Notes

Zoro

- Soft features, makes him look a bit baby faced

- dark skin, many scars

- lots of creases in his brow from frowning, and dimples

- if his hair was long, it would be slick and straight

- wide nose with a slight hook to it

- wide and strong body, little to no hair

- sharp eyes that always look tired

Sanji

- angular, heavy upper eyelids and sad looking eyes

- sometimes his sharp cheek bones can make him look malnourished--kind of stayed that way after his childhood

- very few scars, all small and faded

- tattooed number 3 on his right shoulder blade

- wavy hair and strong, thin nose

- many small freckles and moles from the sun

- lean and slender body, lots of hair

- trans scars (depends)

Scars

Sanji

- Sanji's skin hardly ever scars due to his Germa genes. When he does scar, it's usually from a severe injury of some kind.

- There's a tiny scar on the small of his back from where he broke his back on Drum island, small scars on his wrists from a combination of his childhood and Whole Cake Island, faint burn scars on his feet from using Diable Jambe, and a well hidden scar on his forehead that hides in his hairline from the iron mask he wore when he was young. Sanji hasn't ever really spoken about his scars to anyone, and he isn't sure he'll be able to for some of them. If asked though, he might offer a little bit of insight.

Zoro

- Zoro has plenty of scars. Whether it be significant like his chest scar or eye scar, or as insignificant as faint scars on his hands from training, Zoro views each one as a promise to get stronger.

- There's obviously the scar on his chest from his duel with Mihawk, though that one isn't the only one of its kind. Zoro gained a few more from that specific duel on his chest, though they weren't nearly as bad as the big one. The scar over his eye is something he will never elaborate on, though if you ask Perona she will say he fell down the stairs and his sword caught him in the eye. He has plenty of scars on his arms and hands from training, and two rather nasty ones on his shins from where he tried to cut his legs off to escape Mr.3's wax trap.

Not sure if I’m going to explain this well but imagine an AU where people can see others eye colors the more they care about the person (because eyes are the window to the soul). The more they care, the more their eyes fill in with their actual color.

Luffy sees almost everyone’s true eye color after one friendly conversation, especially those who he helps. He realizes Zoro’s eyes are still gray after a few days, but he notices that the gray is precise and intentional. Luffy can see the slightly darkened patches mixing with the lighter colors almost immediately.

Zoro, on the other hand, rarely sees anyone’s eyes at their actual color. There are a few people who have gotten some light shades of color, but nobody at their real color. The last person’s eyes who he truly saw was Kuina’s, and he has no intention of adding to that list.

But he notices the slight shifts in his crew mates eyes as he spends more time with them. Luffy’s eyes grow darker every day, and Nami’s eventually start to turn a soft brown. Robin’s eyes immediately lighten to a sky blue after Enies Lobby. Chopper and Usopp’s eyes turn to a dark gray as they travel through Alabasta. But that damn cook’s eyes stay the neutral shade he saw with almost everyone he encountered before joining the Strawhats.

Until one day he wakes up from training and there are rice balls next to him, freshly made. He hadn’t remembered telling the cook about his enjoyment of rice balls. It must’ve been a lucky guess.

The next day, he gets rice balls again. And when he finally storms to see that damn cook, he’s met with crystal blue orbs staring back at him. Zoro suddenly lost his ability to curse and belittle, finally understanding why all of the crew secretly whisper about Sanji’s eyes when he’s not around.

Sanji, though, is frustrated. Zoros eyes are the first ones in his life he can’t see, and he’s angry. He knows this stupid swordsman. Zoro hates chocolate, but loves rice-even more so in ball form. His swords mean everything to him, and Sanji knows his exact routine every day.

He would never admit it, but Sanji did care about Zoro. He cared about everyone, except for people who were rude or hurt ladies. And while Zoro was brash and abrasive, he wasn’t rude. So why couldn’t Sanji see his eye color?

Finally he asks. There aren’t many people he can trust, but Robin will be honest with him. And she’s the least likely to make fun of him.

“Robin-Chan,” he starts, and she can hear how nervous he is. “Do you know what color Zoro’s eyes are?”

Robin stifles a laugh. “I’m surprised you can’t see them, Sanji. Do you really hate him that much?”

“No, I-!”

“They’re gray.” Robin said. “I thought there was something wrong with me too. But they’re just gray. Look a bit closer next time, and you’ll see they’re not quite the same shade they used to be.”

Sanji follows her advice, and subtly stares at Zoros eyes when he thinks the swordsman won’t notice.

“Do you mind?” A pink blush dusts across Zoro’s face when he realizes the cook is staring. “I’m trying to focus here.”

“Your eyes would be a shitty gray color, so nobody would know when they actually started caring about you!” Sanji’s cheeks were getting pink too, and both of them ignoring the other’s blush.

Zoro cocked an eyebrow. “Do you care about me, cook?”

“Like hell!”

Okay okay hear me out: everyone knows baratie. Baratie is famous across all the blues and grandline for their amazing food, crazy staff and the fact theyre basicly the only seafarring restaurant (others have tried but failed cause it was simply to wild for them)

so! Everyone from warlords to top bountys to admiral goes there once in a while to eat and it also becomes a neutral ground enforced by the staff

Who's the one serving most of these dangerous powerful people? Kid sanji, tiny eggplant. And they enjoy the bratty kid serving them that most people actually ask for him. They teach him a few things as well because honestly hes their nephew at that point

So when he joins the strawhat he seemingly knows almost everyone they come across much to the confusion of his nakama and the regualar baratie guests are just hoping they don't get banner for life by fighting sanji

Congrats! Nephew!Sanji is now a thing and he has been adopted by the ENTIRE world...mostly. This is so fucking funny to me.

Sanji just wants to be cooking, he's like twelve when the head waiter comes back and says someone is asking for Sanji to wait on them. Sanji just groans and curses that he's busy but Zeff kicks him out so he's pouting the whole way to the table. First it's the Admirals and Vice Admirals. Then individual Warlords. Pirates with bounties higher than the amount of money Sanji will ever see in his life.

When Sanji kicks unruly guests some will correct his posture. Some will pat his shoulder or ruffle his hair. Sanji grumbles the entire time every time it happens until he sets sail. Zeff gets letters routinely from the people Sanji runs into, not from Sanji himself. The crew always looks at Sanji with questioning looks every time someone knows him.

Like Garp. Or Crocus. Crocodile. Rayleigh. After the time skip Sanji thinks he's free of running into people who know him but finds that almost all the supernovas have eaten at Baratie at some point while he was there and he wants to scream.

Zeff has a cork board in his office divided straight down the middle, one side has the letters of those no longer permitted to eat at Baratie the other has the letters of those who can. Luffy's poster is split in half and has a piece pinned to each side but Zoro's is firmly on the "not allowed" side after how much time the crew spent scrubbing his blood off the deck.
