, Hunter" you shook your head softly, down-playing your part in the situation
Feeling flustered you managed a simple nod
"Omega needed comforting and because of you, she had that. You kept her safe and kept her company while the rest of us fought" he urged as he grabbed your hand and held it tightly "we are lucky to have you. All of us, not just Omega"
"I...should get cleaned up" you mumbled, but as you attempted to stand -
Omega peeked her teary gaze at you and tugged your shirt in a vain attempt to pull you into Hunter's lap with her
"Omega" The commando scolded delicately
"Don't go, stay with us" she pleaded in a small voice that made you very will to live crumble.
In and instant, your ass re-met it's seat and your side was practically plastered to Hunter's
Grey eyes looked at you with amusement before he shook his head
"You are so wrapped around her finger" he teased in a whisper
"Oh and like you aren't?" you sassed
Hunter let out a breathy laugh and leaned a bit more into your space
The two ofyou sat in absolute silence otherwise until Omega had exhaustedherself out and fallen asleep. But with the added heat and weight on Omega sprawled across both of your laps, you were beginning to nod off as well
Hunter, noticing this, smiled at your vain attempt to stay awake. In a slowly made movement, his arm reached around you and gently guided your head to lean against his shoulder - taking care to not disturb you enough to wake you up or burst the atmosphere hanging around the three of you.
"How long are they going to stay like that?" Tech whispered
"Ahw, let them be" Wrecker beamed "I've been watching them dance 'round each other forEVER!"
Echo peeked at his brothers then past them to the scene occuring in the back. With a cheshire smile worming onto his face, he nudged both batchers to get them moving along
"Alright that's enough of that" he shooed "It's like neither of you haven't seen parents with their kid before"
Wrecker snickered and turned back to get the ship started up
"Technically-"
"Can it Technically" Echo huffed turning the bespeckled commando around and pushing him towards the seat "You got flying to do"

i got kinda lazy with the rendering but i think i’m happy with the end result :,)
thanks for being patient with me! it usually doesn’t take me 4 months to finish a drawing 😅 i guess i was just overwhelmed with this one and kept putting it off lol
i’m gonna come up with some headcanons about what all these characters did during their time together on pabu at some point!
Oh as the owner of the worlds coldest feet (and terroriser of my husband with them) - I absolutely adore this. I can feel Alpha’s grump through the screen which is brilliant. Thank you so much for sharing this delightful piece of wintertime goodness.
PS is it bad I would let Alpha get away with doing no housework. Like he could just sit there and look pretty???
So I wasn't going to do ANY winter fics until after my Birthday (I just hate Christmas before my birthday, sorry) but I wrote this fic and 🤣 Well, truth be told...it's just me tormenting Alpha (lovingly) through Reader 🤣🤣🤣
So I thought you'd all enjoy reading this.
This is also a fic for @clone-wars-winter-challenge using prompts "I'm cold" and Fluffy Blanket I just happened to pick Alpha, I know he doesn't count towards prompts
P.s. I decided to use my winter/'xmas' (Yule) divider since it will be part of that masterlist on my blog. Plus I probably won't have too many this year 😅
Warnings: Reader is referred to a she once, has hair long enough to cover their face and wears panties+nightshirt to bed. Established relationship, lots of silliness, poor Alpha is tortured via cold feet, suggestive - spice that fades to black but nothing explicit. Reader likes to annoy Alpha and Alpha likes to pretend he hates every second of it. Alpha is soft and twitterpated, but definitely sounds harsher at first. Dialogue prompt is in blue!
You slowly closed down your residence, ensuring all the doors were locked, all the curtains were drawn, that the designated "safety" light above your stove was left on, and that your elderly tooka had not only fresh water and kibble, but that you took his fluffy blanket out of the dryer and bunched it up on your lover's favourite chair for the old boy - he loved sleeping there but this time of year always left him colder. Especially now nearing the end of his life. And with a goodnight kiss pressed to the mostly black feline, you headed straight to your bedroom
"Finally done?" you lover mumbled, still awake and reading something on his datapad.
One hand holding said pad and scrolling with his thumb, while the other held a still steaming mug of either cocoa or cider, you weren't sure which but it didn't really matter. Both tasted good on his lips in your opinion.
