just posted something about this dr 😌
thinking about my other hogwarts dr (i have a lot of them. 🙂↕️) where i will spend the majority of my time in hogwarts and my 20s researching and experimenting different ways of time travel, simply to satiate my curiosities. i will be a historian for my own sake and i will not publish any of my findings (i probably would be put into azkaban, as time travel is against the law).
i want to be the person that figures out how to time travel with no additional accessories (e.g. a time turner). i want to know how the ancient egyptians/greeks/romans/chinese/turks did their magic. how did it tie into their religious beliefs? was there a muggle/witch separation (i assume the statue of secrecy is only for the UK)? what was the norm, did they categorize kinds of magic (light/dark etc.)? what was disallowed (like how blood magic is taboo in europe’s wizarding world)? did they strictly use wandless magic? did they have other means of channeling magic (artwork, dancing, singing, music, poetry/literature, etc.)? did they cast spells or was it less structured? did they have incantations or was it pure feeling?
i could script all of this just to have an idea, but i really want to just learn for myself idk. like there is learning from secondary sources and there is being the primary source yourself. idk the idea of being a time traveling witch . its so cool. I’M so cool. Wow
tumblr is slower than a sloth at times where i just need it to be quick. trying to make a proper post here for once and this is what happens💀
i love thinking about how me and tom will visit the library of alexandria when we are doing our time traveling shenanigans because we heard there are books on horcruxes there . or about how we will sneak into a vampires masquerade ball in the 1600s france because of the same reason. like. we’re just going on quests at this point. adventuring with my sorta evil boyfriend! we certainly will NOT get into trouble at all…… yeah.
I just think it's funny how fucking overpowered Shanks is
Like he lost his dominant arm at 27 years old
I don't even need to get into the chronic pain that comes with losing a limb, or the balancing problems, especially on a surface that's constantly moving or tilting (ship), especially for doing something physically demanding like fighting
He was already on par with the world's greatest swordsman at the time, and then he lost his arm, and then in less than 10 years he not only learned to use his non dominant hand for everything, he got good enough at it to be so strong and such a threat that he was named an Emperor of the Sea along with three other monsters who: a) all had devil's fruits; b) were all much more experienced; c) were all former members of the Rocks Pirates, a group so strong it took Garp AND Roger working together to take them down; and most importantly d) they didn't have the setback of losing an arm and having to train to fight all over again (assuming he wasn't ambidextrous, and even then considering he still wears his sword on his right side, despite that probably making it a bitch to draw quickly, it seems obvious he at least prefered his left hand).
He's also the only one of the original four Emperors left after all the chaos the Worst Generation brought to the New World.
No wonder Buggy has the king of all inferiority complexes, imagine growing up next to that
i unfortunately will never come back from a shift to tell you guys about it . like once i’m out i’m OUT. getting tf out of here permanently because this reality really isn’t worth it like…………………. i’d much rather being actually FREE and SAFE. i’d much rather be valued as a person and live in a world where the concept of being a man/woman doesn’t exist. i’d much rather live in a world where governments don’t dictate. i’d much rather live in a world where people can do whatever tf they want whenever and wherever they want. yeah that’s all.
some of you guys need to realise there is a difference between your consciousness and your brain
your consciousness is you - your awareness, your essence - but your brain is just the physical organ processing experiences in each reality. when you shift, you’re moving your consciousness into a different version of yourself, one with a different brain shaped by different life experiences. that means some things won’t feel exactly the same. your thought patterns, instincts, even personality might be different because they were formed by a different life. maybe a food you dislike here is your favorite there, or a skill you struggle with now comes naturally.
“when i first shift i’m gonna be so freaked out!” well, no. the moment you shift, your consciousness seamlessly integrates into the brain of that reality, making it feel completely natural. It won’t feel like some sudden, jarring experience; it’ll just feel like you’ve always been there, like a natural continuation of your life in that reality.
“i’m gonna be so awkward around my friends at first” nope. there’s nothing to ‘get used to’ because your brain in that reality already knows them. their mannerisms, inside jokes, and history with you will feel completely natural - just like any other day speaking to your friends.
so lets cut out all of the ‘omg i met them and they realised something was off’ or ‘omg i almost had a panic attack when i first shifted i was so shocked’ because that’s just not how it works. there’s no dramatic reveal, no awkward adjustment period. you’re simply there, living as if you always have been.

