i finished thriller bark!
this arc was so much fun!! the world building is crazy and SOOOO GOOD!!! every arc i love the crew more and more. seeing the scaredy cat trio try to find their way back was so fun. had so many funny moments and one of the best zoro moments! AND WE GOT A NEW MEMBER YAAAAY š«š«š«š«š©·š©·š©·š©·š©·š©·
i finished enies lobby arc!!
nico robin has become a favorite character of mine because of this arc! her backstory was so heartbreaking but so well written. iām so happy she found a place to call home with friends who love her!!!!
the fights were amazing!! luffy using second & third gear was so cool! i loved seeing zoro using new techniques while fighting, heās just very fun to watch to me! sanjiās fire leg was amazing also!! namiās lightning technique was also really fun to watch!
seeing them say goodbye to merry made me so sad but iām so happy they have a new ship along with a new member!! the crew are back together sailing the ocean and iām excited to see whatās next!
crazy to me how tobio could practically read shoyoās thoughts like itās nothing. theyāve known each other for a couple of months but they already know how the other one thinks. they understand each other so well that they donāt even need to speak to be heard. tobio can just take one look at shoyo and know what to do. shoyo can just look up at tobio and communicate with his eyes alone. kagehina can understand one another on a level that no one else could.
robinās backstory is incredibly heartbreaking but so well written. learning the reason WHY ohara was obliterated while also seeing why robin is the way she is. for 20 years she had been hunted by people and the government without anyone to lean on. she lost the library full of knowledge, the archeologists who supported her, and her mother who she had JUST reunited with. she was only 8 years old when she had the entire world chasing after her.
the scholars of ohara had the ability to read poneglyphs that could explain what happened during the blank history. simply wanting to learn more about history is what caused oharaās destruction. now robin is the only one in the entire world who can learn about what happened during that time. all because one single person is ABLE to learn about what really happened, the world government put an enormous bounty on her so she could be caught one day.
i have always liked robinās character because of the small moments where it was clear she wasnāt TRULY evil. all she wanted was to get closer to what her loved ones devoted their lives researching. her life has been far from easy, having to run around finding ways to live. hearing people call her a ādevilā, saying she couldnāt be trusted when it was all a way for her to live without getting turned in.
the scene where she finally speaks from the heart, shouting āi want to liveā is one of the most beautiful moments in media i have ever seen. although it hasnāt been long, but robin has learned what it means to find people who love her. she has a crew full of people who not only care for her, but who would willingly declare war on the world government just to have her back with them.
all those years of suffering, her childhood of loneliness, having to deal with her trauma, have all led to this one moment. now robin can be true to herself. she can say what she truly wants because she isnāt alone anymore. robin now has friends who are willing to protect her.
finished water 7 arc!!
so peak! i loved that the problems werenāt JUST a new villain but also the issues between the crew. the usopp vs luffy situation was very realistic. i was so hurt by their argument but it was important to show the audience that not EVER moment between the crew is amazing. after all, they are all different people with different dreams and personalities.
robinās storyline is amazing. i have grown very attached to her character. sheās beautiful, smart, caring, and it hurts when people from the government label her as a ādevilā. she was just a child :(
overall, this arc is definitely my favorite so far. there was some cool moments, some sad ones, and funny ones!! just a perfect arc in my eyes!
side note: the scene where zoro gets stuck in a chimney and luffy gets stuck between the wall TWICE made me laugh so hard. def a highlight for me š
BEAUTIFUL
kageyama and hinataās non codependent relationship will always get to me, some way or another. itās the fact that they grow most apart even though theyāre truly the same when it comes down to just volleyball. my favourite metaphor for them will always be saying theyāre the same side of different coins because they truly are
currently on water 7 arc and i saw some people say zoro doesnāt care about the crew as much but as iām watching itās very clear HE DOES! heās just very big on tough love i feel. he isnāt gonna sugarcoat things or be swept by emotions which is important in a friend group i think! heās very stable, very reliable. heās going to be a reminder that you need to push through. all his fights heās always on the brink of death yet doesnāt allow himself to give up. zoro is resilient.
with the usopp vs luffy situation, itās clear he is bothered by it but he wonāt allow luffy to stay in his feelings. after all, as the captain he has to worry about the state of the crew. i just really love that about zoro. heās someone thatās going to remind you to stand up. he wonāt let you stay upset, but will be there to tell you to keep moving forward. he keeps you pushing on.
zoroās like the rock of the crew in my eyes! his resilience keeps everyone calm & collected in a crisis. heās someone you can rely on when you have a problem!
the kyo sohma tag oh iāve been shot
i love you characters who yearn for something they cannot have. i love you characters who are weak and pathetic and unknowable. i love you characters who reach for connection. i love you characters who bite at the hand that reaches back. i love you characters who let their anger define them. i love you characters who become unknowable even to themselves.
relationships between characters will always be my favorite thing. seeing these characters have flaws, strengths, passions, hardships, just like people in the real world and then having someone who accepts them completely is so beautiful. all the ships i love are so comforting because it isnāt JUST the romantic aspect that is special but the bond between the characters is so natural. their relationship didnāt just happen in one day, but it slowly grew over time to become something meaningful. almost like they had been waiting their entire lives to find someone who accepts them as they are.
i am IN LOVE with this new artwork! kusanagi is so unbelievably talented. the colors, the setting, the whole group together again. just absolutely stunning. you could feel how much she loves her characters through her art. they look so beautiful. i miss when they use to spend time as a family. hakyona looks so happy, the dragons all together again, and yoon smiling so brightly! iām so moved!
obsessed with the new skip and loafer art from the recent collab!! mitsumi posts a picture with all her friends while shima post a pic of only the two of them!! i find it so sweet that mitsumi is shimaās favorite person. they have so much affection for one another, itās beautiful!
akaashi in ch333 is so relatable & inspiring to me because despite feeling inadequate, he takes the time to get himself together to play the game to HIS best abilities. he stops trying to ask himself what tobio would do and instead plays the game HIS way. akaashi is a very great setter who is capable of getting his team as far as they can. itās just so nice to see someone who goes down this ābut they do it betterā spiral & get themselves out of it all on their own. he didnāt need anyone to comfort him. akaashi sat on the bench, allowed himself to think his feelings through, and was able to stand on the court again. he was able to go about his task as a setter like normal. i really admire that.