"Well, if you helped get the house ready for bed...then I wouldn't take so long" you teased shimmying out of your clothes
"And miss this view?" came the appreciative hum as you bent to reach into your drawers "Not on your life"
You snorted at the flirt and continued to gather new pjs, trying to ignore the heat that stoked just enough to let you know it had returned
"One of these days, you're going to have to come up with something better as an excuse" you said as you pulled the nightshirt over your head
"Right" he nodded curtly, his attention darting back to the datapad
"And what will it be then? hmm?" you urged with a hunch of what he'd turn to next
"How about 'I'm too old'?" he mumbled before taking another sip
"Not too old to tackle me into the bed and enjoy hours of passion, but too old to help close down the home you share with me?" you asked turning around to face him
"Absolutely" there was a hint of a smirk on his lips as he peeked back up at you "You coming in here or what?"
A mischievious smile grew on your lips as you rushed the bed and grasped at the blankets, but before you could yank them up, his heavy hand slapped at them
"Oh no. I know that look. You are not putting your cold ass feet on me again" he growled, quickly setting his mug on the bedside table, knowing full well what happens if he has to move quickly with it and not wanting to deal with the mess that it leads to.
"Whaaaat? Nooo" you drew out acting as innocent as possible "My darling, I would never....!"
"'My darling', my shebs. I know you too kriffing well Cyare." he pointed his finger at you accusingly "Not. Tonight"
The stare down of the century too place between you both before you whined and pouted - technically giving up but not surrendering to the mini war effort, just conceeding the singular battle
Alpha stared at you for a good few more minutes, suspicious of your play - and rightfully so. Because you were still bound determined to get him.
But when you dramatically fell across the blankets about to lament about how cruel your lover was and how much be truly must no longer love you
"Get in bed," the large clone scoffed, hiding his smile well "Don't start that up again. It's late."
He flipped back a portion of the blankets - which there were a total of 5, three normal and two super fluffy, on your shared bed - to invite you in
"Hurry up, the heat I procured is leaving" he grumbled
Knowing better than to make him wait in a situation like this - nor wanting to sit in the frigid air with your only panty-covered ass out, you dove into the blankets.
Quickly your body sunk into the mattress as you sighed loudly. Then you wiggled - er perhaps thrashed controllably are the better descriptors- in the sheets to get comfy. Entirely ignoring Alpha's sounds of displeasure at being jostled with you, knowing he found it amusing more than annoying. You did so until you had successfully buried yourself in the bedding
"All done?" he called softly, peeking at the hole left behind in your wake
"Yes...!" you practically purred in delight "I'm nice and cozy now"
Your dear beloved chuckled deeply and nodded, leaning back to his side of the bed to reach for his mug
"That's go-"
With a sudden glimmer of miacheif returning to your eyes, you ripped your legs to the side and settled your freezing bare feets along his thighs, inciting a shout and the mug to drop back against the table top.
"SON OF A-" He yelled then quickly reached under the blankets to rip your feet off him "THE KRIFF IS WRONG WITH YOU?!"
You didn't respond, too busy cackling and gasping for air as you did so. Your legs trying their best to out maneuver him and touch your feet to his bare skin again - hopefully somewhere with more heat.
But just as you freed one foot from his strong grip and was a mere cm from touching the apex of his thighs-
"I don't karking think so!" he growled, rolling ontop of you and pinning your hand on either side of your head.
In the process of the movement he'd tangled the blankets around you and trapped you alone within them, his bare form now out of the covers and in full display for your greedy gaze.
His annoyance melted into a huff of pout once he noticed he'd lost all the heat and you had successfully stolen it all.
"Brat" he practically spat the word, although his eyes creased with an adoration at your annoying but adorable grin on your lips.
His eyes drifted to the mass of messy hair tangled about your face and parcially obscuring you, your glittering-with-giddiness irises that had entirely abandoned meeting his in favour to oogle.
"You're lucky I love you" he grumbled, leaning in and working his face through the tendrils of hair to get to your lips amd kiss you breifly "Now, I'm cold"
"Ah well, you see" you cooed softly, chasing after his lips "I happen to have this excess of heat here...and I would just love someone to snuggle with and share it with me"
"Oh really," he grumbled sarcastically "What a coincidence"
You giggled loudly again
"And I wouldn't mind making more heat...if it meant I got a certain pair of nice, strong arms around me"
"Of course" he chuckled "You also wouldn't happen to be looking for a chest to use later for your pillow...would you"
Alpha watched as you dramatically gasped in mock surprise
"Why yes! It's as if you read my very mind, good sir!"
Your lover snorted at your words and hung his head
"Why are you like this" he chuckled out
"Because you love me like this" you answered, but then added when you saw his head shake "And because I was specifically made just for you"
"Oh wow" came the sarcastic reply "Who could've forseen that. Someone created just for me when she was born well before me"
You both struggled a bit at the blankets to let him back inti their warmth - which you promptly wrapped your arms around his neck and gazed lovingly up at him.
