FULL OFFENSE but i really love my friends. like. theyre the best thing ever created. literal blessing. amazing. wonderful. important.
Not related to what i usually post but I felt the need to vent, and the topic of my venting is Fancalls or more specifically Serial Fancallers. Now Serial Fancallers are people who get into almost every Fancall for a group or idol that is having one, I would consider someone a serial Fancaller if they got into around 5+ calls but honestly even 3 is pushing it for me. Now what bothers me is Dedicated Atiny getting little to no opportunity to win these Fancalls because the delusional fans (usually the stalkers) keep entering and winning. The reason they win is because they host GOs and are basically using other peoples money to increase their chances. Some GOMs (group order managers) straight up don’t tell their buyers that their claims are funding their entries for these FCs. I know people say “it’s their money they can do whatever they want.” Fact is though..it’s not really money from their own pocket, their followers and buyers are funding it and idk about you but I’d be extremely uncomfortable buying from a Serial Fancaller knowing they will be using it to get into Fansigns and calls.
The other real problem is that it creates parasocial relationships and I know that’s quite common in Kpop regardless of the calls, but they are definitely thee worst contribution to it. The more calls these people win the more they think they’ve formed some sort of relationship with the idol be it romantic or friendly. And not only that but most serial Fancallers are absolute scammers, say the most out of pocket things in the idols face and call people poor for not being able to Win any calls when their delusional behavior is brought up.
What Serial Fancallers have been doing nowadays is raffling calls here and there to their followers to make themselves seem nice and giving. This only happened when they started to get dragged/called out and regardless of how many raffles they do to give their followers an “opportunity” at the end of the day they don’t truly care about them. They’ll put them in group chats, barely give updates to those who bought from them and they’ll just straight up post about all their calls and fansign opportunities while their buyers are left to wonder where their items are. Why people still support BIG GOMS and refuse to buy from smaller ones is beyond me. I do get that the more popular GOMs can be trusted sometimes because otherwise no one would buy from them, but by buying from those kind of people you only fuel their indecent behavior.
Give smaller GOMs a chance, they are trying, they are polite and they only want one chance at something others get way too many times.
