Okay, I was just sitting here reading a history book when this popped up, and I couldn't help but think about hetalia.

Ahem, translation from Norwegian: "from the day norway became a part of denmark and lost its lord's and kings, it has also lost its strength and power. And is now starting to grow old and gray haired and too weak to bear it's own wool" it's something an old professor from Bergen said in 1567.
