Honestlyyyy I’m so delighted that Severance of all shows gave us representation of the specific queer experience of thinking you might be getting invited into a threesome and then discovering you’re instead going to hear about Christianity
Dead wife plots usually annoy the fuck out of me so shout out to severance for 1) making it interesting and 2) making it SO CLEAR that Mark is in love with his wife. Like it’s clearly not just a token “oh no, look at the sad thing in his backstory” moment. They actually wrote a man who lost the love of his life in a tragedy and hasn’t been okay since. Mad respect

I know education is the only way to raise awareness and public awareness is the only way to ensure public safety, but if it was just me on my own, I'd honestly prefer that being trans wouldn't have to be A Whole Thing that people must be educated about. I wish I could just be telling a random anecdote to someone I'm not that familiar with and be able to casually preface it by clarifying "anyway I was a girl when I was a kid" for context, and just have them not even ask, but just quietly shrug to themselves like
"oh huh, didn't know that's something that can happen to people but I guess that's a thing", and let me go on about the story about the dog.
