and I’ve read some really good stories and poems and songs.

But I feel like we’re all missing a large part of any culture, that which is the foundation for all the stories and rituals and prayers of any group of people.

We’re missing the children.

what are nursery rhymes but stories told by children? what are games but rituals performed by children?

Red bird, red bird, Come and play Depur’s at market for the rest of the day Take a friend to hide while we all pray Then red bird, red bird, fly away

Its a combination of tag, hide and seek, and duck duck goose

Everyone stands in a circle (holding hands or hand clapping is optional)

One child is “depur at market” who walks inside the circle and is only allowed to look at the person in front of them, as if examining the slaves being sold

Another child is Ekkreth, the red bird, and their job is to sneak around and “steal” a child out of the circle and hide them without “Depur” noticing

If “Depur” sees “Ekkreth”, then Depur must chase Ekkreth around the outside of the circle, attempting to tag Ekkreth. If Ekkreth makes it into an empty space from one of the “escaped slaves” then they’re safe, and Depur goes back to walking the circle. 

If Depur tags Ekkreth before Ekkreth can make it back into the circle, Ekkreth must go into the middle of the circle where they are now “caged”

Once Ekkreth is caged, Depur goes around and finds as many escaped slaves as they can. Meanwhile, any escaped slaves can sneak up and “free” Ekkreth by tapping them on the head. 

If Depur can find all the escaped slaves before Ekkreth can be freed, they win and are now Ekkreth.

If Ekkreth can free all the slaves without being caught, they win.

If Ekkreth is caught, but Depur cannot find the last slave, that slave wins, and they become Ekkreth.

MARTYN (inthelittlewood)

He's a mercenary hired by the royal family to "protect" the prince. He's hired from a country with a strong military discipline, and so the royals thought Martyn would be loyal to them and keep the prince in check, making sure he gives up on the throne.

Martyn IS one of the best warriors BUT he's a menace and decided to backstab them for funnsies. After finding the truth about the prince Ren, he decided to train him and help him to take his rightful place as the king. Dude litterly helps Ren to build up his confidence and have a wholesome/functional relationship

REN (renthedog)

Ren was sadly born as a lycan (werewolf - it's either a rare mutation or passed down genetically by the parents, but either way they are actively being exterminated). Since he is the first born prince, his condition was hidden from the society. His family made him to undergo countless operations and experiments which would "cure" him, howevere nothing worked. It just turned into pure torture which destroyed him mentally. One of the experiments mutated his genes so much, that he gained the ability to temporarily shapeshift as a different person after drinking their blood (yea superpowers). On the outside he appears as a charming and free spirited prince, who is just not interested to become a king, but he is pretty much just manipulated by his family. There were even some assassination attempts on his life (def conducted by the royals/nobles), but sadly he survived every time (dude is depresed). After these "horrible accidents" his family hired a new "special" guard to protect him. Turns out that his guard saw through his cool prince faucade and the intentions of the royal family and decided help him and work together to overthrow them.

Ps: the people made a lot of conspiracies why was the prince kept in the dark for most of his childhood/teens. And so people began to thought that he was trans. They accept his identity tho, it's better then going to kill him for being a lycan :]

The designs might change a bit in the future, but this is overall pretty much what I'm going for. Of course the otaku gets to be a samurai (I'm otaku as well •-• )

Cursory research into the meanings of Mandalorian armour colours...

Black - ne'tra = justice, an unshakeable moral code (also wanting to avoid stains on your clothes)

White - cin vhetin = a fresh start or clean slate (good for converts/adult adoptions)

Grey - genet = mourning a loved one (or recently rejected)

Gold - ve'vut = vengeance (a warning colour)

Silver - beskar = unpainted armour, a search for redemption (Din Djarin's guilt complex, anyone?)

Bronze - tranyc'bes - nobility and high status (favoured by stuck-up self-important jackasses)

Brown - daryc - valour, galantry, The Audacity (particularly when associated with them cunty lil jedi cape drops)

Tan - vhekadla - loyalty (lit. 'sandy' but I don't like sand, it's coarse and rough and...)

Maroon - daryc'tal - power (all hail Maroon 5, our benevolent overlords)

Red - ge'tal = honouring a parent (very popular, 10/10)

Scarlet - galar'tal - defiance and relentlessness (Mandalorian Scarlett Johansson omfg be still my bi heart)

Orange - shereshoy = shereshoy, a lust for life (the party people)

Yellow - shi'yayc - remembrance, burnt out vengeance (makes for funky funerals)

Mint green - cin vorpan - lust for peace, guardians and peacekeepers (does not necessarily mean I want to fuck guardians and peacekeepers, get your head outta the gutter)

Green - vorpan = duty, commitment and hard work (favourite of farmers, too)

Teal - jahaal = healing, violence as a last resort, I've seen some shit and now I defend peace (favoured by healers and New Mandalorians)

Blue - kebiin = reliability and faithfulness (favoured by single parents)

Sky blue - kebii'tra = new love, newlyweds, marriage and all that fluffy stuff (Satine's famous jewellery TCW S2 - ObiTine for the soul)

Indigo - jiisaviin = prosperity, victory, the feeling that we have achieved our hopes (tempting fate, perhaps)

Lilac - saviin = luck, change, survival in adversity, hope for the future (associated with the old God of Luck)

Pink - cin ge'tal - respect and knowledge, a fusion of past and future (associated with journalists and academics)
