Steam Cleansing ♨

Since incense makes me sneeze, I’ve been resorting to a different method of cleansing lately - steam cleansing! It’s exactly what it sounds like, using steam to cleanse your space.

image

Ingredients:

A pot, to be used for boiling water

Essential oils of your choice (about 50 drops total)

Water

Instructions:

Add about 2 cups of water to your pot depending upon how large it is

Otherwise, just fill the pot about halfway with water

Add 50 drops of whichever essential oils you choose

Turn on your stove, and let the water boil

You should start to smell the essential oils throughout your house in very little time

When the water has almost completely evaporated, turn your stove off

Let the pot cool down and proceed to wash it as you would usually do with your dishes

The scent tends to linger all day, if not longer

Repeat as necessary :)

Essential oils for cleansing:

Anise

Camphor

Cedarwood

Citrus oils (bergamot, grapefruit, lemon, lemongrass, lime, orange, tangerine)

Dragon’s Blood

Hyssop

Lavender

Oregano

Peppermint

Pine

Rosemary

Sage

Sandalwood

Spearmint

Thyme

Some essential oils may cause respiratory irritation in both humans and animals, and many essential oils should not be used if pregnant or if you have other various medical problems. Please consult your physician if you have any questions about the use of essential oils.

⏳Spell Timing

Weather

Lighting Storms: power, manifestation, cursing, protection Rainstorms: purification, cleansing, healing, compassion, release Snowstorms: balance, stillness, purification, transformation, letting go Dense Fog: Invisibility, stasis, mysticism, shielding. (NOTE: the veil between the living and dead is thinner when there is fog so don’t forget spirit work and divination!) Heavy Wind: travel, study, intellect, breaking bad habits Searing Hot Days: courage, protection, strength, energy Meteor Showers: power, magickal boost, wishes

Times

1am: Wholeness of self and banishing of shadows. 2am: Ridding relationships of negativity. 3am: Determination when held back. 4am: Improving luck towards an on-edge situation. 5am: Growth of the psychic self. 6am: Motivation towards something you’ve been putting off. 7am: Improved insight and hope. 8am: Personal growth within the conscious mind. 9am: Focus on concrete matters and assistance towards others. 10am: Working on personal conclusions and resolutions. 11am: Energy directed towards transformations which may have seemed impossible. 1pm: Self image and personal security. 2pm: Building relationships and encouraging understanding/love between people. 3pm: Balancing matters of the mind, body and spirit. 4pm: Harmony of elements, sticking to schedules and working to achieve goals. 5pm: Improved intuition and spiritual communication. 6pm: Matters of safety, protection and completion. 7pm: Gentle care towards others, working through differences and coming to agreeable conclusions. 8pm: Leadership, command and guidance. 9pm: Comprehension of universal truth. 10pm: Improving the rational mind, sensibility and clear mindedness. 11pm: Coping with drastic change in a positive manner.

Midnight/Noon: Positive modifications in your life and endings/beginnings. Morning: Daylight hours are best for matters of the conscious mind; including magick for leadership, intelligence and all cognitive functions. Renewal magick and detoxing is also good to do at this time to start your day fresh. Night: The intuitive, emotional self, maternal nature, healing, fertility and moon magick categories are all great for these hours. You can make wishes with stars, interpret dreams, or meditate to bring peace to the end of a stressful day. Dusk & Dawn: These times specifically perfect for new beginnings and ending cycles.

Witchcraft: Topic Ideas for Your Book of Shadows/Grimoire

Please remember that these are just a small number of ideas! This isn't an end-all-be-all. Your magical journals should be personal to you and you alone. Additionally, your book of shadows/grimoire should always grow and change as you do. If you no longer resonate with something or find new information, add, take away, or archive pages! There is absolutely no shame in doing so. Most importantly, have fun!

These are listed in alphabetical order for your convenience.

Don’t wanna send a pic of my alters cuz they are a MESS! But I still wanna talk about this.

Ok so I have an altar for myself and an altar for the deity I worship. My deity altar is on top of a drawer, it has a deity candle in the centre, a box for letters and drawing offerings, a tin box of offerings and a lighter. In the compartment under it is my altar. It’s got herbs, spare string, rocks, a twig that was my wand at some point but snapped in half, a few spells and much more. None of these things cost a lot. And it’s also pretty subtle. A drawer with a candle and two boxes on there? That’s normal. A drawer compartment? That’s also normal. No one has to know about my craft

quick question:

do you guys prefer minimalist altars or over crowded ones?

i just saw a video on youtube from a witch who's altar was very minimal, tidy, expensive looking (they had around 3/4 of those statues of the Gods that cost like $80 each and also a huge deer skull), and overall aesthetically pleasing altar.

it made me kind of insecure about mine because i don't have the money for all those things, and also, my altar contains all the stuff i use the most, not only devotional / worship related things.

feel free to reblog this with pictures of your altars! i'd love to take a look ^^

EDIT: thank you so much to everyone that has reblogged this and gave advice to me! it really has made me feel better. also, your altars look so cool!!!!! i love them all.