"I combat all the bad, awful and sad things you went through" you whisper "I make sure the rest of your days are full of stupid shenanigans, laughter and love"
With a tender look filling his gaze and a smile unashamedly posessing his lips, Alpha pinned you to the mattress once mire. However, this time it was full of gentility and sweetness.
"I think I can stomach that" he whispered "So long as you're alright stomaching a grouchy, cold man who's seen too much"
"Funny, I was just telling my two best friends that, that is just the very specific, hard to find kind of man I need" you whispered in return as he pulled the warm blankets around you both further and further to obscure you both from the galaxy
"Funny" he answered lips just above your own
"A man like that, who hides just how tender and loving he can be" your lashes flicked down as your gaze left his in favour of staring at his lips
"I'll see if I can suffer to oblige, Cyare" he breathed out, his lips moving against your own until the words became muffled with the kiss you both shared.
The kiss that quickly grew into that heat you both wanted so desperately.

hi big fan but too scared to publicly request 😭
could u do the Bad Batch boys reacting to female reader having a boyfriend they didn't know about? like maybe they're on break at the barracks and she starts dressing more revealing and cute and then leaving and they spot her with a man 😭
but ofc, because we love our clones more then other men, something needs to go horribly wrong so she splits up with them and comes back crying or something. you can add whatever twist you want, but (projecting here) perhaps the man was just trying to rush physical things with her and treating her like an object from the beginning and she just wanted to impress him until he started making her uncomfortable. hmm, very specific 🤔
anyway, love your writing so much. thank you 🙏
Your wish is my command
Word Count: 3.3k Pairings: Mostly platonic Bad Batch x fem!reader Warnings: objectifying d-bag bf, lil violence, a beer or two, jealous men Summary: The Bad Batch are back on Coruscant and looking for a night out with you. They find you and your new, unsavory boyfriend.
Frustrated and edged with exhaustion, Crosshair stomped onto the Marauder. He’d spent the last hour scouring the upper level of Coruscant for you to no avail. You’d missed your usual visit with the men of Clone Force 99 when they were on-world.
Visiting you became routine after their first visit to the Capitol. They’d come for special training before they were even assigned their signature armor. Ready for a taste of the real world, they’d snuck out into the city on their first night and right into the arms of swindlers.
Somehow they’d fallen into the sights of a charming group of people you were all too familiar with. You watched the whole scene unfold from the balcony of your apartment. They promised to show the men a ‘good time’ and you knew that came with some unsavory consequences.
With nothing better planned for your night, you intervened and saved the men from, at the very least, being scammed. It turned out to be an unforgettable night with four new friends to boot and, when leave allowed, they’d find you for some fun.
So, with a few days between mission briefings and not knowing when they’d have leave again, the Batch tried to track you down. The problem was that this time they couldn’t find you anywhere - anywhere being your home or at the store you worked.
Tech stayed with the ship while the rest looked for you. Hunter, Wrecker, and Echo were the first to turn in, leaving Crosshair to finish the hunt.
Hunter and Echo hung around the cockpit while Wrecker kicked back in a chair near the nav screens when Crosshair returned. As he sunk into the open nav chair next to Wrecker, Tech, wiping his hands on a rag, came aboard.
Wrecker swiveled to face Crosshair with his head cradled in his hands. “Still can’t find her?”
Leaning onto his elbows, Crosshair growled into his hands. “What gave it away?”
“Did you check her coordinates?” Tech asked, seemingly exasperated by their wasted efforts.
“And how would we check her coordinates?” Echo scoffed from the cockpit. He and Hunter meandered their way towards the other three.
Tech looked between his brothers, disturbed by their blatant ignorance. “With the tracking device I gave her.”
Crosshair’s head shot up, masking his interest with a show of distaste, “You put a tracking device on her?”
Clearly offended by the idea, Tech snapped back, “No.” She wanted to make sure we could find her easily.” The silence that fell between them suggested they didn’t believe him.
“You were all there.” He insisted, waiting for them to remember only to be met with silence. Sighing, Tech’s shoulders fell and he raised his forearm as he muttered, “Must’ve been when we were alone.”
Wrecker shot forward in his seat, jabbing an accusatory finger at Tech. “When were you alone with her?” The corner of Tech’s lips ticked up as he tapped through his controls, but he didn’t grant Wrecker a response.
