Intro Post

Hey yall! Making an intro post with all the information..

So long story short this is a comic for one of my last classes in college. I'm having a hard time staying motivated to work on it as quickly as I have to, so I thought posting might help!

I am already behind. That's the problem. So I'm here to post updates as I go along with WIP and character sheets and lineups. Every week I'll be posting the comic pages I get done and ideally I would really appreciate if y'all like applied some pressure as far as asking for when the next update is and such- WHICH ISNT NORMAL WEBCOMIC ETIQUETTE!!! BUT I'M ASKING FOR THIS SPECIFIC COMIC FOR ME FOR Y'ALL TO BREAK THAT UNSPOKEN RULE!! pressure me into updating yall..

The comic in it's entirety should be about 23 pages and in the end it will be physically printed. The comic is I'd say probably for teens? It's a horror comedy about a dog cult and a cat named Nyx that wants to escape.

I don't know what else to put here, but I guess it'll be updated as I go. Thanks for coming to this page y'all!

#do either have any aspirations of being leader someday or are they almost looking for another cat to take that role? @hiddenvalleyclan

MP: "I've... sort've avoided thinking about it. Pitchstar was our last leader, and he left big pawsteps to fill. Dad told me that before Pitchstar's time, leadership was passed down from parent to child, but when Pitchstar became leader, he did away with that rule. Fogfreckle and I haven't really talked about it. I don't think we need a new leader just yet, with it only being the two of us."

FF: "A leader is what makes a Clan. Well, and the rest of the cats, or that'd just be some narcissistic loner walking around," Fogfreckle chuckles. "I think being leader would be cool. It's a big responsibility, of course, and I'm not sure that I'm cut out for it, but it would be cool. It's not my main goal in life or anything, but if my clan members were still here, I'd be pretty honored if I was chosen to lead the clan someday."

Moon 3 - Part 1

A collage-style comic.
The title reads: "MOON 3 - THE FORGOTTEN HOUSE - Morning"
The first panel shows three cats standing in front of a decrepit house.
Babyleg- a large tabby cat with a tear in one ear- has his back to the camera.
Approaching Babyleg from offscreen are Longpaw- a small grey cat carrying a bag of beef jerky- and Gutterrat- a tall tortoiseshell cat carrying a dead rat. Gutterrat has some small scrapes on her.
Babyleg is saying: “Ho there, clanmates! Oh— strike me lucky, little one– good find.”
Text reads: "Babyleg sniffed at Longpaw’s ‘catch’ deeply– theatrically. Gutterrat would have laughed, at Longpaw’s age. Longpaw did not."

The next panel shows babyleg with his paws clasped and a happy expression, in front of a picture of a bag of beef jerky.

Text reads: “How I’ve missed this human dross– smell that? That’s nothing your Starclan ever meant for cats t’eat. Heavenly stuff– good catch indeed!”

Text below it reads: "Longpaw’s ears flattened, a little. Her eyes slid sideways, trying to catch Gutterrat’s."

The next panel shows Gutterrat in front of a thought bubble that takes up most of the panel. The words in it are hand-written and hard to make out; they're mostly discussing difficulties with the clan being unable to fight and hunt enough, and not being sure what to do in an emergency.
Gutterrat has a 'thinking' pose.

The next panel shows Gutterrat looking surprised at the thought bubble pops. She says "Oh! “Yeah! Uh– nice job, Longpaw.”

Below, text reads: "Did Longpaw’s ears droop, a little? Gutterrat blinked, jarred out of her thoughts. She ached, all over– rat-bites, and little claw-marks. Her jaw sore, her neck. Eyes like the roads in wintertime; dry salt crust. That wouldn’t do. Not with the two of them, looking at her that way. She shoved her ears forward– hadn’t realized that she’d let them droop. "

“Well! A feast here, and I’m starving. Does anybody want first bite?”

Finally, a thought bubble comes from a talking head of babyleg, looking embarrassed. He's thinking "Wait, I actually gotta eat this now… wonder if I can convince Gutterrat to trade with me. The stuff tastes like hot asphalt…"

Gutterrat’s friend says nice things about Longpaw, but it just makes Gutterrat feel guilty.
