"i am agab" ❌
"i was agab" ✅
"agab" (assigned gender at birth) describes a past event where you were merely assigned a label by a doctor
not biological sex,
and not an identity label.
anything that targets cis women like abortion bans and child marriage are going to also affect trans men/mascs
anything that targets trans people like hrt bans and hate crimes are going to also affect trans men/mascs
and there are also issues that disproportionately affect trans men/mascs like being denied health care based on medical records indicating that they are or were taking testosterone or the harms that come with chest binding for long periods of time or the increased rates of depression/attempted suicide/sexual assault that trans men/mascs suffer from
all these different types of oppression intersect in a way that we call:
alright im starting to just flat out not trust people who arent trans men/mascs that refer to trans MEN as "tboys" and/or "trans boys"
every time i see that shit its usually tied to some really shitty statement in the same exact fucking post
i might have to start collecting screenshots from now on of what im talking about to demonstrate my point later
but anyway, heres a not so friendly reminder: stop infantilizing us by calling us "boys". its trans MEN or trans GUYS or trans DUDES. you should not be calling anyone a trans boy unless you are familiar with them and they are comfortable with that. because a lot of us fucking arent.
"terfs love cis women and thats why they love trans men/mascs"
those are not the same thing unless you yourself think they are worstie <3
Person thinks trans men can’t reclaim “tranny”?
Wow, that’s stupid. Block ‘em.
Some asshole believes that trans men are uniquely misogynistic or privileged or whatever fun discourse buzzword they’re using today?
Their prejudice is not your problem. Block ‘em.
Random blogger says trans men don’t experience (insert common form of transphobia here)?
Don’t try to prove them wrong by sharing details of your trauma. Just block ‘em.
The worst offenders aren’t going to change. They’re not going to listen to you, or engage in a good-faith debate. Speaking from experience, showing them any vulnerability will just result in it being used against you.
It’s sad, but these people are stuck in a discourse tar-pit that makes them see their trans siblings as enemies. They have to pull themselves out; they won’t hear a word you say, not when they’ve already made up their minds about you.
Don’t give them a platform. Don’t waste your time and energy on bad-faith arguments. Spend it with people who don’t make misunderstanding you their favorite hobby.
Make sure you've blocked fite-club/rittz. Like half of the inane discourse yapping goes away when you do, it's great.
Today was scary but raising 3k with my sister and being with my girlfriend filled me with hope. I love being transgender and I'll never stop.
"Masculinity is rewarded" have you ever spoken to a transmasc or a butch or a tomboy or any masculine woman/person perceived as a woman. Have you ever spoken to a gnc transfem.
Maybe the community could start saying “how could I be an ally to trans men” instead of “how can I tell you you’re wrong about your own experiences “
I’m sorry , but where the hell did people hear that ‘theyfab’ originated as a term to ‘call out transmisogynistic afab nonbinary people’ 😭.
It’s from 4chan . It’s from /tttt .
'Theyfab' was made to mock afab nonbinary ppl that they labeled as 'trenders' because they think being nonbinary was made up by 'white girls who want to be quirky'.
The term 'Theymad' is used to - to a much lesser extent then theyfab - and it's used to mock amab nonbinary people for either being 'closeted trans women' or for being 'femboys in denial'.
Nix, They/Them, Queer, 20s Sporadically active.Do not gender me.
