botw/totk zelink has grown on me in time but personally i think the funniest interpretation of their relationship is that link, having absolutely no memories apart from muscle memory, has zero concept of dating or romantic relationships. it doesnt help that hes aroace because he thinks his very queerplatonic relationship with zelda is just them being "ultra best friends." if you asked him if he was dating the princess link would be like Dating? does it really look like that? like yea we're roommates we sleep on the same bed sometimes i make her breakfast every morning we cuddle while watching horror movies on the ipad but isnt that just what ultra best friends do?? and if you ask zelda the same question she just shrugs and says can't tell but im happy with this

Okay so it goes something like this:

Wild is trying to cook dinner on Skyloft. Note the 'trying' bit cuz I may randomly decide that it's funny to make him high as fuck on altitude or something just for shits and giggles.

Sun passes by and offers to help cook because she is less likely than any of the Links (including Wild btw) to burn the sun out of the sky (pun absolutely intended).

Wild makes some offhand comment about how he could "sleep for a day" and Sun's like "oh I've already been out for a couple millennia" (I've never actually been able to play SS so not sure if it's a thousand years actually T_T)

Wild says (0 hesitation, this is just pure unfiltered Wild energy here) "oh cool I was only ever dead for 100 years. A thousand is crazy."

Cue the pikachu shock meme except they're two-way spider-man multiverse pointing meme-ing at each other and then that brain explosion emoji. (Holy shit I sound insane. Never mind this is Tumblr. With all due respect, I'm assuming you understand at least some of this.)

And then there's the trauma dumping sesh with Wild being like "I got lasered and burnt to a crisp by a bunch of ancient metal eyeballs and died" and Sun's like "I got my soul eaten by this big-ass evil monster that turned out to be a fricking god."

Then they just look at each other and start cackling. Because obviously Trauma Funny™.

Holy shit what the fuck have I done. Actually never mind this is absolutely worth it.

Both of them died, came back, and had to restore their memories. They both deal with feeling like an intruder in their own body, feeling like they can't live up to who they used to be in their past life. WAR PTSD!! FLASHBACKS!!! They're both knights (sort of? This is a bit of a stretch lmao) Sun went to a knight school, Wild used to be a knight before he kicked the bucket.

I need more content of them interacting and just relating to each other. Because they really would relate. Their experience of dying and coming back is not a very common one, and having someone else to relate to would probably make them overjoyed. Also, Wild has already spoken to her. Mostly just as a business exchange and she's Hylia then, but STILL. Pls someone write a fic abt them, I will marry you. This is my official proposal. Compete for my aroace hand right now. GET WRITING PLEASE YOU'LL HAVE MY SOUL. (because I'm too lazy to)