They all seemed to forget that Tech kept plenty of information close to the chest. He also tended to be the more sober one of their nights out. They called him a lightweight, but having found it leant him private time with you he called it a fair trade.
After a few seconds, Tech pinpointed your location. Something caught in his throat when he saw how close you were. Tech proudly announced, “Found her. She’s at a lounge one sector over.”
His earlier annoyance faded as Crosshair pushed a toothpick into his smirk, “Sounds like she might need some company.”
“Well boys,” Hunter spoke up with a grin. Tossing a thumb in the direction of the exit he asked the group, “What do you think? Should we crash her night?”
Wrecker bounced up, filling the Marauder with a loud laugh. “You kiddin’? I can’t wait to see the look on her face.”
The men wasted no time in heading your way. Wrecker and Hunter led the group through the crowded streets, followed by Crosshair and Echo with Tech trailing behind with his face in a datapad, making sure they didn’t lose track of you.
Crosshair, noticing Echo’s half-worried look, tapped Echo with his elbow, “Lighten up, Echo. You might have fun for once.”
Used to Crosshair’s prodding, Echo rolled his eyes but couldn’t hide the amusement in his voice, “Yeah, well some people don’t like surprises. This is either going to be fine or be a complete disaster.”
“Most likely a disaster.” Tech chimed in from the back.
You were only a few minutes away in a dark, basement floor lounge. Amongst a smattering of half-empty booths and dim lighting, you stood near the bar with a small group of men.
In the time between Clone Force 99’s last visit and now, you’d fallen in with a man you’d met through work. He was nice enough, persistent in pursuing you and his attention wasn’t unwelcome.
You found yourself answering his calls, meeting his friends, and spending time with him on your days off. Slowly the casual company became intimate and so you stood amongst his friends, in a dark lounge with his hand on the small of your back. The dress you wore, chosen by your new boyfriend, was a little tight for your taste and exposed nearly all of your back.
He claimed it would boost your confidence. The twirling he had you do for his friends suggested it was for his own ego.
Your partner promised you’d be gone by midnight - a promise he’d broken more than once so far. Impatience and boredom dragged the night out, soothed only by cocktails and the bracelet you fidgeted with.
It was a handcrafted gift from Tech and their way to find you. You’d asked for the device in hopes that it would make you miss them less.
It didn’t. You decided that next time you were getting their comm channel out of them even if by force. If there was a next time.
Distracting yourself from the idle conversation around you, your eyes drifted around the mostly empty room. The music was as low as the lighting, only meant to allow conversations to remain private.
The group was having a fun time, some of the jokes even broadened your smile, but generally you were counting the minutes until you could leave.
Commotion echoed down the front stairwell, breaking the calm of the establishment. Loud, booming laughter quieted your group, piqued your interest, and dialed your attention onto a familiar sound. Your heart stopped when you recognized the sound of shifting armor. For the first time all night, a genuine, albeit hopeful, smile brightened your face.
You stopped breathing all together when the Bad Batch stepped into the room. As impressive as the first time you saw them, your five friends fanned out with each of them scanning the room. Crosshair, ever the eagle eye, spotted you and shoved the brother beside him, Tech, with his elbow.
They were looking for you, you realized. The thought propelled you towards them, your feet barely touching the ground.
You’d not seen the Batch in months. A part of you had worried for the worst - that you’d never see them again. That nagging part of you grew larger than you’d realized, big enough that the relief of seeing them nearly reduced you to tears.
“C’mere, Mesh’la!” Wrecker bellowed, catching you in his arms as you hurled yourself at him. His hands scorched your back, a sensation you’d not felt in the months of their absence.
The harder you held onto Wrecker the more his armor dug into you, making it even harder to breathe through your excitement. When he finally set you down, you immediately latched onto the next closest man, Echo.
The smell of you overwhelmed him for a moment and he had to bite back a groan when he caught a sight of your exposed back. Echo couldn’t even return the gesture before you pulled away and whacked his chest plate.
Stiffening your lip, you made a poor attempt at a scowl.
Hunter stepped in on you, not hesitating in wiping away your budding tears. “That look says you didn’t miss us too much.” Being so close to you after so long gave him half a thought to kiss you.
“The tears had me fooled,” taunted Crosshair from somewhere beside Wrecker.
Despite the half-assed scowl, a smile broke through and relief warbled your voice. “Do you even know how long it’s been?” You demanded, casting a look between them all.
Tech came to your side, plucking up your wrist for inspection. “Ninety-eight standard rotations.” He said casually, removing your bracelet without looking up.
