Persona 5/R both failed it’s central theme. It’s literally wearing the aesthetic of rebellion, fuck the system but not following up on it. I played royal and I cannot believe in order to get the true ending, I have to reject the antagonist.
It must suck for Sephiroth knowing that Don Corneo got closer to sleeping with Cloud than he ever will.
I remember when I first saw this scene. My thought process was: dang he took his clothes off to only realize that he didn’t like what he saw and then told him to put his clothes back on :/
What ACTUALLY happened in that scene with Cid and Clive....
Maybe it’s because business school jaded me but I don’t see a problem with Lunchly. They noticed the monopoly lunchables had and made a dupe with real cheese and less calories.
Did anyone have a strong passionate opinion on lunchables before lunchly came out?
I’m not a parent so I’m not well versed on any recent boycotts on lunchables in recent years. Lunchables is just something some kids had every other week for lunch as a snack. Usually the richer kids because parents would absolutely see it as overpriced.
I have heard that the smaller amount of calories is a concern so idk maybe they could double up the food items in each pack.
My initial reaction too. Truly a cursed image.
Firstly so sorry for the graphic image. I found this on the Danganronpa reddit. Also MAJOR DANGANRONPA V3 SPOILERS.
I feel like this very crudely drawn image of Kokichi’s dead crushed up corpse is the last piece I needed to fully accept his death.
Not being able to see the state of the body during the investigation, created a barrier for me to fully understand Kokichi’s exit out of the main story. It just felt like he “left” rather than died.
Additionally, none of the characters saw the dead of the body and that definitely had an impact on their attitude towards him. His death was brushed off because they also never got to see his dead body. Maki didn’t investigate the body and such. There was no opportunity to be traumatized but ample to refuel their hatred towards him.
This is why his absence during the class trial wasn’t discussed to its extent such as with other characters.
I’m no Kokichi Stan but I did warm up to his character pre-chapter 4. I always felt that his death and trial were lackluster and lacked needed impact. Personally, I thought the trial wasn’t very good but seeing a depiction of the body has changed my opinion on the trial.
Kaito also never see Kokichi afterwards because he never lifted the press after it crushed him. Kaito doesn’t really have to carry the weight of the plan and his actions, because he never gets to see the honest result of them. Therefore, he was able to focus on the plan to foul Monokuma and strict to the script that a dead boy wrote.
Danganronpa V3 had many victims where the remaining cast had a short mourning period for (Rantaro, Ryoma and Miu). Each student had different circumstances where the cast couldn’t comment too much on their dead peer. Rantaro distanced himself from others, and no one was particular close to Ryoma or Miu.
However, Kokichi was one where almost no one mourned his death.
It’s interesting for sure. I think more people mourned the losses of the culprits more than the victims.
Was not able to go to AX but found this from someone who did on reddit.
This is one anecdote from the director regarding the show.
"...regarding the choice/dynamic of having 2 male MCs: having observed many other media, Haoling decided that splitting 1 protagonist into 2 characters would make for better storytelling. by giving the characters only half of what they need, their abilities are more grounded, they are forced to cooperate socially, it gives the audience more entertaining and dynamic banter, and they must build trust in order to effectively accomplish tasks."
Love this statement. When I would explain to my friends why people should watch LC, I would say its a time travel show with an unique premise. There are two main leads. Imagine both are trying to ace a midterm (you can pair up with a buddy lol). One person has the paper & pencil and the other has the answer key. They can't ace the midterm alone without the help of each other's resources - so they must to work together to ace the test because they can only do it once. What seems like a simple example gets applied to solving puzzles/mysteries and finding data.
The interesting part is that the main leads have very different approaches to accomplishing the tasks that they are given. Even though they were friends for a long time, when serious things happen like working a job together, they struggle with their different mindsets and it causes a lot of strife between them. Side note, don’t want to take sides here but I wouldn’t argue with the guy who has the literal answer key you know?
Anyway- Slowly, there became a lack of trust between the leads as both of them start to withhold info from the other. That makes it worse and it hits a boiling point.
Something so simple that happens all the time in real life yet is often never depicted in such a real sense, particularly in an animation format. I like the style of anime but I want my stories to be grounded. I want to see my struggles on the screen.
It's also kinda validating to see a friendship fall apart once you decide to become co workers with one another and realize that just because you two both like basketball, doesnt mean maybe you should run a high-stress somewhat illegal business together right after uni to pay off debt :/
Random Orochimaru thought
Really like his character. Reminds me of the other mother/beldum from Coraline for some reason. Similar vibes I guess.
Dude chill. I just gave my opinion on the ship after reading a dozen fics. At the end of the day they are my opinion. I think instead of aggressively accusing me of something, maybe you should relax and not take everything as an attack or micro aggression. It’s easy to call people out on black or white thinking but it also applies to you too. The reason why no one called me out is because a few dozen people agree with me. It’s that simple. You can disagree with my opinion on Sasuke’s character and we can agree to disagree.
I think Boruto era Naruto x Sasuke shippers need to understand that Sasuke won’t be a better partner if he’s with Naruto. It doesnt matter if he secretly elopes with Naruto, he won’t be staying. He has commitment issues and literally can’t stay in one place for too long. I know he loves his brother still but his brother is the sole reason why he’s an incredibly damaged individual who literally will never recover from his trauma. I get that it’s super complicated but it’s one of those things that are indescribable. His brother fucked him over when he didn’t need to (the 518400 times thing) that he fundamentally changed his brain chemistry.
Additionally, I feel like he can’t handle the responsibility of his personal life. He’s the kinda guy who will leave people on read or delivered for months you know? It’s the emotional baggage and genuinely wanting solitude even though he knows it’s not the best path for him. It’s almost like a bad habit, constantly wanting to be alone even though what gets you through the day is knowing you have loved ones waiting for you at home.
Romance does not factor into his character, he’s barely involved with his family because his trauma and baggage goes beyond that.
In canon, it’s because of his job and his past actions that make him feel unwelcome in the village sure. But why should he care about people he doesn’t know? The people he knows want him back more often. He just doesn’t want to for his atonement. He does prioritize Naruto over his family but he still sees the guy like every few years for half an hour before he teleports away again. He doesn’t even hang out with him when he’s back.
What I’m trying to say is that he would 100% treat Naruto the same way he treats Sakura as a romantic partner. Which is find excuses to not hang out and immediately leave after work is done.
People write fanfics about them owning an apartment or whatever, divorcing their partners to be with eachother, etc. yes it’s fanfic lol people can do whatever they want but I would love to read a fic that explores what I’m talking about here.
“Why are you so obsessed with getting in my way?!”
-“Because…you’re my friend.”
They deserved to have a fistfight
