The feed photo from this video tickles me so much. The different expressions between them are just so dramatic

"Odysseus" showed us how much Ody has truly changed.

He's compared to almost all monsters in the musical during that one song.

His name's chanting is the same as Polyphemus'.

He aims for the torches just like Scylla.

"Eurylochus, light up six torches"

"Keep your head down he's aiming for the torches"

He rejected forgivness just like Poseidon did.

"Aren't you tired Poseidon? It's been 10 years how long will this go? We're both hurting from losses so why not end this here and just go home?"

"I can't"

"Oh king our leader's dead. You've destroyed the serpent's head. Now the rest of us are no longer a threat. Oh king forgive us instead, so that no more blood is shed. Let's have open arms instead!"

Athena and Zeus have two very different conversations depending on which version of Odysseus’ journey you look at (I’m obsessed with Epic and I studied the Odyssey for a year for my Classics A Level so I’ve had a lot of time to think about Odysseus and his story 😅):

Athena trying to convince Zeus to release Odysseus in ‘Epic’:

Athena: Father, my friend Odysseus has suffered greatly, please give him a reprieve and let him go home.

Zeus: So you have chosen death.

Athena trying to convince Zeus to release Odysseus in the Odyssey:

Athena: Father, can you help me free my favourite human? Seems like he’s been there for a long time.

Zeus: No, humans are ungrateful, because this one guy did something bad once.

Athena: Please?

Zeus: No.

Athena: Please?

Zeus: Okay, but let’s wait until your Uncle Poseidon is out of town, he’ll never let me hear the end of it. Is Hermes busy? I can’t be bothered to go over there and you need to give your human’s spawn a pep talk.

My favorite ever pronoun story has to be one of my German professor’s. He fondly remembers being mugged by a gang of teenagers in Dresden, who used Sie (formal you) the entire time.