The anxiety that spiked as he let you go forced your hand to keep him close. Your touch snapped his head up and you tilted towards him, playfully purring, “Aw, you missed me enough to count?”
He opened his mouth, some witty remark surely on his tongue, but a different voice piped up.
“Should I assume these men are your friends?” Your boyfriend said from behind you. You’d all but forgotten where you were and who you were with.
Immediately releasing Tech, you turned away from the clones, pivoting to stand between them and your partner. Flashing a weak smile you waved in the direction of the Batch, meaning to introduce them.
Crosshair cut you short by stepping forward, putting himself halfway between you and your partner. Sporting a challenging smile, Crosshair looked the stranger up and down. Clearly unimpressed he scoffed, “What’s it to you?”
A pit formed in your stomach when your boyfriend planted his hand on your back. The possessive touch didn’t carry the same flame Wrecker’s did, something you’d not realized up to that point.
“I try to make a habit of knowing my girlfriend’s friends.” Your partner said, accentuating the sentiment with a kiss to your temple.
Slightly horrified Tech recoiled, incredulously parroting in unison with Hunter, “Girlfriend?”
It would’ve been impossible to inform them while they were away, and you certainly owed them no explanation, nonetheless shame crept through you. Avoiding the eyes of your friends, you grinned at your boyfriend, “Let me introduce you to the finest soldiers the Grand Army of the Republic has to offer.” Proudly inhaling your smile grew and you added, “And my friends.”
Looking between your boyfriend and the group, an odd thought occurred to you. You’d never realized the man beside you was on the short side. Shorter even Hunter at least.
Wrecker placed a hand over his chest, mockingly cooing to Crosshair, “Aww, she likes us.”
Crosshair snorted, when it wasn’t directed at him Crosshair went along with his Wrecker’s goading. Crossing his arms and leaning towards his larger brother, the sniper mused “She’s even blushing.”
Your boyfriend snapped his head towards you, annoyed to see that you were indeed blushing. He’d not seen you get this easily worked up. Although he knew from the moment you ran into Wrecker’s arms that he wanted you nowhere near the men.
Slowly scanning your form, a condescending smile perked Crosshair’s lips. “Didn’t know that was your style,” He nodded at you, obviously referring to your outfit.
Crosshair never failed to pull a reaction out of you, this time you were interrupted by your boyfriend slipping his hand up your back and down your arm. The action knotted frustration in your throat as it was what he had done with his friends.
The longer Crosshair watched this man with his hands all over you, the harder Crosshair bit down on his toothpick. Since you’d first coerced him to dance, Crosshair’s own hands still ached to find their way back to your waist.
And just as he had with his friends, your boyfriend lifted your arm by your hand. He gave you a light jostle, encouraging you to spin around. “It suits her, doesn’t it? I picked it out myself.”
Where the eyes of his friends felt oily and unwelcome, you only felt heated embarrassment in front of Clone Force 99.
The dress flattered you and you could admit that, at times, you’d imagined how it’d feel for the clones to see you in something like it. You wondered what it would be like for even one of them to see you as more than a friend. To find you attractive. Maybe even want you. But not like this.
Unbeknownst to you, the men did find you attractive. Exceedingly so even. You were a breath of fresh air for them and the only glimpse of normalcy they had.
As opposed to spinning, you tried to tug your hand free as you mumbled under a smile, “I don’t want to do that.”
Hunter and Echo exchanged a confused look. Just as your boyfriend hadn’t seen this excited side of you, the Batchers hadn’t seen you like this. You looked uncomfortable.
Meanwhile, your boyfriend firmly held your hand. Groaning, he tilted his head back in feigned exhaustion. “Babe,” he dragged the word out before speaking to you like he was correcting a child. “We talked about this, lighten up and give us a spin.”
Hunter caught you off guard when he pulled your hand free. While he kept his touch soft in light of whatever new boundaries your boyfriend posed, he wasn’t going to watch you be pushed around. Unwilling to risk your discomfort, he made sure to step out of your space quickly.
You almost stepped with him.
“She said ‘no.’” Hunter said with the authority of his rank.
Your boyfriend scoffed and drew back in disbelief. “I’m sorry, where did you all even come from?” Either out of misplaced bravado or from the liquid courage, he advanced on Hunter. “Don’t speak for her.”
Blinking away the irony, you tried pulling him back. “He wasn’t,” you whispered in attempts to soothe him.
