So a lot has gone on in the last little bit. NASA recently was ordered to scrub their site of women's contributions to astronomy and astrophysics, even took down their page celebrating women's history month and all the contributions they've made to NASA. So I did a thing and crawled through the wayback machine to find some articles, and decided to put this right here because fuck the government, fuck the orange in charge who told them to scrub their site, and fuck NASA for throwing their people under the bus and bowing to this authoritarian nonsense. This version of the site still has articles on some important figures like Eileen Collins, the first woman to command a space shuttle, and ISS chief scientist Jennifer Buchli and chief deputy scientist Meghan Everett, who, in their words, "-provide the science strategy and make science recommendations for the International Space Station program, and help make sure all of the science on the International Space Station goes smoothly, from preparing for launch to conducting research on the space station with the scientists and astronauts and returning the science to Earth."

One of the best things about going to a single sex girls school was that they gave us a series of classes on female specific self defence incase we were attacked by a male.
I remembered some tips I thought would be useful for women to know
I don’t remember everything but here are some tips I do remember
- often times male perpetrators will cover their groins so don’t focus on the crotch, instead focus on places like the eyes and knees.
- if you’re really in a dire situation where a man is straddling you then try and snap his legs apart very quickly with yours, because this can disable them very quickly.
- you can also impact on the under side of the nose to kill a man if you really need to. Useful to know.
- they’ll try and disable your hands, and if this happens use your feet or your head. Women have biologically less upper body strength so these are also effective at making impact.
- avoid men doing a stupid walk with baggy trousers on. A lot of the time this means they have a knife, and if it doesn’t then they’re stupid and you should avoid them anyway.
-if you’re stabbed avoid taking the knife out, because it acts as a plug to stop you from bleeding out.
- In terms of prevention, it’s helpful to basically always keep friends around you, but also to go to establishments you know will care if you’re being hurt. I personally have been spiked before in a club that didn’t care at all, and it was horrible - do your research before you go out.
These are obviously limited tips but I enjoy this channel as a means of learning self defence - https://youtube.com/@empowered8083?si=lU2YEI89phKXgEJi

“Oh yeah, we mixed with lesbians. We always got along back then. All that division between the lesbian women and queens came after 1974 when Jane O'Leary and the radical lesbians came up. The radicals did not accept us or masculine-looking women who looked like men. And those lesbian women might not even have been trans. But we did get along famously in the early 60’s. I’ve been to many a dyke party… The lesbian community today has a lot to learn from the old ways of the lesbian community.”

Unpopular opinion(s) concerning Rogue under the cut for spoilers:
(Feel free to ask if you want clarification on any of my opinions or have your own point of view, I’m always open to hearing multiple perspectives!)
1) It should have been a two parter.
It just felt to me like the relationship between the Doctor and Rogue was rushed? Maybe I just don’t like the Doctor being allo after years of being heavily Aroace + romance/sex repulsed coded, but they met for like a few hours tops and the Doctor is looking a wedding-adjacent ring and sighing?
Also, the bird monsters needed more time onscreen. They were cool and needed more background on their motivations/world/personalities. They don’t even have names! It should have been like the Slitheen, where they all have their own distinct identities despite having the same motivations. What we got was…bratty whiny bird woman 1, bratty whiny bird woman 2, bad boy bird man, the other bird man, and Emily. Though to be fair I liked the Emily twist.
2) I don’t understand Doctor/Rogue
Rogue is a bounty hunter. He kills people for a living. The Doctor despises unnecessary violence, and is even shown in the episode to disagree with Rogue’s methods, so why would they have him fall for Rogue? Why did he fall for Rogue anyways? Because they treat it like a serious emotional commitment for the Doctor rather than physical attraction (which is what it came across as for me.)
The Doctor doesn’t even approve of River’s overly violent behavior (Doctor/River is a whole other dislike of mine but that’s a different tangent) and she’s his wife. Maybe this is just me being salty about rushed romances that are treated as far more important than friendships (*cough* The Doctor wasting time flirting with Rogue when he knows full well that he’s just left Ruby in a space with murderous aliens *cough*)
Overall:
It was a meh episode to me. None of the episodes have really stood out to me other than the Devil’s Chord. Villains had no individual identities, weren’t super memorable. Bridgerton name drops got really annoying (Like hello?? The Doctor is canonically a Jane Austen fan and not one P&P reference??). Rogue was kind of interesting, but the rushed romance and the sudden heel face turn of him becoming self sacrificing and selfless really came out of nowhere ngl.
5/10 imo
Despite the failure of Sista Surge Media to meet its goal by the deadline, Distro Sisters is going strong, and is projected to launch by the end of the month! We could not have done this without you! We still, however, urgently need your support in our Florida launch, and further expansion!
▪︎ [FUND US]: https://donorbox.org/distrosisters ▪︎ [DONATE]: https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/ls/ref=mw_dp_wl_v?&lid=2O442WOIL51HB&ty=wishlist ▪︎ [JOIN US]: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSeP87HnK5cfkfOlozKvemFai0oqpmV2wYPIvqkcfFX93tcA1w/viewform?usp=send_form
We have branches planned for the Atlanta, Baltimore, Philadelphia, and Tampa areas. In the coming months, we will be reworking Sista Surge Media to pitch to investors and large donors, so that we can continue operations without relying on financial contributions from our supporters. We realize that there are many causes our sisters support, many of varying urgencies and demands—so we want to be able to support those too!
We were able to get food, medicine, menstrual hygiene products, and personal hygiene products thanks to the help we’ve received from all of you! We thank you for that, and appreciate your efforts! Now, all we need is funding for a small warehouse bay which will function as our base of operations, shelving units, first aid kits, and a refrigerator to store the perishables. We have our sister Natalie who is providing us with uniforms, and Yaya Por Vida who provides us with NAXALONE and contraceptives, so thank you to our precious allies!
We also understand that some sisters would be more willing to send contributions when they are tax-deductible, so we’re currently working on a non-profit to help us collect contributions efficiently, and to help fund other efforts that are close to all our hearts. Sista Surge Media will be the foundations of these operations. It will provide our sisters with jobs, and supply a large portion of funding to our other initiatives, like the International Womyn’s Army, ReproFight, and Distro Sisters.
If you are still willing and able to contribute in its current form, you can do so at: https://donorbox.org/sistasurgemedia
Thank you, deeply, to everyone who is involved, or has been involved at some point! You are deeply appreciated!
In strength, sisterhood, and solidarity

