Kestrel-dad not sure how to dad but he’s trying his best.
Way way back I drew a comic explaining what we really mean by ‘The Autism Spectrum’ and posted it here back when Tumblr was Huge. Then the comic really blew up!! Last year I did a remake of the comic, with some updated language, and using Mia, a character from a graphic novel I made. Figured I’d share for Autism Acceptance Month!

Fairy tales have always been with us. Apart from teaching moral lessons and practical cautions, they remain a source of wonder and inspiration that persists even in a modern age dominated by technology.
There is magic in these tales as well - spells and charms that aid the worthy and conquer obstacles, heal the ailing and bring wealth to the poor, thwart the wicked and exact terrible revenge, or grant someone their hearts' desire and make their dearest wishes come true.
I have created over a hundred such spells, inspired by the tales recorded by the Brothers Grimm and the folklore collected by Andrew Lang. One volume was published back in 2017 and another is forthcoming. If you're curious (and maybe a little bit daring), here are some previews of the spells to be found in the pages of The Sisters Grimmoire.
After all, who couldn’t use a bit of Happily Ever After?
A Bellyful of Stones - A curse to punish the greedy.
Roughskin - To protect and disguise oneself from those who mean to harm you.
Table of Plenty - To obtain needed money or provisions.
The Red Flower - For removing enchantment.
The Sorrow Pot - To relieve your sorrows and bring justice for a grievance.
The Wall of Thorns - To protect one’s home and property.
Make Sure You Lock Up - To set your household wards when you lock your front door.
The Ferryman's Curse - To curse another with the problems that plague your own life.
The Shining Web - To repel trouble from the home.

i hate that every time i look for color studies and tips to improve my art and make it more dynamic and interesting all that comes up are rudimentary explanations of the color wheel that explain it to me like im in 1st grade and just now discovering my primary colors
Teach your children to respect animals and the world around them. Teach them that nature isn't their toy and that their actions have consequences. Teach them compassion for other beings and creatures.
So the other night during D&D, I had the sudden thoughts that:
1) Binary files are 1s and 0s
2) Knitting has knit stitches and purl stitches
You could represent binary data in knitting, as a pattern of knits and purls…
You can knit Doom.
However, after crunching some more numbers:
The compressed Doom installer binary is 2.93 MB. Assuming you are using sock weight yarn, with 7 stitches per inch, results in knitted doom being…
3322 square feet
Factoring it out…302 people, each knitting a relatively reasonable 11 square feet, could knit Doom.
Ceremonies large and small have the power to focus attention to a way of living awake in the world. The visible became invisible, merging with the soil. It may have been a secondhand ceremony, but even through my confusion I recognized that the earth drank it up as if it were right. The land knows you, even when you are lost....
That, I think, is the power of ceremony: it marries the mundane to the sacred. The water turns to wine, the coffee to a prayer. The material and the spiritual mingle like grounds mingled with humus, transformed like steam rising from a mug into the morning mist.
What else can you offer the earth, which has everything? What else can you give but something of yourself? A homemade ceremony, a ceremony that makes a home.

Free play is critical for developing executive function, autonomy, and trauma resilience. A sustainable future will need to include ways to recenter children's need for free play.
This is immediately applicable to kids coping with the pandemic.

Jack-o-lantern chicken and sweet potato Pot pie recipe
2 tbsp. olive oil
1 lb. sweet potatoes (about 2)
1 large onion
Kosher salt and pepper
1/4 c. all-purpose flour
1/2 c. dry white wine
2 c. low-sodium chicken broth
1 small rotisserie chicken
1 c. fresh flat-leaf parsley
tsp. freshly grated or ground nutmeg
2 sheets frozen puff pastry
1 large egg
Heat oven to 375°F. Oil eight 6-oz ramekins (3 1/2-in. round).
Heat the oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the sweet potatoes, onion, 1/2 tsp salt and 1/4 tsp pepper and cook, covered, stirring occasionally, until tender, 10 to 12 minutes.
Stir in the flour and cook for 1 minute. Gradually stir in the wine and then the broth and bring to a boil. Add the chicken, parsley and nutmeg. Divide the mixture among the prepared ramekins (about 3/4 cup each). Place the ramekins on a rimmed baking sheet.
Using a 3 3/4-in. pumpkin cookie cutter and a 3/4-in. triangle cookie cutter, cut out pumpkins and their faces from the puff pastry. Place a jack-o'-lantern on each ramekin, brush with the egg and bake until puffed and golden brown, 20 to 25 minutes.
🧡🍁New England apple cider cake recipe🍁🧡
INGREDIENTS
1 cup apple cider
2 cups Granny Smith apples (3 large or 4 small apples)
1 whole lemon
¼ cup softened butter (4 tablespoons or half a stick)
1 cup granulated sugar
2 eggs
2 cups flour
1 ½ teaspoons baking powder
½ teaspoon baking soda
¼ teaspoon salt
½ cup heavy cream
Enough vegetable shortening to grease a 9×9-inch baking pan
1 teaspoon cinnamon
3 tablespoons granulated sugar
1 cup apple cider
1 cup confectioners’ sugar
1–2 tablespoons heavy cream or milk
Vanilla Ice Cream, optional for serving
INSTRUCTIONS
Place the first cup of apple cider on the stove and bring to a boil and boil until reduced to ¼ cup. Set aside to cool.
Core and peel the apples and then cut each into 16 slices (fewer slices if using smaller apples). Have a bowl of water that has a whole lemon squeezed into it. Place apples into water and then onto a plate to dry and set aside. This will keep them from turning brown.
Preheat oven to 350 degrees
In the bowl of a stand mixer with paddle attachment, beat butter and sugar until well mixed.
With the mixer running, add one egg at a time beating until smooth. Scrap sides and beat until light and fluffy, about three minutes.
In a medium bowl, sift flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt.
Measure out cream and add cooled reduced cider to cream.
With the mixer on low, alternate adding the flour mixture and the cream/cider mixture until well combined. Scrape sides and mix until smooth.
Grease a 9X9 square pan liberally with vegetable shortening and pour in the batter.
Arrange the apples, outer edges up into the top of the batter.
In a small bowl or cup, mix the sugar with cinnamon and sprinkle over the top of the cake and place in the oven for 50-60 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into center comes out clean.
While the cake is baking, make the glaze.
Place the second cup of apple cider on the stove as before only reduce down to two tablespoons. Watch it that it doesn’t evaporate too far.
Place the confectioners’ sugar in a small bowl and add the reduced cider along with one tablespoon of milk or cream and stir. Add the last tablespoon of milk or cream a little at a time until desired consistency. It should be thick but runny enough to drizzle off the end of a spoon.
When the cake comes out of the oven, cool to room temperature and cut into nine squares.
Drizzle the glaze over each portion letting it run down the sides and serve.
Serve with vanilla ice cream if desired
i have proof that not only norrington, but jack and will, are bisexual and it's this scene

1. all three men are sword-fighting. sword-fighting is a euphemism for touching tinkies
2. elizabeth says "let's just haul out our swords and start banging away at each other". banging is another word for shagging. which is to say. fucking
3. the scene is literally called melee à trois when you go to select the scene on the dvd like ménage à trois do i actually have to say anything more