He yanked out of your touch, earning a growl from Wrecker. Raising his voice in challenge, your boyfriend insisted, “No, I think he was.”
Ever the voice of reason, Echo stepped in beside Hunter. “Why don’t we just take a breath?” Echo’s hazel eyes fell to you, brows pulling together in a silent question.
“I’m fine, Echo.”
“You’re fine?” Your boyfriend whipped his irritation around on you. A beat of fury pulsed between you and all you could do was smile awkwardly. How had this escalated so quickly?
“I’m sorry,” You chuckled in astonishment. “What’s going on with you?”
Neither of you backed down, in fact he only pushed harder by angling his face into your space. “What’s going on with me?” The smell of liquor on his breath finally connected the dots for you. “What other friends do you have that I don’t know about?”
Suddenly, something caught his eye. Turning his attention to Tech, your boyfriend pointed at your bracelet in Tech’s hand. “What are you doing with that?” He asked suspiciously.
Tech, who had been silently picking the stranger apart, gave a scornful roll of his eyes. Tucking the accessory away in one of his many pockets, Tech said in a dry tone, “I don’t believe what I do with my gift is of any importance to you.” He may or may not have purposely mentioned ‘my gift.’
Wearing a confident smirk, Tech looked directly at the man beside you as he said, “It suits her, doesn’t it?”
As if on cue, your boyfriend gave you a seething, sideways glance, playing right into Tech’s hand.
Heaving a sigh, and trying to lend him the benefit of the doubt, you made another attempt at directing him away from your friends. “Why don’t you-”
This time he smacked your hand hard enough that it stung. This was a side of him you’d not expected and it was not one you liked.
A snarl rippled through Crosshair as he lunged between you, put his hand over your boyfriend’s face, and thrashed him backwards. Wrecker cackled, only encouraging a wicked smile from Crosshair as he shifted over your splayed out boyfriend.
You winced at the spot of blood coming from his nose. Notably, though, you didn’t intervene this time.
Wrecker came around to you, resisting the urge to step the man on the ground by completely passing over him. Gently, he lowered himself to your eye level and lifted your hand. His touch felt so different from that of the man you were seeing, it made you completely forget the feeling in your hand.
They all made you feel so different. You’d missed them much more than you’d realized.
“You alright, Mesh’la?” Wrecker swiped his palm over your cheek and down your neck to rest on your shoulder.
The soft smile you offered him swelled something in Wrecker’s chest. Your presence created a soft spot in his life, making it harder to leave you with each trip.
You laid a hand over the massive one on your shoulder, “I’m fine, really.” Although it probably wasn’t ‘fine’ that you had to reassure them all over the behavior of someone meant to be your partner.
From the ground, the man in question snickered, “I see it now.” Pushing up onto his elbows, he spat, “You’re just a barracks bunny.”
The insinuation was lost on you but not Echo.
Echo lurched through the group, shoved Crosshair aside and ripped the drunken man by his collar. “You little scumslug!”
For what seemed like the first time ever, Echo had to be the one restrained. Hunter broke in and yanked Echo up before he could drill his scomp into the downed man. You and the rest of his squad all wore similarly surprised expressions.
Seeing Echo lose his temper was the breaking point for you. The man you’d allowed into your life was still panting on the ground when came to stand over him. He didn’t say anything, knowing full well what the look on your face meant.
“Don’t call me again,” You muttered dismissively and said nothing else as you turned to leave, waving for the others to follow. “Let’s go guys.”
They all followed suit, except for Crosshair. He crouched onto the balls of his feet and leveled a sneer to your newly dubbed ex. Low enough for just the two of them to hear, Crosshair said, “We’ll know if you bother her again.” The sniper drew just an inch closer to hiss, “Come near her again and you’ll never see daylight again.”
Crosshair sat still for a moment, ensuring the promise properly sunk in. Having watched the color drain from the man, Crosshair flicked his toothpick into the sad sack’s face.
When you all finally made it back to your place, it was decided that a quiet night in was well deserved for you all. It didn’t exempt the night from at least a few drinks.
Returning from your kitchen with a round of beers, you settled onto your couch between Echo and Tech. Wrecker lounged on the floor while Crosshair and Hunter occupied the remaining arms chairs.
They regaled you with stories from the front lines in exchange for the quiet comfort of your company. Eventually, you reclined against Tech, eyes shut, as he scrolled through his datapad.
“Echo.” You said, seemingly out of nowhere. Peaking an eye open you lilted a suspicious smile his way.
Mid-sip, Echo could only hum in acknowledgment. When you asked, “What’s a barracks bunny?” He nearly choked on his drink.
