I love putting beloved characters through the wringer

So, here's another one from December! I was looking at it and wanted to add some pizzazz... so I went crazy with my photoshopping skills

And I discovered this new technique for scanned pencil art- if you add a new layer, paint it black, then set the blend mode to "overlay", it will increase contrast without losing fidelity or making the entire picture too bright/too dark. Play around with this yourself!

🌌 A galaxy griffin! One of the first things I drew when I got alcohol markers earlier this year. I didn't get all of the colors so I awkwardly tried to use a mint color I had in place of what was meant to be a cooler tone of blue. I also don't like how the shadows look washed out, that was me attempting to color blend.

During drawing this, I played around with the Bing AI image creator and typed in a prompt similar to "galaxy griffin" to reference off of. It's fun to get inspired off of it. (I won't go into an artist vs. AI debate, I just think it's a good way to get drawing inspiration. But you're free to tell me what you think about it in the comments, so long as it's kept civil.)

(Had to reupload this to fix something) Today Minecraft turned 10 :D Happy birthday to my favorite game of all time! I crafted (pun intended) this picture in Pixlr with my skin that I've been using for the past 6-7 years. It's your typical girly Minecraft skin XD (More specifically, that skin is a girl in a pink bunny suit and when I found it on some random skin website I thought it was super cute and it took me a good amount of time to figure out how to download it) - Something golden about Minecraft is that it appeals to all ages. To this day I still play and haven't yet grown out of it. This is single handedly one of the best video games out there. It's so blocky and simple but appealing, and you just keep coming back to place those last blocks so you can finish building that glorious house you've been working on. It’s definitely not for everyone, but it’s shaped a lot of people’s childhoods, mine included. If you’ve never played it before, go play the demo or something XD. Start up that fresh new world and be a noob on your first night like I was. Nothing beats experiencing Minecraft for the first time. I recently discovered this term called f/o which means "fictional other" and while I don't really self insert like that, it's fun to imagine my favorite characters in f/o scenarios :3

Art based off a scene from a lovely fanfiction called "Lost Time". My rendition of Kaden's outfit was inspired by Gashu-Monsata's reference sheet.

Mini spoiler-free review below to see if you'd be interested in reading!

The story is as much about Kaden as it is about Ratchet and Clank. It starts off during when Tachyon attacked, and fast forwards twenty years later where he's in the new dimension with the rest of the Lombaxes.

The way the author portrayed Kaden's suffering after surviving "The Exodus" and with a reason that actually makes sense as to why he didn't go back for Ratchet in the original dimension was very believable. I really related to Kaden in this story for personal reasons.

The only thing I'd have liked to see is to have had spent a bit more time with Ratchet and Clank before they went to the Lombax dimension and to have fleshed out their prologue a little more.

Overall good pacing with a solid, cohesive story. I highly recommend it!
