Damian Wayne comes across a classic christmas carol known well among the children of gotham… pt [1/?]
hi i know “don’t believe everything you read on tumblr” has been said enough times at this point in the website’s tenure but i want to specifically say that there is a problem on tumblr and other social media where well-known science enthusiast accounts basically build trust as Knowing Things and then they can say anything they want about those things & everyone just believes them. this is especially a problem among ppl posting about ecology & animal science in my experience.
i’m absolutely throwing stones in my own glass house bc i almost never used to include sources on my wildlife science posts on my old blog but these days i try to make a point of it & i think others should too.
i don’t even think anyone is lying or making things up on purpose. i think they’ve just heard it from another source they consider reliable & they’re spreading incorrect or incomplete information without questioning it, to a much larger platform. about ten years ago I myself made a post repeating something a wildlife professor said to me, which turned out to be outdated info and mostly inaccurate. i trusted him as a source, but i should have looked at the data before sharing it to a wider audience. it was an important lesson!
basically idc how many times popular content creators on here or any other site/app have been correct about other things in other posts. you should still make a habit of asking yourself “what’s the source?” even when it’s a blog you like & trust. bc let me tell ya, i have seen some doozies lately
i literally dont care what your excuse for using AI is. if you didnt put your own effort into making it im not putting my own effort into interacting with it.
Alright alright.
This post combined with the "Tim was Duke's Robin growing up."
Add that with the "Duke becomes a Robin-like protege to Tim helping anchor an adrift RR" au.
What do we get?
Tim calmly and patiently working with Duke, particularly with his powers.
The two of them causing chaos and showing each other their tricks to circumvent blame/suspicion.
Tim slightly dissociating as he's showing Duke a move Bruce once showed him. Duke's cursed fumbling bringing him back to the present.
Tim trying to channel his inner Dick Grayson as he supports Duke despite his mixed feelings about it. Tim slipping up and referring to Duke as Dick used to refer to him: "baby bird."
Duke freezing.
Tim internally panicking (and quite a bit externally) as he apologizes.
Duke uncharacteristically hesitant as he allows Tim to call him by that endearment.
This brings them closer together (pretty much family) while painfully healing some of their hurts
[ALT TEXT: the "shout out to...gotta be one of my favourite genders" meme the altered text reads: black boys with huge hearts in an animated piece of media who jumped into an alternate universe and it shifted their entire worldview which inadvertently changed and saved their entire story and narrative in their own universe
two pictures are added, one of them is ekko from arcane and the other is miles morales from across the spiderverse]
edit: if you saw the very blurry version no you didn't
the idea of protists is really funny. Ah yes, the kingdoms of life: Animals, Plants, Fungi, and Don't worry about it:)