“Yeah,” Wrecker blurted out, the confusion coming back to him. “I was wondering that too?”
All eyes were on Echo as a flush came over him. It hadn’t dawned on him that the men of his new squad had little experience with typical trooper slang or the rumors regarding some regs.
“It’s...” He stuttered to get the definition out, ultimately shaking his head and setting his beer aside. Passing the buck to Tech, he chuckled, “You know what, Tech why don’t you put the holonet to good use and look that one up yourself.”

I HAVE A MIGHTY NEED TO BAKE FOR THE WOLFPACK NO ACTUALLY THE ENTIRE GAR.
@moonlightwarriorqueen what do you meannn they don’t get cookies??? My inner grandma WILL NOT STAND FOR THIS.
(Academically I know they’d only have rations but the boys deserve all the sweet things forever)
I know you warned us about the levels of cute in this but I’m biting the bars of my enclosure because of the adorable-but I love them so much and soft!Wolffe is the literal icing on the cake.
Okay so, confession time!
This was originally a fic for Wolffe (with a different title) but Comet fucking took over by storm like the monsters inc swat 💀 so I wrote it all...but then it was weird cuz there's all this Comet in Wolffe's fic 😅 So I split them, gave Comet's a new title and BAM! Here we are.
Fingers crossed I can fix the Wolffe parts into what was supposed to be his fic 🤣
Warnings: cuteness overload. Wolffe being playful with his bby bro...? Comet stealing your fucking heart cuz he's a cutie patootie
Life was simple, albeit a little boring, nothing extraordinary came your way. Every day, week, month and year came and went like the last - sure there were a few small differences. Friendships that came and went, hobbies that flitted by...but ultimately...life was just a set of actions and events set on repeat.
But then war came.
Suddenly everyone and their grandmother were speaking about the battles, the carnage and of hatred. Hate for the other side...and hate for the soliders that were part of the now established army of the republic. It was jarring at first, but your life wasn't much disrupted...until one night.
You were closing up from a day of work, shop void of customers, the bewing stations and ovens no longer thumming loudly...it was then that you ran into something most jedi now saw everyday.
A clone trooper.
He seemed a little frazzled, as he waved at you enthusiastically from the glass door, though it was hard to tell with his helmut on.
Strangely, you had no unease or fear...so you made your way to the locked door and opened it a crack
"...yes...? I'm sorry we're closed" You said politely
"Ah, I'm sorry...I got seperated from my brothers..." the clone laughed sheepishly "And my comm isnt functioning properly. Could I use the store's? I...need to call them to come get me"
You stared at him for a moment, debating on what to do...but found yourself letting him in - your heart going out to him over the nervous tone vibrating through his helm.
"Thank you so much...!" He breathed a sigh of releif.
The trooper followed you in and right to the communication device the store had, promptly removing his helmut and pressing buttons.
He was young, you noticed, probably relatively new to the war and his armour, while painted, seemed absolutely flawless. It's design was an intricate sweeping of lines, something you'd seen in pinstriping artist's work.
"-I'm at...one second," he leaned his head away from the device and whispered to you "Where am i?"
With a soft smile, at his confused boyish attitude, you walked over to say loud enough for the clone across the line could hear.
"Mid levels, the place is called 'Caf and cookies'. We're up the street from that seedy old theatre" you then leaned a bit more into his space to make sure his brother heard your directions as you gave him the formal address
"Alright, Comet. Stay put, I'll come get you" Came the exhausted sounding reply
"Yes, sir"
Just as the call was ending, you could hear another clone in the background
"Did our Vod'ika finally answer?!"
The two of you stepped away from the comm. As you did, you turned to the trooper, Comet, before you
"So...new on this planet...?"
"Unfortunately...my brothers thought it was a good idea to go to 79s to celebrate...and I may have tripped and fell...a few levels... into the back of a speeder" Comet mumbled embaressed "This place is very different than Kamino"
You only smiled and gestured him to a stool as you continued to clean up, then offered him a drink and one of the handful of cookies left over
"Sorry they're not fresh, but they are from today" you called as you yanked a mop from the cupboard
"We don't ever get cookies, so...as far as I'm concerned, this is the best they'll ever be" He beamed excitedly
You laughed softly, though saddened by his remark, and made your way back over to the mop
"Wait, wait! Let me do it!" Comet jumped up, cookie crumbs on his lips
"Oh...uh...it's alright, I can do this" You said softly with a touch of surprise from his eagerness
"No way! You've helped me so much already, its my turn to help you back!" he pleaded with glittering eyes
Who were you to refuse?
