If old elongated muskrat isn’t lying then listen up twitter users who might have fled here heres some advice:
Reblog shit, if you think somethings funny reblog it, if you think its informative reblog it, whatever it is if you even slightly like it reblog it. If it doesn’t go with your “theme” then make a second account and reblog it from there. Tumblr doesn’t have an algorithm what you see comes from people you follow reblogging shit or going through tags you like, mobile users can hold the reblog button and drag it to the account they want to reblog it from. What about likes you may ask? They do absolutely nothing other than show you liked what they posted, this isnt instagram guys please reblog
TAG YOUR STUFF!! Putting a TW// at the top of your post doesn’t actually block it for people, you HAVE to tag it appropriately for sensitive and/or triggering topics or things that can cause literal seizures, common courtesy gang
For the love of god put an icon and header on your account, maybe even a funny line for your title and description because otherwise everyone and their mother is going to assume that you’re a bot and block you
This isnt the place to be an influencer or to gain “clout”, no one gives a fuck about your thirst trap pics or how you have a bunch of fancy cars like they would on instagram or twitter, you either shitpost or you die (obviously dont have to just shit post but you get what i mean)
Dont bring your drama from twitter here no one wants that and we’ve been doing fine without it thank you
I think thats it but feel free to add onto this!
I think a lot of people spent their childhoods being very deliberately forced out of their comfort zones by parents / teachers / whomever in a way that was just deeply unpleasant and degrading and so, when they reach young adulthood and are finally allowed real control over their lives, become set on only doing things they know they're comfortable with forever. that's a really important thing to be able to do, especially if you're so used to having your boundaries routinely ignored that you aren't even certain what you like vs what you can bear, so I absolutely see why a person would have a negative reaction to being told that discomfort is good: it can very easily sound like being told that all that work they've been doing to prioritze their needs for the first time ever is Bad and Selfish, actually. and to that I will say two things:
one: as long as you aren't hurting or, like, being a dick to anyone, just staying in your comfort zone isn't an immoral action. if you just want to read one type of book (or just fanfiction), or just eat one type of food, or just watch one type of movie, or not go to new types of social events, you aren't being a bad person for that, and if people say that, they are soundly wrong and just trying to get a self-righteousness kick.
two: trying new things because you want to expand yourself feels a hell of a lot different than trying new things because you're being forced to. you'll feel better about trying new foods if you know you have a back up familiar one in case you can't stomach the new one, it's easier to read new books if you can experiment with audio versions or reading it in little five-page chunks by yourself, you can breathe a lot easier going somewhere new if you aren't chained there for three hours because your parent is your ride home, etc.
tl;dr: new things are good. I get why you might not want to try new things, and that's fine, but it's also more comfortable to try new things as an adult with your own agency so, yeah, what have you got to lose by trying a weird old art film?

there are so many posts about ~tumblr is so broken, you can’t find any post on your own blog, it’s impossible, bluhrblub~
I am here to tell you otherwise! it is in fact INCREDIBLY easy to find a post on a blog if you’re on desktop/browser and you know what you’re doing:
url.tumblr.com/tagged/croissant will bring up EVERY post on the blog tagged with the specific and exact phrase #croissant. every single post, every single time. in chronological order starting with the most recent post. note: it will not find #croissants or that time you made the typo #croidnssants. for a tag with multiple words, it’s just /tagged/my-croissant and it will show you everything with the exact phrase #my croissant
url.tumblr.com/tagged/croissant/chrono will bring up EVERY post on the blog tagged with the exact phrase #croissant, but it will show them in reverse order with the oldest first
url.tumblr.com/search/croissant isn’t as perfect at finding everything, but it’s generally loads better than the search on mobile. it will find a good array of posts that have the word croissant in them somewhere. could be in the body of the post (op captioned it “look at my croissant”) or in the tags (#man I want a croissant). it won’t necessarily find EVERYTHING like /tagged/ does, but I find it’s still more reliable than search on mobile. you can sometimes even find posts by a specific user by searching their url. also, unlike whatever random assortment tumblr mobile pulls up, it will still show them in a more logically chronological order
url.tumblr.com/day/2020/11/05 will show you every post on the blog from november 5th, 2020, in case you’re taking a break from croissants to look for destiel election memes
url.tumblr.com/archive/ is search paradise. easily go to a particular month and see all posts as thumbnails! search by post type! search by tags but as thumbnails now
url.tumblr.com/archive/filter-by/audio will show you every audio post on your blog (you can also filter by other post types). sometimes a little imperfect if you’re looking for a video when the op embedded the video in a text post instead of posting as a video post, etc
url.tumblr.com/archive/tagged/croissant will show you EVERY post on the blog tagged with the specific and exact phrase #croissant, but it will show you them in the archive thumbnail view divided by months. very useful if you’re looking for a specific picture of a croissant that was reblogged 6 months ago and want to be able to scan for it quickly
url.tumblr.com/archive/filter-by/audio/tagged/croissant will show you every audio post tagged with the specific phrase #croissant (you can also filter by photo or text instead, because I don’t know why you have audio posts tagged croissant)
the tag system on desktop tumblr is GENUINELY amazing for searching within a specific blog!
