southern accents are very curly. the drawl does it, I think. lower pitched voices are thicker, and the more Midwest accents have a rough texture feeling. the coast tends to sound cooler than the warm, land-bound lilt.
My tattoo artist told me his teenage son came out to him as trans by giving him a bunch of blue cupcakes and a greeting card that said "it's a boy!"
"That's cute," I said.
"It was NOT cute!" he snapped. "I thought he was pregnant."

feeling dead and numb so I'm reading bad ending hanahaki fics to feel something
So sick of dog motif what about cat motif.
I love you but we don't love the same. I can't be near you when you want me to be. Your love is smothering and your need to keep me safe is trapping me. I'm my own person but I don't know how to show you that. I lash out and hurt you even though I don't mean to. I need you to move slowly around me or I'll bolt. I love you, even though I don't say it. If you stay still I'll sit next to you, and even though we don't understand each other we can be together like that.
if you have socks on while gay, it removes the gay. the gay is gone. so, socks are a negative gay variable. however, if you have socks on while straight, it doesn't increase the straightness, or even square it like one might think. I hypothesize straight is not negative gay, but something else entirely. in this essay I will
damn this 2023 got hands
dostoyevsky kinda ate with “your worst sin is that you have destroyed and betrayed yourself for nothing.”
my nephew is unerringly polite to me. this is a two year old child who says "thank you!" over and over when I make sure to get his favorite stuffie for nap time. this is a toddler who asks "help please" when he's having trouble getting his Legos apart. he says "sorry" when he bumps into me in the hallway.
why? because I do the same to him.
I ask him "hold my hand, please" when we are walking through the store. I say "thank you" when he puts away a toy to help clean up. I tell him "I'm sorry" when I put away a toy that he wasn't done with.
it isn't that hard to be nice to anyone, especially a kid. it really says more about you as a person that you can't see a child as an equal. they still deserve respect, do they not?
I think a big reason why kids have trouble learning to be polite is that no one is ever polite to them

Sorry I growled at the sight of art of a fictional man . I want to bbite him and rip him to shredds . It will happen again
I think it would be funny if the land inverted. like, sea level swaps. hills become valleys, valleys become hills, the Netherlands is still completely fine because they're already below sea level, etc

we are not getting out of the plant blog allegations with this one
Bravery is fear. Bravery is reverence. Bravery is failing, failing, failing, and getting up to fail again. Bravery will not save you - it will not keep you warm, will not protect you, offers you no comfort when you are weak.
But you? You use it to comfort others where you never were. You fail to let others succeed. You will sacrifice everything for the sake of someone else.
When the time comes, there will be no shining glory. There will be no award. No one will lift you into their arms and bring you to safety; but you will know, if only for a moment, what it is like to be God.
Grief never really dies, but it does hide.
No longer will it make itself known, beating in time with your heart during every waking moment and clinging to the wispy ends of your dreams. No, no - grief grows smart. It learns to hide in the gaps between breaths, learns to whisper in your ear as the wind blows. It does not linger long, just enough to make you stop and think.
For the unlucky, it may grab ahold of this moment of weakness and pull you under when you least expect it. For others, though, it fades once again, and you continue forth with only faint memories surfacing in the recesses of your mind.
The scars that grief leaves in your mind run deeper than any physical wound ever could. It tries to convince you that you, too, are lost.
Sometimes, you are.
Sometimes, years may pass without any more than a soft sigh or a flash of light to remind you. You may think it gone, that you have recovered. Healed.
An absence of grief is not healing; it is denial. Healing is letting go of the grief, letting it flow past you in your tumbling river of thoughts without fighting it. The sadness may not fade, but it doesn't have to. You learn to live with it.
But there are times when grief festers and grows. It takes over every thought, every breath, every second of your life. It pulls you under, drowns you in fear and pain. You cannot resurface alone, and without someone to pull you up or a rock to grab ahold of, you may be lost forever. It has happened before, and will surely happen again.
Grief is not always the end, but it can be. It never leaves, waiting for a moment of vulnerability to drag you down again. But the persistent can climb their way back to shore - and are the ones to answer the cries of those who couldn't.

(A Genshin Star!Twins Oneshot)
Aether and Lumine were a pair of stars.
Lumine is brightness, illumination. She shines bright enough to fill the void with soothing light. Unrestrained, she burns everything that turns her way.
Aether is the space between the sky and the heavens. He is the gap between atoms, the space where time wavers, the gateway from the mortal to the immortal realm. With nothing to fill him, he is a grey void, empty of any soul and spirit.
Together, they complete each other. Aether gives Lumine a space to shine; Lumine gives Aether life and love. Without the other, they spiral into despair. Aether becomes a drained husk of a person. Lumine burns herself out until there is nothing left.
For as long as they have existed, they were together. They were born in the blurry beginning nothing-everything of the multiverse; they were built into the entropy of life itself.
Aether and Lumine are not the pair of twins that fell onto Teyvat, not entirely. The twins are a part of them, a human form to observe and learn about everything they can. Their bodies, despite being made of starlight and pure intent, and still made to imitate the most common lifeform in any world. Constrained into a biological shell, they cannot contain all of the existing power they hold. Instead, they act as a conduit that can shape and alter the worlds they visit.
The multiverse is vast and ever-changing. At any given time, there could be hundreds, millions, trillions of Lumine and Aether’s, whether they seem like it or not. They are the universe’s way of monitoring the various worlds and keeping the system running. If they find an issue, they interfere. If they find something interesting, they are free to explore as they please. As long as they are doing their job in some capacity, they are completely autonomous.
The form they take and the experiences they have impact them. While all Lumine and Aether units are inherently identical at the time of their creation, nothing remains the same throughout interaction. They create personalities, relationships, preferences, quirks, and so many other little details that make them unique to each other. Some see their counterpart as a sibling, some a friend, some a lover, and some even an enemy. Many even simply treat the other as a coworker, despite their endless amount of time with them.
But this isn’t about them. This is about our Lumine and Aether; a pair of twins who fell onto Teyvat and witnessed the greatest injustice of their time. When they attempted to leave, they were stopped, and now they are playing a complex and ever-changing game of gods and allogenes.
Well, Aether isn’t. Aether is on his cottagecore arc.
The universe is built on entropy, and in the end, that is all they are.

this oneshot is a sort-of "prequel" to my ongoing fic on ao3 (specifically built off the "aether is on his cottagecore arc) ^-^ if anyone happens to be interested, my username is the same as my tumblr. have a good day!
Some Wanderer and Nahida interactions!! Some of them were inspired from the fanfics I read
wondering if I should post my oneshots here. they're already on my ao3 account, which matches my Tumblr, but I don't know if I want that on my main page. contemplation

just popped a bunch of acne and then wiped over the spots with hydrogen peroxide before washing it, both to disinfect it and because I wanted to see what would happen. it didn't hurt and was just kinda tingly. a little disappointed tbh
