X-MEN ‘97 — Tolerance is Extinction Part 3 (S01E10)
Hello X-Men nation. Have a Morph aka my new comfort character(because we are Enbies fr fr)💅✨
Anyways hi yeah I'm back despite the wrong timing in my end because my finals are approaching so it will take time for me to draw n post. Not only that I have to write a Morpherine Fanfic but thats for another story. Another thing is that—I haven't drawn for many months due to academics that I recently returned to art thanks to yknow...Anyways I hope yall love it! 🫶💗
A real artist would have put them in the pink leopard-print miniskirt.
Pets you.
I don't know if the artist/writer did it on purpose, but I like how, in the very brief flashback glimpses we get of Morph's parents in Exiles:
you could see how those two people could conceivably have a child who grows up to look like this:
Although Exiles Morph's "human child" form is blond like his father. IF TAS Morph has the same origin of being born as a vaguely human-shaped blob (and I'm not 100% sold on that, we really don't know), my headcanon is that TAS Morph's human form is basically copying and combining their parents' features. They didn't even really intend to, they just sort of did it instinctively as they grew, because children expect to look like their parents.
Further headcanon: Whenever child Kevin was upset with one parent, their features would subtly change to resemble the other parent slightly more. That was also an unintentional, subconscious thing. (At first, at least. I could see an older Morph doing it on purpose to be a little shit.) They definitely looked more and more like their mother while she was dying.
Were these three dumbasses watching static?
People seem to forget how powerful original series Morph was. I love this clip/ episode.
Straight up ballin’.
So......
...this is odd. It's consistent with the powers seen in Age of Apocalypse/Exiles, which is where the redesign comes from...
...but this is really not how Morph's powers worked in the old show.
And, like, it's a problem, because I really think the blast in Night of the Sentinels would not have done the kind of damage it did if Morph had this type of body in TAS.
(Animation continuity, what's that?)
It really doesn't work to just say Morph always had the Exiles base form and was just hiding it until now (which doesn't even work anyway, as we see Morph sleeping, unconscious, and flat-lined in the OG show). It needs to be a change that happened between the two shows, but that really needs to be said at some point.
I make very important things