caveat: this assumes a person HAS a desktop theme (or “custom theme”) enabled. a “custom theme” is url.tumblr.com, as opposed to tumblr.com/url. I’ve heard you have to opt-into the former now, when it used to be the default, so not everyone HAS a custom theme where you can use all those neat url tricks.
if the person doesn’t have a “custom theme” enabled, you’re beholden to the search bar. still, I’ve found the search bar on tumblr.com/url is WAY more reliable than search on mobile. for starters, it tends to bring posts up in a sensible order, instead of dredging up random posts from 2013 before anything else
if you’re on mobile, I’m sorry. godspeed and good luck finding anything. (my one tip is that if you’re able to click ON a tag rather than go through the search bar, you’ll have better luck. if your mutual has recently reblogged a post tagged #croissant, you can click #croissant and it’ll bring up everything tagged #croissant just like /tagged/croissant. but if there’s no readily available tag to click on, you have to rely on the mobile search bar and its weird bizarre whims)
Apollo sat down with the rest of his children at the “him” table. Kayla was struggling to open a water bottle.
“Austin, can you get this for me? I’m having a Lester moment,” she said.
“Sure thing, Kayla,” Austin replied, opening the water bottle.
“Wait a minute. A Lester moment?” Apollo said incredulously.
“Yea. You know. Like, struggling with a simple task. Failing at life,” Kayla explained. Apollo made a face at her.
“You know, there was a time when I would have smited you for that. Smited? Smote? Smote,” Apollo said sternly. Austin snickered.
“Not while you were Lester,” Kayla retorted with a smirk. Nico snorted and covered his mouth. Will smacked him lightly on the arm. Apollo frowned and flicked Kayla in the head.
“OW! Hey!"
"Sorry, I had a Lester moment,” Apollo said, causing Will to spit out his water.
Been seeing people say that we have to make Twitter completely unprofitable now that Elon owns it, and that's completely true. We need to do that. But we're not going to do that by just being so fucking annoying that no one else wants to be on Twitter. We have to be calculated, coordinated, and so fucking annoying that no brands want to be on Twitter. This must mark the resurgence of The Brand Wars. So if you're on Twitter, you must be completely insufferable to brands. Every brand account you find, comment "SILENCE BRAND" on their posts, block them, tell everyone you know to block them, and move on to the next one. This includes the brands you like. I don't care if Wendy's Twitter is funny; block them. If all the funny popular brand Twitter accounts lose even a quarter of their following in a decently short period of time, they will freak out, and they will blame Musk. If every time you see a sponsored post you immediately block the account that sponsored it, that's money that Twitter can't make off of you anymore, and that's money that Musk loses. We can do this, but we have to do it together, so let's show the world just how powerful a social media community can be and show them that billionaires have no place in that community.
Been playing a lot of Rain World. Here’s the slugcat - a nible survivor in an unforgiving ecosystem. I loved the game and it’s immersive storytelling, highly recomend it! More rain world animations to come
I redrew a couple moments from when me and my friends played Regretevator a few days ago!!
I like drawing Sebastian with circle eyes hehe. I'm about to post a bunch of stuff btw :3
I need everyone to know that the ship Götheborg, the world's largest ocean-going wooden sailing ship, answered a distress call the other day.
Imagine waiting for the coast guard or whatever to show up and instead a replica of 18th century merchant ship pulls up and tows you to the coast.