I FINISHED SKYPIEA ARC!! the story was amazing!! i love how the past of the island had an affect on itās future. it was so much fun, i loved seeing the straw hats in a different environment! AND LUFFY RINGING THE BELL AHHH JUST AMAZING š«š«š«
i didnāt think i would love zoro so much, but the more i get into one piece the more i love him! heās incredibly hardworking, heās devoted to his crew, he will put his all into a fight even if the the odds are against him. heās so cool!! i always thought he was super serious but i love zoroās silly side the most! heās just very endearing and sweet. it makes me so happy to see him enjoying the adventures alongside his friends. heās an amazing character!
happy iwaoi day to those who celebrate!! this ship is so beautiful & important to me!! childhood best friends who believe in one another & support each other no matter where they are in the world! it will always be the two of them together forever!! #1 & #4 always!!
TOBIO š©·š©·š©·š©·
the light of my life. just tobio smiling
i finished alabasta saga!! alabasta arc is 100% my fav arc so far!! so much fun, the story was amazing, the writing was great
i loved meeting ace! he was so much better than i expected! i knew he was a fan favorite but he was so much sweeter and kinder than i thought he would be!
robinās character is very interesting to me & iām excited she has joined the straw hats! i have always wanted to see more of her and iām hoping i get more info on her soon!
vivi is amazing! her character was so beautiful & i felt myself get more invested in the story because of how strongly she felt about her situation. i hope we get to see her again one day!
this saga was so much fun! i switched between the manga & anime and i thought it was the best way for me! iām so excited to see what comes next!
i think haikyuu is just a series you can reread as you get older and it will always feel the same. everytime i reread i get the same emotions from the first time & actually, i get even more attached after every read to the story. itās timeless. every lesson, every major moment, every feeling can be applied to any moment of your life. itās a masterpiece!
*hits you with a time travel quirk*
i love thinking about bakugo getting hit with a time travel quirk and his symbolic nightmares become a very tangible and chaotic new reality. sth sth learning how to move on as a better person without letting your past and shame control you, even if it's gonna follow you for the rest of your life in one way or another.
i don't think bakugo should atone repeatedly for his childhood sins, but i also don't really agree with the sentiment that their childhood wouldn't affect their adulthood. i think a lot of their little habits (the good and the bad) were formed during their childhood and as a result of their friendship and falling out, i think sometimes that catches them off-guard in their adulthood and leads to unexpected situations that require them to manage their emotions well so it doesn't end in unjust accusations and yeah.
i just finished east blue saga!!
i thought it was a very fun start to the series!! i honestly liked it a lot more than i thought! the characters are fun, the story is great, just a very good watch!! arlong park is definitely my favorite arc in this saga! I LOVE THE STRAW HATS!!!
i found this chapter so heartwarming!!! seeing how excited mitsumi is for her family to visit her was just so adorable!!! i also loved how happy her family was to go visit tokyo! the scene where mitsumi finds her younger sister was so beautiful. mitsumi is such a great older sister and person. just such a comforting chapter! <3
this chapter was so sweet and heartwarming!!! mitsumi all excited for her family to come visit was so adorable, sheās the cutest ever!!! sheās matured so much since the beginning of the story and seeing her take care of her little sister made me so happy. sheās the best person ever!!
i love rereading/rewatching my favorite series whenever i don't know what to do with my time because i'm always guaranteed an amazing time! it's like visiting your home after being gone for a long time. i already know that i love the series and what happens in the story, but revisiting the small details is so much fun! it's always so comforting <3
need this so badly, my BABIES AHHHH <3
skip and loafer sticker sheet!
the new kagehina official arts have been so adorable and perfect!!! i love how it shows the little things they do together outside of practicing volleyball. not only are they inseparable on the court but also in their daily lives. theyāre just so cute!!! i love when shoyo smiles so big and when tobio pouts in the background. itās so THEM!!!
also this art hinting at the āyou can fly higherā scene is so peak and perfect. tobio looking at shoyo so intently while shoyoās probably rambling about something random. no matter what shoyo is doing, tobio will always look over at him. THIS IS PERFECT šš
finished reading veil!!! so beautiful and mesmerizing. the art is stunning, the relationship between emma & aleksander is so intimate and genuine. thereās no need to label what they have, just being together everyday is enough. so charming and so amazing!!
what i always admired about tobio is how despite the fear of being rejected by his team again, he still stuck with volleyball. during his grief, the rough time in middle school, and the challenges in high school, not once did tobio ever think to himself āi want to give upā. time and time again, heās shown how much he loves volleyball and his passion to be the greatest setter ever. his determination is so inspiring and his character growth throughout the series is so beautiful. his desire to grow as a player influenced his growth as a person which i always thought was incredible. heās an amazing character! <3