"Alright, so we just dunk this end into the bucket-"
When Wolffe arrived at your establishment he wasn't quite sure what to do at first.
You were sitting on a stool, knees pulled up tight as you balanced carefully, while you laughed and spoke to his baby brother. He only intended to knock, wait for Comet to run over then yell a 'thank you' to you before dragging the young man away. But now, as he stood watching the two of you, he felt unable to pry you two apart. He'd been worried about Comet's quiet demeanor since setting foot off the battlefeild. And yet...here he was, watching some random woman getting his little brother to laugh and be playful. You were doing what his entire batallion hadn't been able to.
But soon enough, whatever little spell had kept you and Comet contained to a happy little bubble popped. Having been spotted, Wolffe gave an awkward hand up in acknowledgement before you rushed to let him in
"I'm so sorry...!" you rushed out in an embaressed fluster "I should have been paying attention"
"'ts fine, I was a little distracted watching you two have fun" he mumbled, such a phrase seemingly for your ears only
"Why don't you come in? I'll put together the rest of the cookies and you two can share" You offered, feeling a bit of heat travel to your cheeks.
The commander glanced to Comet, to see a sheepish grin and the trooper setting the mop against the wall carefully, then returned his gaze to you. Wolffe studied you for a moment, taking stock of what he could of you, but relented with a slight nod as he saw only sincere kindness in your gaze
"Perfect, just give me a moment!" You scurried back into the kitchen, leaving the two alone
"So...learning to mop?" Wolffe jabbed with a stern kind of playfulness
"Ah, yes sir...I felt bad...ya know, with her gifting so much assitance and not giving anything in return" Comet stood straight as a needle as he spoke, but Wolffe made note of the colour tinting his brother's cheeks
The commander shook his head then patted his Comet's shoulder
"It was good to see you loosening up, we were all wondering if the battlefield had stomped you out for good"
The two were quiet for a moment. Just existing in the quiet before you came barrelling through the doors with a box done up with a bow
"Are those ours?" Comet gawked
"You...didn't need to do this...really" Wolffe mumbled, watching you make your way to them both
"Nonsense, I can't eat all these myself..." you teased softly
You took Wolffe's gloved hand and settled the small box in his palm
"And...." you glanced at your new buddy "I put the address and comm of the shop, as well as my personal one. Should you get lost..." you then glanced back to the older of the two "and should you lose him again."
"Really, this is too much..."
"Just in case" you smiled, showing them out "I have a feeling this won't be the last time someone shows up here"
And it wasn't.
Perhaps it was the force that dictated that poor Comet get lost again... Perhaps the force decided that afterwards Comet would go out of his way to retreat to you, inevitably bringing his big brother along to collect him again and again. As such, you came to expect your little oddities in your days and nothing brought you more joy then the sound of fabric-covered knuckles rasping against the glass in the same little pattern that only Comet would ever omit.
"Lost again...?" you teased as you stepped back and let the young trooper into the closed shop.
"Actually...not this time" he smiled, bucket under his arm as he nervously ran his hand back and forth over his scalp
You eyed him curiously, but waited for him to continue at his own place
"Was wonderin'...maybe...this time..." he mumbled with pink dusting his cheeks "Maybe instead of you finding me...I steal you...?"
You felt your lips twich and scrawl open as you couldnt help beaming at his sweet words
"Are you...asking me on a date...?" you taunted playfully
"No..." he glanced away, but his gaze only left you for a moment or two "I'm asking if i can steal you...for the night"
You let him squirm in place for a few moments before you ultimately gave in and let out a giggle.
Nodding, you turned around and ran back into your shop. You threw the mop haphazardly into the closet then all but slammed your hand down on the light switches before you rushed back to the door with your sweater in hand.
Comet chuckled at your actions but otherwise just watched you with a lovestruck look on his face and dopey grin to match it.
"Steal me away" you urged in a coo, holding your arm out for him to snag
Instead, he wrapped his arm around your middle and hugged you tightly
"You sure...?" he whispered softly, lips just brushing your cheek
"Absolutely...I'm all yours" you promised sweetly in return.
Unprepared for the sheer level of excited bliss oozing from him, you squeaked as Comet held you tightly and spun you one, twice, thrice around before setting your feet back on the ground
"Let's go! The night's young...and I can't wait to spend every moment with you!"
It was then that you truly realized...your life would be nothing but happy and sweet from now on.
