🎆 What do omens/messages from StarClan look like to your cats? - Omens can be interpreted by medicine cats (or others, if they assume what they're interpreting is an omen) and can be just about anything! Clouds rolling quickly across the sky, discarded bug parts found in an uncommon area, a gathering of birds in the branches of a barren tree - it can really be anything! The expanded version of the question was answered here!

“Alpinepaw, what are you talking about? You’re being scary.” “It’s called the Chasm. That’s where bad cats go when they die. They say it goes so far down, not even the lights of Silverpelt reach. Their evil souls are thrown into the Chasm by StarClan, and become Chasm-Cursed.” “That’s not true! You’re making this up!” Alpinepaw shrugs, trying not to let his smile show. “That’s what Fogfreckle told me.”

🌍 What are some of your irl inspirations for the lore/worldbuilding of your comic? -I'm an avid fan of hiking, so my biggest inspiration is probably just the landscape of the northeast! I'm a huge outdoorsy nerd and I love to explore, so writing a story about a big journey just made sense! Also, Moonstar and Fogfreckle being siblings is directly inspired by two cats that I catsit for - Hans and Dominic! They're brothers, and I'm fully obsessed with the pair of them. I decided to make a siblings-focused ClanGen run because of them!

Answered Moon's asks here, and Fog's asks here! 🏵 Areas that are considered cursed or sacred? Your clan’s equivalent to Moonstone/Moonpool? - In their old territory that they left behind, the cats lived close to the base of the mountain, overlooking a meadow of lupines. At the center of the meadow, one would sit in a ring of flowers and gaze unblinkingly at the stars to commune with StarClan. If the night was dark and no stars were visible, StarClan did not wish to be communed with. - In the territory they're making their way to, there will be a place called Star's Reach, which I won't reveal too much about just yet. :) - Not necessarily a sacred area, but when conditions are foggy, cats believe that the clouds being down on Earth means that StarClan can visit/commune with living cats who aren't leaders or med cats. - Only known to StarClan cats, Cloud Nine is where important figures such as (but not limited to) past leaders and medicine cats meet with each other to discuss prophecies or survey the clan. On Cloud Nine, StarClan cats can look down into a swirling mass of churning clouds much like looking into a crystal ball to observe living cats. - The Chasm. Not discussed much yet in the comic, but the Chasm is NimbusClan's Dark Forest. It's a cursed area where the souls of cats who don't make it into StarClan end up. The cats who belong to the Chasm can be referred to as Cats of the Chasm, or Chasm-Cursed. Living cats can also be considered Chasm-Cursed, which will be explained later in the story. The Chasm is also referred to as the Way Down, and less often as the Place of No Stars.

🪵 What natural resources does your clan collect for tools, rituals, decoration, etc.? -NimbusClan is quite similar to canon Warrior Cats in their intelligence, so anything they may use for supplies is going to be the same as in the books. Moss, bark, flowers, various herbs, fur, feathers, etc. If it's naturally occurring in their territory, they probably use it for something.

⏩ How far ahead do you play in clangen? How far ahead do you draw/write? - In-game, I am currently on Moon 105! I meant to stop a lot earlier, but... I was having too much fun and couldn't stop myself. >w< I have an outline completed up to Moon 69 (hehe), the actual story drafted up to Moon 30, and comic pages come out as soon as I finish them! Drawing takes the longest for me, and the support of those that read and enjoy the comic helps me stay motivated, so it works best for me to upload as soon as I finish an update instead of building up a backlog.

✏️ Who’s your favorite character to draw/write? - Moonstar and Fogfreckle are equally fun to write, I'd say, but answering asks and things from Fogfreckle's perspective I probably have sliiiightly more fun with. Because the comic is from Moonstar's POV, it's extra fun to talk from his POV for a bit! Moonstar is my favorite to draw. Her round shape is super fun for me to do, and something about Fogfreckle's face I just CANNOT GET RIGHT CONSISTENTLY. I do have fun drawing his cloud rosettes, but Moonstar is just so easy to color that she's definitely my favorite to draw.

lowkey obsessed w Wheattail and Bouncecloud’s designs especially….. is there perhaps any lore to share for them ?

Aaah, I'm so happy you like their designs!!

Wheattail's in-game characteristics are loving, skilled mediator, and valuable insight. He and his mate, Windvalley, were both the same age when they died - 97 moons! He acted as deputy for a very short time while Murkstar, the leader at the time, waited for her son to become old enough to take on the role.

Bouncecloud's in-game traits are righteous and great fighter. She died tragically young at 19 moons when she got trapped on patrol. :') As such, she didn't have much of a hand (paw?) in raising her son, Cliffstripe. As an apprentice, desperate to prove her worth despite being half-kittypet, she excelled so well that she graduated two whole moons early!

Like this! I only did direct lineage for this family tree, 'cause otherwise with various mates and cousins and distant relatives it would've taken forever to draw and, frankly, it's not important.

And yes - though most of these relatives are not important lore-wise, they DO have backstories. So, if you're curious about any of them, feel free to send in an ask!

MP: "I've... sort've avoided thinking about it. Pitchstar was our last leader, and he left big pawsteps to fill. Dad told me that before Pitchstar's time, leadership was passed down from parent to child, but when Pitchstar became leader, he did away with that rule. Fogfreckle and I haven't really talked about it. I don't think we need a new leader just yet, with it only being the two of us."

FF: "A leader is what makes a Clan. Well, and the rest of the cats, or that'd just be some narcissistic loner walking around," Fogfreckle chuckles. "I think being leader would be cool. It's a big responsibility, of course, and I'm not sure that I'm cut out for it, but it would be cool. It's not my main goal in life or anything, but if my clan members were still here, I'd be pretty honored if I was chosen to lead the clan someday."

YES! I made a map of the territory they'll end up in and everything - though I kinda borked myself by drawing updates 'til now with red rocks, because I decided AFTER I had started drawing the comic that I wanted them to be somewhere familiar to me - a sort've fictional version of the mountain ranges of New England. I hadn't thought much about it while playing, and the game has the mountain setting somewhere with kea and buzzards and venomous snakes and spiders (which New England is not home to, for the most part), so I'll probably just... gently start drawing the scenery more northern and change the animals to match, lmao. I'm keeping the location fictional instead of basing it on a specific place to give myself some leeway, though.
