While everyone knows about the iconic Route 66, the old highways of the East Coast have gotten considerably less attention, such as Route 1.  From Wikipedia:

U.S. Route 1 (US 1) is a major north–south U.S. Highway that serves the East Coast of the United States. It runs 2,369 miles (3,813 km), from Fort Kent, Maine, at the Canada–US border, south to Key West, Florida, making it the longest north–south road in the United States.[2] US 1 is generally paralleled by Interstate 95 (I-95), though the former is significantly farther west (inland) between Jacksonville, Florida, and Petersburg, Virginia. The highway connects most of the major cities of the East Coast—including Miami, Jacksonville, Richmond, Washington, D.C., Baltimore, Philadelphia, New York City and Boston, passing from the Southeastern United States to New England. While US 1 is generally the easternmost of the main north–south U.S. Highways, parts of US 9, US 13, US 15, US 17, US 21, occupy corridors closer to the ocean. In some cases, substantial portions of these routes are east of US 1; US 13 terminates only a couple miles west of US 1 after crossing it in Falls Township, PA, with over 99.5% of it running east of US 1. When the road system was laid out in the 1920s, US 1 was mostly assigned to the existing Atlantic Highway, which followed the Fall Line between the Piedmont and the Atlantic Coastal Plain north of Augusta, Georgia.[3] At the time, the highways farther east were of lower quality and did not serve the major population centers.[4] Construction of the Interstate Highway system gradually changed the use and character of US 1, and I-95 became the major north–south East Coast highway by the late 1960s. 

Before I-95 was constructed, Route 1 was the main way people went up and down the East Coast. Whether you were headed to Miami for summer vacation or going up to NYC for business, Route 1 was the way you went. And, not unlike its more famous cousin out West, Route 1 was home to countless motels, restaurants, filling stations, and tourist attractions, all doing business off of road-weary travelers. Many of these places disappeared long ago, while others still survive. This series will be all about the motels, diners, and other businesses of the Route 1, as depicted in the many old postcards you can find online.  Even though the roadside architecture of Route 1 is slowly vanishing, it will live on forever in the Sims.

…It’s 1000% okay if all you did about the sims today was playing without being ‘productive’ (whatever the heck it means). …It’s 1000% okay if all you did about the sims today was opening and closing the game. …It’s 1000% okay if all you did about the sims today was nothing at all. Despite being in this community, after all it’s just a game, and it’s for you to have fun - even if you really wanted and tried your best to share something with us. You will. Take your time. Just enjoy the break or the game without doing anything in order to post on your simblr, but just to play. It’s a game. It’s made for playing whenever and however you want it and if you want it. Don’t feel obligated or pressured to necessarily post everything you do. You will do it whenever you want to and feel like to, no matter what it is, how little or how much.
