one of my favorite tropes is when pidge is the last one to find out 💀
the thing that bothers me about dragon riders is that the dragon absolutely does not have to let you climb on its back. your ability to 'ride' the dragon is entirely dependent on the dragon allowing you to do that. it could fly just fine without you sitting there. which means you are not a dragon rider, not really. that beast is not your pet. you're the dragon's pet. you're its trophy wife.
I feel like someone would bring up the point that ghosts wouldn't age so we don't know how long phantom has been dead for and say they should look into ski accidents in the past or look for a missing child report from not just now but in the past as well
I was just thinking about Dannys hatred for Christmas and how funny / odd itd be if Amity's citizens start noticing how snappy and overly emotional and aggressive Danny gets in December and start to collectively think it's because he died in December and is still having a hard time processing it.
Badabababa I'm loving it!
Lois Lane is hunting Danny to get an interview with the King of the afterlife, or whatever it is Phantom does. (Mama wants another Pulitzer for the pile!)
Danny is trying like hell to avoid her, since he's not supposed to just tell people how the afterlife works. (Also, Lois scares him.)
"Hide me!" Phantom shrieked before ducking underneath Batman's cape.
They were barely given a moment to even be surprised before the doors slammed open.
Lois Lane stood proudly in front of the doors, somehow finding a way onto the Justice League watchtowers. She scanned the room with her eyes narrowed like a predator trying to find prey as she grit her teeth and snarled, "Where is he?"
Superman coughed. "Lois! What are you doing here? Actually— how'd you even get here?"
Lois waved him off. "Don't worry about it. Where. Is. He?"
Batman was furiously typing away on his phone, possibly trying to find out how a civilian (admittedly married to a fellow superhero) was able to get into the watchtower, while everyone else shared looks.
"Uhm. Who?" Green Lantern asked awkwardly, exchanging a glance with the Flash.
"He! Phantom! He owes me an interview! Actually, he owed me one 45 minutes ago! I had to chase him from New York to Mexico to Peru and then to here! Where is he?!"
Wonder Woman said rather blandly, "He's not here."
Lois narrowed her eyes. "Are you sure?"
Wonder Woman nodded sagely. "Yes. He darted out of sight using his powers. Perhaps he hoped that you'd waste your time here while he ran off further."
"Dang it! Alright, excuse me, please, I need to search for a certain ghost!" Lois snapped before she strode off like a storm, just as quick as she appeared.
There was silence for a long time.
Then Phantom poked his head out of Batman's cape.
"Thanks for the assist, guys. Also, Batman, did you know that your cape is actually partly a portal?"
"I'm sorry, what—?!"
No cuz this is true like so so true because I am also a big venti fan. There's just not enough. We know about him and if you think about it, the god of wisdom told us that they as archons get their power from the faith of the people. Venti said that they got their power from ruling over their nation. Why did he lie to us? And isn't he the one with a cathedral? That indicates that he should be stronger than he's letting on. He shouldn't be counted as the weakest so why did he lie? What is he hiding?
These are all things that HAVEN'T BEEN ANSWERED HOYOVERSE GIVE US ANSWERS!
Being a Venti fan takes such a strong will because he’s this complex and interesting character with so much potential but more often than not he’s treated like a joke.
The game’s like oh you want to know more about Venti? You want to see him be serious and vulnerable again in a way he’s probably never had the chance to be before like in his story quest? You want a sequel to that quest? You want to know why he’s mentioned in the chasm and Enkonomiya? What his enigmatic connection to time and memory means? What his secretive relationship with Celestia is like? You want more information on pre archon Venti and Old Monstadt? You want to know his role in the destruction of Khanri’ah and how he felt about it? You want to know if he has identity issues from building his existence on the legacy of someone else? If he ever gets tired of of playing the carefree bard? If there’s times when no one is watching where it all becomes to much and he just breaks?
Well what if instead he drank some alcohol and Paimon went “haha classic bard” and then he gave you a cryptic riddle about whatever’s currently happening and then left? What then huh?
Archons and their flowers 💐✨
HP Hatecraft, the opposite of HP Lovecraft.
HP Hatecraft, the world's least racist author who owns a cat with a normal name
Right, I forgot, ALSO: when Fyodor frames the Agency as terrorists by putting them into a universe where they’re all evil, this is a reference to how many of the Agency authors practiced Naturalism: the literary movement that Mori hated that claimed to write “life as reality shows it”, but instead many Naturalist authors used this excuse to glorify the sexualization of incest, rape, and abuse (Junichiro Tanizaki is the most famous for giving Naturalism this horrific reputation, as not only did he write about the first and last of these three, he abused his IRL wives and was known to date much younger women. Does the teenager incest in the show make sense now?).
Meanwhile, the Mafia authors practiced Romanticism, the movement that existed prior to Naturalism in Japan and was focused on creating stories that made a reader FEEL something, regardless of how true-to-life it was. A lot of them (Mori and Akutagawa especially) pushed back against this new wave in their own writing. By swapping their roles like this, Fyodor therefore sets to put the world back to how it played out in real life: Naturalism wasn’t seen by Japan as courageous underdogs, but an uncontrollable corruption of their pre-existing literary standards. However, through the metaphor of BSD, this course of action is portrayed as evil and villainous, taking anyone who wishes to convey IRL history as it happened and framing them as an evil monster bent on censoring authors’ right to creative expression.
