i’m so normal about lucien i don’t constantly think about his flaming red hair or his snark or his rakishness or him catching fish barehanded with his pants rolled up or him in a fox mask or him offering the moon on a string in exchange for a kiss or his wicked smile or his teasing laugh or his different eyes or his cruel beauty or his courtier’s grace or his sharp wit or his thoughtfulness when giving gifts or the fact that he has fire in his blood and [redacted] or or or

I keep thinking about this post about different cultures offering guests food, and it got me thinking about the clones. Clones will always offer guests food and drink. It's a symbol of peace, an opportunity to build trust and connection. It's an extension of their fellowship and brotherhood.

It starts during the Clone Wars when shinies would get extra ration bars from the more senior clones. Or when two battalions are working together for the first time, they have a little get together where clones will share their rations and any drinks they have (I feel like some clones make their own booze on the side but that's for another day).

And this still holds true after the war. Even if it isn't much and regardless of who the guest is and the nature of their visit, the clones will always offer food and drink. They will be filling guests' plates with more food and will always give them a small snack to take with them. Even if all they have to offer is bread and water, that is what they will offer.

Eris was so real for saying “I didn’t know you fucked your sisters” bc the weird shit between Cassian and Mor makes me so uncomfy. Cassian says he sees her as his sister then turns around and thinks about how good fucking her was it was weird.

Fuck all love letters except whatever Cardan Greenbriar had going on when he wrote “my heart is buried with you in the strange soil of the mortal world, as it was drowned with you in the cold waters of the undersea. it was yours before i could admit it, and yours it shall ever remain”

Always feel bad when I see someone say something like "I don't have a disability but I have [something that is a disability but society doesn't treat like one]"

Migraines. Food allergies. GERD. Vision problems. Skin problems. For people that menstruate, conditions that cause irregular and painful cycles. Those are all disabling. Anything that impairs you from functioning or completing a basic life task without accommodation is a disability. Anything that makes you spend days in bed during a flare up is a disability! Not everyone experiences your symptoms and you're not being weak or whiny.

Mental illnesses that people treat as "mainstream" these days like anxiety, depression, or ADHD are still disabilities. Overcoming a massive struggle just to get out of bed, slow down your thoughts, or focus on what you need/want to do is disabling. Starting the day with less mental energy than most people is disabling.

For the migraine people: yes, everyone gets headaches, but no not everyone gets migraines. It's a condition that can be inherited in which our nerves are literally wired differently and more sensitive than someone who doesn't get migraines.

For the food allergy and digestive disorder people: if you eat something your body can't tolerate, you become sick. Doesn't matter if it's a trip to the ER or skin irritation for a few hours, that's a negative response in your body. Going hungry at social events because you can't eat anything, that's not something you just have to grin and bear. Prohibitively expensive or hard-to-find accessible food. Most people have the privilege of not worrying about eating.

For people with abnormal menstrual cycles: you don't have to suck it up because "lots of people get periods, no one likes them, but they all deal with it." Majority of people who get periods don't spend days in bed with debilitating pain or nausea. Your heightened struggle is real. Going months between cycles can increase your risk of health conditions down the line, and it's good to speak to a gynecologist if you have access to one.

If you are feeling discomfort on a regular basis in any part of your body, or if you usually feel unwell after eating, that isn't normal and you deserve medical attention and support

Edit to reiterate this list is not exhaustive!

Nesta Archeron deserved better, and I will die on that hill. Was she a mean older sister? Yes. Does she deserve to be held accountable for that? Absolutely. But that is something that should have been handled between the Archeron sisters.

The truth is, they all had issues they should have resolved together. Elain also did nothing in the cabin, but because she’s sweet it’s okay that she also didn’t hunt. Feyre told the IC the bad things about her sisters, while leaving out the good parts. She also was the reason they ended up in the cauldron. Nesta shouldn’t have been so bitter and cold to her family, she should have shown her love better. Not one of them was perfect, but Nesta is everyone’s target because she’s not sweet and submissive.

They all have stuff to own up to, but they should have done that together. And the IC targeting Nesta, especially after Feyre tells them to stop is bullshit and my girl deserved better.

The poor girl didn’t even get an “I love you” in her book. Instead she got a man who seemed to hate her and want nothing to do with her, and when she’s broken suddenly he loves her because she’s not fighting him anymore.