aka the wand of a girl with severe main character syndrome
yew wood:
yew wands are amongst rarer kinds, and they're reputed to endow its possessor with the power of life and death, retaining a particularly dark and fearsome reputation in the spheres of duelling and all curses. they're often associated with dark wizards, however wands with this core have been found in the possession of heroes quite as often as villains. what is certain, is that a yew wand rarely chooses a mediocre and timid owner.
thestral tail hair core:
one of the rarest cores, which the elder wood is also made with. it is regarded as unstable and temperamental, and one of the hardest materials to work with in wandmaking as it comes from a creature which can only be seen by those who have witnessed death. it is powerful, but can be tricky to master if the wielder doesn't understand himself or isn't ready to face death.
phoenix feather core:
represents the opposite of thestrals: death and rebirth united in one thing. phoenix feather is one of the supreme cores, but also one of the rarest. wands forged with it are known to be capable of the greatest range of magic, though they might take longer to reveal it. these wands' allegiance is hard to win, and they are always the pickiest when it comes to choosing their owner. however, when they do find a witch or wizard worthy enough, they are deeply faithful and won't switch sides easily.
backstory:
this wand was forged by an ancient italian wandmaker, believed to have gone crazy after witnessing the death of his beloved wife. he started to experiment with dual cores and expecially opposites, such as a phoenix core and a thestral one, attempting to create a wand that the history of wandlore had never seen before. dual cores are extremely rare to find, as it's believed that such wands are harder to manage and more unstable. however, this wandmaker managed to create a wand that balanced opposite forces, containing a power superior to any other, and extremely hard to manage, or even only to hold. even the appearence of the wand was unique among its kind- the wood was carved beautifully and intricately, decorated with delicate patterns, the handle was shimmering with crystals, and it ended with a moon-shaped moonstone. after crafting it, realizing the uncontainable power it held, the wandmaker chose to lock the wand in a box sealed with a spell that could be broken only by someone worthy of such power. the same night, he died in his sleep. at first, people where intrigued by this mystery, they tried to open the box, unsuccesfully. but after years and years, it was slowly forgotten, kept on a dusty shelf in the shop of an old wandmaker in italy. until one day, when an eleven year old muggleborn witch walked into the shop, the box began trembling and shaking. when the shocked wandmaker put the box in the kid's hands, it opened, effortlessly, revealing the ancient wand believed to contain the power of light and darkness altogether. how could a muggleborn be able of possessing such a powerful wand?
but it wasn't safe for a child to carry such a legendary artifact. if word spread, she could have been haunted by people eager to obtain the wand and its properties. which is why she kept it a secret. it wasn't hard: only in some ancient books the wand was mentioned and its unique appearence was depicted, but only very few cultured people read such books, and even they labeled the existence of the wand as a myth- nothing more. which is how she managed to hide its true identity for three years, while developing innatural abilities for such a young witch to have. that was until she moved to hogwarts.
so decided to shift i’ve been affirming for 3 hours straight, I ain’t playing anymore, i’m in my DR RIGHT THE FUCK NOW!
(that isn't just crocheting and reading)
play an instrument (harp, violin, piano, guitar or even more traditional instruments like zither (and so much more))
ceramics/pottery/air clay (ceramics is my personal favorite because you can make jewelry out of it)
scrapbooking/junk journal (i love junk journal because it's much more laid back/doesn't require much effort or even buying material, everywhere you visit, just take smth free like a business card or sticker and add)
edit your own magazine (my dream)
collect something (watches, jewelry, figurines, POST STAMPS, perfume, trinkets, magazines, lamps, posters, comic books, etc)
collect insects (it's a little unethical to kill a large amount of insect species that are a significant part of the environment purely for display so i think keeping a picture of them or finding and freezing already dead bugs are the better alternatives)
sports (fencing, ice skating, badminton, football, baseball, rock climbing, tennis, archery, snowboarding etc)
martial arts (ju jitsu, taekwondo, karate, wushu, judo, tai chi, muay thai, hapkido etc)
pool table (idk it's fun)
volunteering (animal shelters, soup kitchens etc)
herbalism (live out your witch in a cottage dream)
making jewelry (this can also be profitable)
researching/learning (choose smth you're interested in like entomology and learn about it)
wannabe journalism (basically writing, choose a topic like an art movement and write a mildly bad but enjoyable article about it)
make mockumentaries (time consuming but so cool)
flower pressing (so cute i love it)
sewing (it's fun and useful)
sketching as a form of photography (sketch any place you visit in real time as memorabilia, like a river with ducks floating or people walking past a tourist attraction)
traveling (visit cool hotels or airbnbs (like a private cabin on a ski resort or a large treehouse)) visit animal cafes, maybe also travel vlogging)
recycling your old stuff (making paper from used work sheets, make a new outfit/whatever you want out of old clothes you've grown out of)
will come back to edit if i find more, feel free (pls) add more ideas if you have any<3
