One big unicorn :)
He's going through it, guys
I love putting beloved characters through the wringer
So, here's another one from December! I was looking at it and wanted to add some pizzazz... so I went crazy with my photoshopping skills
And I discovered this new technique for scanned pencil art- if you add a new layer, paint it black, then set the blend mode to "overlay", it will increase contrast without losing fidelity or making the entire picture too bright/too dark. Play around with this yourself!
Without the filters and overlays:
It makes a mega difference!
I also scanned it before deciding I wanted to put more detail onto it, so here's a bonus pic:

A sketch of Chris in possum powers!
A few years ago, I actually met an opossum that wandered into our closed off porch. I wanted to pet it so bad lol
So when I was 8 or 9, I did lots of things; go outside to make mud pies, climb trees, do art class and PE every alternating week, surf the web, play on the Xbox 360 with my brother, and watch cartoons on the telly (one of which being Wild Kratts).
I also loved to play flash games online on the family computer all the time, so I can’t remember which I found first, the WK flash games on the PBS website or the show itself, although come to think of it, it might’ve been the show first because the ad at the end credits where they said they have flash games on the website is probably how I found those; and I watched other PBS shows like Oso Special.
I loved the cheetah racer game and remember it being really hard to beat level (I think?) 4, and wandering around the various biomes in the power disks you won through playing. RIP Flash 😢
As for the fandom, the memory had been completely dormant for the past 11 years until about two months ago, when YouTube recommended me a video titled something like “Remember Wild Kratts?” and I was like oh yeah I used to watch that! Then moved on to the next video.
Then about a week later I get a picture of Zach Varmitech on my Pinterest feed, and I’m like, isn’t that… Wild Kratts, right? (I recognized the distinct art style along with Zach, but totally forgot his name)
Then I went down a rabbit hole of fanart and found @yes-asil’s tazzy Martin comics, and the rest is history 🥳
pic to grab your attention
Okay now. Question for Wild Kratts(/the Kratt Brothers) fandom.. ... .. .. .
Q: Why did you join this fandom? Or how did you get into this fandom?
reblog for an answer!
I think the someone's been watching too many cartoons lol. So basically what this is is a little comic idea with two male animal characters that I made up recently. (I got inspired by pet_foolery on Instagram) They're not official boys just yet, so think of this as a little test page. I've actually already named them, but I'm not 100% happy with my picking, so I won't tell you what their names are yet :3 I've already settled on the bulkier one's species, but I need to do construction on it. (I first made up the species, "Bearroossom", in 2016 lol I need to come up with a better name) I might make the skinnier one a different species? He looks more like a wolf so maybe I'll classify him as the same species but a different breed. Kinda like dogs. • I'm also experimenting in this comic strip :3 Neither of them have any distinct features (like fur color because there are no colors to begin with) other than their faces. I wanna be able to make a comic no matter how simple it is (like this black and white pencil strip) and have the reader be able to distinguish the different characters just by looking at their face. (Btw I drew this entirely from memory plus I didn't wanna spend too much time on something as simple as this so anatomy may be wonky is some places) But yeah, hopefully I managed to portray that at least somewhat. • © Do not trace, copy or steal my art. •
Some bubbles I drew with colored pencils in my then-new black sketchbook :D

I felt like drawing a prehistoric animal today XD and drew a giraffe-camel =P (It's actually an aepycamelus, I just made that part up) This is the first time I used reflective light, and I like how the shading pops out on the belly and doesn't blend into the leg. That's something I had problems with when shading things before, but now I know some more tricks :3 • I also drew a rat skeleton on the same page (I'll upload that later), so I cropped it out in Pixlr and put a pentagon around the main focus. I've never used that technique before, and I think it's pretty cool to say the least. :D (Those toes were surprisingly difficult to draw btw) • One more thing, since this is transparent, the black background IG automatically puts in will make it pop out more this time instead of making it blend in :D • Time Taken: 1 Hr 20 Mins Date Drawn: 5/3/2019 • © Do not trace, copy or steal my art.
Tazzy Chris sketch!
I'm still learning how to use Krita so I've been doodling a bunch of Wild Kratts lol
Bonus sketches:
(Trying to figure out the logistics of humanoid anatomy walking like a quadruped)
The Pug-a-Pillar wants a treat!
Making this was fun! I recently got more copic marker colors so I made this with them. I haven't done marker art in a while and there's definitely a learning curve with the alcohol based ones 😆
(It's unrelated but, made on Valentine's Day 🩷)