Heart attacks symptoms are different for women. I recently learned this.
“Let me describe to you what kind of world gender abolitionists actually dream about: When a child would be born it’s biological sex, being an actual physical reality, would be noticed but not a single assumption regarding the child’s personality would be made based on it. Growing up, children would be free to chose what toys and clothes they prefer. If they want to play with toy trucks or dolls, it would be fine either way. If they want to dress comfortably or in frilly colorful dresses, it would be fine. Regardless of the child’s biological sex. Certain personality traits would not be encouraged in members of one sex and discouraged in the other. Females would be free to be strong, brave and assertive and males would not be shamed for being shy and soft spoken. No female child would be called a tomboy and no male child would be called a sissy. No kid would ever be bullied for what we in our gendered world call “gender expression”. When children would reach puberty they would still be free to dress how they want. Females would not be pressured to wear clothes that reveal their bodies and males would not be shamed if they chose to. Everybody would have a free choice of accessories, which would not be categorized as “men’s” or “women’s” but people could should whichever they liked. Or chose to not wear accessories at all if that’s what they are more comfortable with. Females would not be pressured to keep their bodies slim, soft and hairless. Males would not be pressured to be athletic and muscular. Expectations of femininity and masculinity upon the body would not exist and affect negatively people’s relationship with their own body. Everyone could choose a career without fearing stigmatization within that particular field because of their biological sex. The most important thing would be competence and not what someone has between their legs. Domestic work would not be considered “women’s work” and would be shared equally between the sexes. Biological sex would only be thought about when relevant. Like for example in regards to issues surrounding sexual activity, reproduction or treatment of medical conditions related to a person’s biological sex. And everyone would be free to be themselves without ever having to worry about gender expectations. Nobody would feel the need to repress certain parts of their personality and exaggerate others in order to fit into some gender role that is being forced on them. Gender abolitionism is not about restricting people’s choices but about giving them greater freedom.”

body neutrality will always be more important than body positivity. you don't need to expand your definition of beauty to include yourself. you have a nose for breathing, legs for walking, and eyes for seeing. you don't owe "beauty" to anyone. learn to be comfortable in your body without having to be seen as 'attractive". confidence does not mean attractiveness
First of all, prostitution is not the oldest profession- it's the oldest form of slavery. The oldest profession is midwifery. So jot that down.
non smoker lung cancer is underfunded, 2/3rds of people who get it are women, and the amount of women getting it is rapidly increasing. some of it may be environmental, like pollutant exposures, and some may be biological/genetic, but there's virtually no research despite lung cancer being the leading death causing cancer in women, more than breast or cervical.
