I MAY or may not have accidentally pulled an all nighter drawing Peridot š¤·š»āāļøš
I was trying a new shading technique curious what you guys think
This was supposed to be a quick doodle than I added color and it flat so I shaded and yeah it got out of hand
Iāve been cooking up a fantasy lapidot au (by fantasy I just mean magic and monsters but there is some basic tech)
Peridot is an aspiring inventor but isnāt very good at it sheās better at making her inventions explode than work. Thankfully for her a Prince Steven (rose quartz became a āqueenā after the revolution) took her in and letās peridot live in a shack in his backyard.
Eventually the crystal knights (Iām considering making them creatures but havenāt decided yet) decide peridot needs to do something around the house instead of just tinkering in a shed so they send her out to get water from a nearby lake, but when peridot gets to the lake she sees a harpy chained up
Peridot tries to avoid her at first (peri is still a bit of a jerk) but after a while peri starts responding to the harpyās cries and they start talking the harpy reveals her name is lapis but peridot leaves after getting the water (again jerk)
The next week peridot comes back and sees lapis again and they talk more lapis reveals her backstory about jasper chaining her up. Peridot starts going to the lake daily to chat and free lapis as a romance friendship forms.

We Don't Talk About Pink Diamond (Steven Universe Animatic)
a peridot sketch Iām not gonna use for anything cause the idea was scrapped but I liked too much to not post.
Some steven universe gem redesigns! These are just for fun and not in any way done to criticize the designs the show has. We have Pearl, Sapphire, and Peridot in that order.
Some tidbits about the designs:
Pearls do notĀ āspeakā normally, as they have no mouths. Rather, they produce prerecorded robotic speech from their gem.
Pearls always have their eyes closed, as to not see any secrets that could get out. Pearl herself finally opens her eyes as her last step to realizing sheās free
Pearlās sword was her first actual possession, given to her by Rose. She always has it with her.
The crystal gem emblem changes from a star to a heart.
Sapphires float and never touch the ground
They do not talk with their eye mouths unless they are predicting a particularly nasty future they donāt like. Rather, they speak with a sort of telepathy.
Peridotās face can be turned off. This makes her mute until she turns herself back on
Electricity keeps her gem afloat and keeps it from being grabbed by any assailants.Ā
She will always have the floating fingers, with there being no equivalent to her limb enhancers.Ā
This version of Peridot would have electricity generation instead of metal bending.
Iāll probably do more of these later (including the ones in my inbox) I just wanted to get these out there!
So I've gotten quite a few adopts from @gaartesĀ lately, and I thought I'd make them all into a massive fusion! This is Shocked Quartz; a fusion of "Dorothy" Peridot, "Pink" Ruby, "Midnight" Aquamarine, "Cute" Pebble, and the pearl and peridot from "Doll" the pearlidot fusion. Though I did move Dorothy's gem to be on her belly instead of not visible. Shocked's a rock star who performs at a resort for fusions.
