Little Mitsuya x Ran hcs

SOME MANGA SPOILERS AHEAD!!!!

It's a known fact Mitsuya somewhat idolized the Haitani brothers when he was younger, and I like to imagine that after the events of the Kanto Manji fight, they sort of became friends. (Which for context, happened in 2008 where Mitsuya was 18 and Ran was 21) In the fight between Hakkai, Mitsuya, and the Haitani brothers, Mitsuya winds up fighting Ran alone. We all know Ran is a cheeky little bitch, and he almost definitely started teasing Mitsuya a bit either during or after the fight. I mean, Mitsuya did say he used to look up to the Haitani's right in front of them. And Ran is confirmed to come across as very flirtatious whether he means to or not.

So Ran was probably teasing Mitsuya about having a kiddie crush on him, and probably came off as pretty flirtatious when he did so. I can see Ran and Mitsuya bantering between each other incredibly easily, it's something that would flow pretty naturally between them. I'd say they started out as friends, then became this sort of friends with benefits relationship. I can see both of them being switches, with Mitsuya being more of the service type and Ran being both pretty kinky and a total pillow princess. I mean c'mon, all this man does is sleep, of course he'd want Mitsuya to do all te work, which works out because Mitsuya's goal is to please him.

And that brings me to another point, Ran needs his naps all the time, and Mitsuya is a busy guy and somewhat of a workaholic. Which is two bad traits, that mix together pretty alright. Mitsuya can work while Ran is either asleep in their room, or Ran can nap in Mitsuya's lap or his studio. And when Ran's awake and Mitsuya's not working, they can spend time together. A relationship between them would definitely be a little silly. A lot of playful banter, and a lot, a LOT of cuddling and nap times together. Of course, they still have their arguments. Mitsuya wishes Ran would be more productive, and Ran wishes Mitsuya would let loose every once in a while. Plus Mitsuya is big on communication and open honesty, whereas Ran really couldn't care less, and most the time just says he's 'too tired' or 'can't deal with this right now' whenever Mitsuya tries to have a serious talk with him.

All in all though, they work pretty well together. An odd pair, but they love each other and that's what matters at the end of the day. Rindou and Mitsuya actually get along pretty well, and they talk about both fashion and music pretty frequently, though Mitsuya is quite open about his distaste for Rindou's drinking habits. Hakkai on the other hand, just kind of learns to deal with the Haitani's for Mitsuya's sake. He's not the biggest fan of them, but if Ran makes his Taka-chan happy, then so be it. However if Ran ever hurts Mitsuya in any way, Hakkai is more than ready to throw hands. Same thing goes for Rindou if Mitsuya ever somehow hurt Ran.

Pomegranate poetry, because I'm eating one and feeling about it.

Pomegranate will always be used as a metaphor for love.

It's impossible to ignore the way the juice resembles blood. The alignment with how humans view relationships.

To love someone is to gently take them apart; peel back the hard exterior and see the inside. See that it is bloody, and ugly -- see that it is real, and in being alive and messy, it is beautiful.

Be too rough, and the juice will splatter. It will stain you, it will stain everything it touches. Violence yields you no reward, as in your desperation to get at the sweetness inside, you have destroyed it. All that remains is evidence of your aggression.

Maybe you hadn't wished to be so rough. Maybe you'd only been impatient; gentle hands first prying open the fruit, taking out each seed with care. The more time you spend, the more boring the endeavor gets. Why can't you simply enjoy it, why must you struggle for it? Care withers with impatience, and soon you're tearing through the fruit. You've gotten bored of being gentle with no reward.

It stains. It always does.

Truly, the only way to earn the reward of sweetness is through effort. Taking apart the fruit with a care that borders on reverence, each touch a loving caress. Be slow, do not rush anything. Even if it takes hours, you know it will be worth it. It's worth the effort. When all is said and done, look down at your hands, the countertop. Nothing is splattered with the evidence of carelessness or violence, and you get to savor the bittersweet taste.

Maybe this simply speaks to how I love, but pomegranate has earned its place as a metaphor for love.

sorry to be negative on the dash but..... y'all need to be nicer to fanfic writers. we all know interactions are decreasing, and even during the nine months i've been on here, i've noticed a decrease.

tell writers you like their works. comment on their works, reblog their works.

some of you act so entitled, and idk if you've noticed but you're literally making writers miserable. it makes me so sad to see my mutuals deactivate because the joy of writing has been taken away from them by ungrateful readers who are constantly demanding more, more, more, to the point where people are experiencing burnout and anxiety because they can't keep up with the constant unrealistic demands.

reminder that even though it takes you five minutes to read 1k words it might've taken the writer hours to get the words down, proofread, edit, and make the perfect fic layout.

some of you complain that there are no "good" fics anymore, yet you do nothing for the fandom, do nothing to support writers and just hide behind anon and blank blogs, complaining about every little thing till you've driven all writers off this site.

it's so tiring. please be kinder. we're all trying our best here.