Nesta went to the wall to rescue Feyre. She fought in a war. She killed a King. She was expected to heal in such little time when Elain was given months, and still isn’t completely healed. She was told not to drink and sleep around, when it is said in the books how the IC handled their first war/battles, and how they cope with their trauma. And again, it’s okay for them, but not Nesta. Only when Nesta gave up her powers was she ever welcomed in their Court.

So yes, I will die on the hill of “Nesta deserved better”. Thank you for coming to my Ted Talk.

Nope, my theory is that Rhys doesn’t actually like Feyre. He likes the power that comes with her. If he actually liked her, ACOSF would not have been the same. He would have told her about the pregnancy. He would have taught her how to rule the court (rather than having half his court see her as his plaything and other half see her appropriate their culture in a way that just wrong). He would have given her more agency, more opportunities, traveled with her, have an actual relationship.

SJM girlies can scream feminism all they want at these comments, but the truth is that getting pregnant at 21 with no house and no freedom is just another trap that lord Rhysie set up for her. This isn’t the debate of ‘girls can choose war or they can choose motherhood. You aren’t a feminist if you think motherhood isn’t for Feyre’. The problem isn’t motherhood, but the fact that Feyre’s abusive husband trapped her in a marriage through manupilation and she is stuck there now with a child who might face similar abuse, and there’s no way out since she has no friends or family or support for her so called loyal court.

This is the horror story of all the girls who were groomed at a young age by some sick older man, and a common story in every country where patriarchy is still strong (take it from someone who was born and raised in such a country).

If Rhysie wasn’t a bad boy with dark hair, the same fans would tell this girl to ✨run✨

I've been thinking about the chase scene in Acowar and how smart Eris actually is. When he captured Feyre he could've winnowed straight out of there but he decided to drag her. First time reading this I was like dude wtf are you doing, but later on I was thinking how smart that actually was. He needed Night Court going after him, he needed them trespassing in Autumn so he could catch them and form an alliance in exchange for silence.

I want more Eris, arguably one of the most complex characters in acotar.

!tw!: mentions of pedophilia, sexual assault, basically my encounter with a sexual predator (no detailed descriptions or anything, just me telling the story of how i was exposed to one)

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
kids just kinda... have a sixth sense... i can’t really explain it,, but like,, they can tell if an adult is a sexual predator or dangerous or something. i’ve seen this happen so many times, but the one event that confirms it is actually something that I experienced with my karate instructor.
when i was about six or seven, i went to karate classes twice a week. my dad would drive me there, then sit and read a book (usually the chronicles of narnia or lord of the rings or something like that) in a chair at the edge of the room with the other parents.
 i had always felt uneasy around the instructor, but i passed it off as me being super shy. it eventually got to the point where if he got within three feet of me, i’d immediately start shaking and my heart would race and stuff.
the breaking point was about eight or nine weeks into classes. for some reason, as soon as he stopped next to me, i burst into tears. (now, when i was a kid, i didn’t cry. i just didn’t. i’d scrape my knee, fall off my bike, hit my head, but i almost never cried.) cue everyone asking me if i was alright and crowding around me and stuff, but i just ran over to my dad and jumped into his arms, refusing to let go of him. after a solid ten minutes of me sobbing my heart out into his shirt, he pulled me from the class, took me out for ice cream, and drove me home, playing my favorite heavy metal songs for me (yeah i had weird taste in music as a kid).
after that, i refused to go back to karate. i dug my heels in and would throw a temper tantrum that shook the ground if my parents tried to get me to go to karate. so, i never went back.
i’d mostly forgotten about it over time, occasionally thinking about it late at night when i had trouble sleeping, but other than that, it almost completely left my mind.
that was, until earlier this morning, my dad told me that my old karate instructor had been arrested for sexually assaulting an eight year old boy, and apparently, according to his DETAILED journal, he’d been doing it since he started working as a karate instructor. boys, girls, big, little. he’d done it for decades.
who knows, i could have been one of those children. i could’ve been one of them, and i can’t stop thinking about it, along with the fact that children most definitely can, in some small part of their minds, tell if someone is dangerous. they may not know at the time what exactly is wrong, but they know that something is.
