ECONOMIC BLACKOUT ON FEBRUARY 28, 2025
TAKE PART & SHARE THE NEWS
If you haven't heard, there will be an economic blackout Febuary 28th, nationwide. This means don't buy ANYTHING unless it's from a small business, and use cash if possible. Don’t buy gas, fast food, groceries, etc. While you’re at it boycott Amazon (cancel that membership), Tesla, Walmart, Meta & X, Ford, HomeGoods, Hobby Lobby, TJ Maxx, Marshalls Néstle, Toyota, Chevron, Boeing (check airlines), JPMorgan Chase, AT&T, Hershey, Sam's Club, Dunkin’ Donuts, Starbucks, Applebee’s, Papa John’s, Pizza Hut, Chick-fil-A, tampax, old spice, Bacardi Liquor, Tito’s Liquor, General Mills (Häagen-Dazs, Nature Valley, Cinnamon Toast Crunch/Cheerios/Lucky Charms/Cocoa Puffs, Chex Mix, Pillsbury, Bisquick, Yoplait, Hamburger Helper, Annie’s Homegrown, Betty Crocker, etc), Urban Outfitters, Free People, Home Depot, McDonald’s (all lobbyists and/or donated to Trumps campaign).
These lobbyist corrupt corporations & companies only care about money, that’s why it’s so easy for them to screw over the working class with less worker protections, cutting important programs, denying healthcare, etc. So if that’s the case, the most impactful movement is to hurt their pockets. Power in numbers.
Economic boycotts and blackouts, such as the Montgomery Bus Boycott and international sanctions against apartheid South Africa, have proven effective in enacting political change by applying sustained economic pressure that directly impacts the target’s financial stability. When supported by widespread participation and media attention, these actions can lead to significant policy shifts, as seen with the end of apartheid and changes in corporate practices influenced by public boycott movements. If 1 in 4 Americans stopped buying from brands like Amazon, Walmart, or Nestlé, or saved money altogether by adopting a “we have or can make this at home” mindset, it could compel organizations and governments to reconsider where and how they allocate resources and contribute to policies, driven by the need to avoid reputational and financial losses. This collective action could disrupt corporate influence on politics, pushing for more ethical and socially responsible practices.
Please spread the word! Thank you!
Yes mother. The best way to hang out with friends is just to vibe in a room together and occasionally comment on what the other is doing. Yes mother. This is normal. I think.
Screenshot edits for a au that I’m currently in love with (and wanted to do my own take on)
Opal permafusion au!
Pink diamond/rose swaps places with blue diamond, and her counterpart is chalcedony
Blue diamond was the littlest diamond, and after she broke her pearl, she wasn’t allowed another one. Instead, blue was given a sapphire with specific instructions that she was precious and not to break her. Sapphire noticed how sad blue diamond was and and saw how badly she wished to visit the earth, so she she came up with the same idea that pearl did where blue diamond would disguise as a quartz to visit earth discreetly. Blue diamond planned her rebellion after she noticed the harm done to earth by herself and the other diamonds. Sapphire joined her, giving her helpful predictions of what to expect. They faked blue diamonds shattering together. While pink diamond was on earth with pearl (volleyball was taken away because she was seen as distracting by white), sapphire and chalcedony attacked, with sapphire giving chalc predictions/strategies. Amethyst beforehand had had a small conversation with pearl while pink addressed her court. During the attack, amethyst overheard sapphire mention proofing pearl and jumped in right before it happened. That was when opal first fused. Pink diamond was not happy. She threatened to shatter both of them for daring to fuse in her court (she’s a lot more ruthless in this au). Pearl ran off with amethyst but since she can’t float they crash landed in some bushes. They refused stayed there together until they were found by chalcedony and sapphire. Opal joined the rebellion. Years later a ruby crash landed on earth and was found by chalcedony and sapphire. Ruby joined the crystal gems, not knowing where else to go and not feeling threatened by them. Chalcedony has a son with Greg, still named Steven. Some time after that, Steven finds the mirror gem, which is peridot in this au. To leave earth she steals whatever metal she can find with her metal powers to try and rebuild a ship to escape, but she’s not strong enough with a cracked gem. Steven heals her (he has healing powers, had to switch that for the sake of plot), and she leaves. Later bismuth in the place of jasper, lapis in the place of peridot and peridot in the place of lapis arrive on earth and the events of jailbreak take place. The unnamed fusion of peridot and bismuth(taking malachites place) is trapped underwater by peridot taking pieces of the crashed ship and forcing them under(they are eventually freed when the metal rusts away and peridot can’t keep it there any longer). After that Steven finds a bubbled gem in lions mane and accidentally unbubbles her, she reforms to be jasper, one of pink diamond quartzes that joined the rebellion and was pooped after chalcedony deemed her violent ideas unhelpful. That’s all I’ve got for this so far! Sorry for this rambling! Hope you like my take on this tho and sorry if it’s been done before fjjdjfbf

Had a dream about peridot in this
Hi, so there's my Tiny Gems AU again. I love these little guys so much. Think of them as a mix between plant and insect (inspired by ants and leaf sheep. If you don't know what a Leaf Sheep is I implore you to search it now! :D)
This is kind of a gemling Au but not really since gems still emerge from walls and the diamond are the only ones with essence to make them (like queen bees) Young Gems need to eat materials that have minerals related to their gem, but after that they only need sunlight to live. Gems are still immortal but commonly fall prey to falling boulders and large organics. They just get gobbled up. (Our Peridot is spoiled though, don't worry about her.)
