Youth fascination with technology
Dreams about non-existent loved ones are the worst. Whether it's about a lover, a parent, a sibling, a child or even a friend it always makes me cry. It's a special kind of sadness too. Like, this person never existed, but I love them as much as I do my real family anyways?? And I can barely remember them but what I can remember is slipping away and getting blurry until they are nothing but vague images and sounds. I don't even know what they look like. I can't even talk to anyone about them because. What do even I say? Nobody else knows them but me.
I had a dream just the other day where I think maybe my parents died or something, because I was really sad and went to stay at a robot man's house. He wasn't related to me and I had never met him before this. But he comforted me when I was crying, dried me with a towel after I went out in the rain, and saved me from falling off a cliff (I don't know how I got into that situation).
He was really kind, and had big, round, pinky-orange eyes that changed shape depending on his mood. I'm also pretty sure he had a British accent, like a doctor from Doctor Who.
Eventually, I called him Uncle and he was really happy about it.
Now, I'm stuck grieving for an Uncle I don't have and can barely remember anything about.
I think the reasons why so many of us gen z are practically frothing at the mouth to fight politicians and other things is because:
A. We aren't really afraid to die. We grew up being bombarded with statistics along the lines of "by 2050 all forests will cease to exist" and "the oceans are going to have a worldwide ecological collapse in the coming years" that we just we kinda accepted it and collectively lost hope?? Like, I realised that I truly, subconsciously believed that the world would end in my lifetime and I just? Didn't care?? And all of my friends think the same way??
B. Most of us grew up seeing our parents being depressed and divorcing and we couldn't accept that as our future too. We have unlimited access to an unlimited source of information and everyday we are bombarded by a hundred different sources of horrible news that either fuels are anger, turns it into apathy, or both. We need something to take that anger on.
We are not old enough to change this system that makes us so angry through politics and career choices, so we do what we can through the technology that we've had access to our entire lives. That is why we want to fight. Because we are desperately clinging to the hope that we can change things for the better and fix this planet the way everyone expects us to.
TIL that moths can actually photosynthesise. Pretty cool
Somebody write a oneshot of class 1A watching encanto because that would be amazing. Can you imagine Midoriya crying during 'Waiting on a Miracle' and completely resonating with Mirabel's struggles of people pitying her?? Or the kids with 'villainous' or 'weak' quirks sympathising with how everyone looked down apon Bruno for his "problematic" power?? I would love this so much!
i fucking hate pea and ham soup. i haven't eaten it in years but I still get a fight or flight response whenever I smell it. worst food ever.
